As Collin 'captures' Rhea once more, Blake thinks, You see? My friends and I will keep you safe. Will you help us in return? I wouldn't ask, except that it is something that we cannot do ourselves, and the lives of our own colony are at stake.
The three of you return to the stairs by the lobby and go up to the second floor. On the way the Joltik replies with, You are saver! We help you now! But the fact that such a large electric spider still remained above you somewhere was a little unsettling. The 2nd floor looked much tidier than the first, apparently the Meowths and Persian didn't bother to come up here.
Because of their own distractions, Blake and Collin both missed what Dave saw. Up ahead, a slight flash of light from a door at the end of the hallway. The yellow-white tinge revealed it to be electrical in nature, which was exactly what you were looking for.
Thinking for a moment, Blake quietly says, "You guys should be able to handle it on your own, right?" To the linked Joltik, he thinks, Will you be willing to hellp me speak with your parent? I would like to ask for their help as well - and moreover, I wouldn't want to offend them by asking you to aid our colony without approval.
Dave and Nosey are able to sneak down the hall nearly silently, and nothing jumps out at them as they do. They reach the room where the light came from and peaking in, Dave can see another Pikachu scooping a plant out of a fishtank, a dead fish pokemon floating listlessly. It doesn't seem to notice you.
(Surprise round, if you need it)
Blake leaves Collin alone and takes his arachnid entourage further up the stairs. Yes, we go to see father! Blake opens the door to the attic entrance and steps inside, lantern lighting the place. Celeste follows you into the room, and you both stop to admire it. Thousands of webs string across and around the space in the attic, more than a dozen flickering with electricity. Before you can come any closer, the great, yellow spider drops from the ceiling, landing directly in front of you. You realize that it could have attacked you unawares, but chose not too. Papa! the little Joltik mentally cheers. This Saver saved us! He killed the white hunters! The large spider looks at Blake, expectantly.
Collin waits by the stairs, content with being between his two allies if either should need his support.
Blake gives a respectful nod to the large spider, making sure not to dislodge any of the Joltiks currently perched on him. He sends a mental request to the Joltik linked to him to help its father understand him, before speaking. "Hello," he says, keeping his tone even. "I found your children in this place while searching for aid for my own colony... They were pursued by another creature, who my companions and I subdued, and will turn into an ally in your protection. We are seeking the aid of creatures such as yourselves, who can bring power to this place - the building that our colony used to generate electricity was destroyed by those who wish to annihilate us, and while we have strength, we do not have the ability to care for all among our colony without help." As he speaks, Blake relays images to the Joltik he is channelling - the destruction of the mall and subsequent explosion at the pier, the gathering of the Gym members to bring order to the survivors, the battle at the arena and defusing of the bomb.
As he gets to the thoughts of the generator, he continues, "We have a smaller device that can help us provide for those among our colony... but it requires electricity that we cannot generate ourselves. You, however, can provide the power it needs, and my colony can, in turn, offer you protection from anything that would threaten you. I am not asking for servitude... only for aid until we can rebuild enough to generate this power ourselves."
I'm assuming a Charisma check is needed here - (1d20-1)
The large spider chitters to the Joltik on Blake's shoulder with a low, methodical noise. You're translator thinks to you, We need food. Papa wants big cat. He follow you to food. You ask after food. As it relays the message, the other two Joltiks crawl down your legs and climb on top of their parent. It waits patiently for you to either produce a dead Persian, or lead it to one.
Dave finds and dissects several calculators, equating to 2 batteries.
Blake leads the group of spiders down the stairs, always conscious of the large one's eyes on his back. Celeste leads the way and instinctively stands between the Geodude and their escorted allies. Blake is able to lead them to the dead Persian without further incident and the large spider greedily digs in.
Gonna need another Cha check to finally convince him.
Smiling as the Galvantula begins its meal, Blake says/thinks, "This one, even with its own allies, was a simple foe for myself, Celeste, and our allies. And other members of our colony are equally strong..." Blake pulls forth the memories of the battle with the Meowths and Persian, as well as memories of Joan's battle in the arena, before continuing. "We are willing to protect you and help you, either by finding you food or giving you room to hunt for yourself. But we need your help... my colony may depend upon it. Please... will you help us?"
Dave and Collin find nothing but bones, webs, and jolts of electricity in the attic. If there was a central hub, it wasn't here. In one of the few bone piles that were accessible, Dave finds two familiar berries. (+2 Oran berries)
The Galvantula eats a great deal of the dead Persian, leaving little left for any scavengers. It thinks on your words for a few minutes, and then it nods to you. The Joltik on your shoulder mentally pipes up, We all go with you, Saver. To save your nest! The other Joltiks climb back onto your shoulders and even the Galvantula hangs from your back. Blake's surprised at how light the hairy, yellow spider felt.
As you reach the lobby Dave and Collin come down as well and together the three of you walk back to the Arena. You cause quite a stir, the three of you. People all stand as you enter the floor of the Arena and present the spiders and two pokeballs to Joan. She's speechless for only a moment when she sees Blake absolutely covered in yellow spiders, but she quickly hides her surprise. "Wow, you actually did it. I'm impressed," she says. "Alright, we'll have them brought to this office. We'll have fresh food for them every day. They'll be fed as often as we feed ourselves, I promise."
Around 11:00 PM the generator is hooked up to a main office and the electric mons are given spacious Kennels with clean water and fresh food. The Thunderstone is used on a Pikachu and the resulting Raichu seems just happy to be safe. Together the six pokemon produce enough energy through the generator that the lights in the Arena turn on. All of them. It's once again like being in a normal place. A few commands are entered in a central console and the Arena floor starts changing. The solid concrete is soon replaced with a dirt ground with scattered rocks. "We'll be able to grow some food here, when raiding restaurants proves dangerous." The lights are dimmed and any windows covered up. It wouldn't be wise to advertise that there was power in here.
The three of you are soon encouraged to go back to the Gym and sleep for the night. Along the quick walk back, Celeste pulls Blake into the alley between buildings. Before he can even ask what she's doing, she points to a pokeball on the ground. A scan with the Dex reveals that it contains a Litwick, but is not registered to any trainer. Odd.
Litwick, Level 5, Female, Flame Body, Lazy. Full health.
The rest of the walk will go unperturbed and you can all get some sleep. It's 11:30 when you do. Wake up will be at 7:30 AM. Please post how much each of your pokemon is healed, rates are on the pad. Also post if you get healed.
As the electric types are brought in, Blake mentally explains the situation to his new friend, allowing him to relay to the others. Before breaking the connection, he offers one final thought to the Joltik. Again, thank you for this... you may be saving all of our lives with your aid. I'll come by to talk to you from time to time, if you like.
Blake blinks as he picks up the Pokeball, before saying, "Thanks, Celeste." Upon returning to the Gym, Blake first releases Varen, giving the Lum berry Celeste found earlier to the Pokemon. "Here... this'll take care of those burns," he says. "Also, someone you might want to meet..." he says, releasing the Litwick. "Varen, meet Lux." Blake gestures towards the Litwick as he speaks. "Lux, Varen." Thinking for a moment, he says, "You two and Celeste can relax for the night..." He smirks before addressing Celeste specifically, "If you want to go find Slasher for some private time, just don't wake anyone up, alright?" Before anything else can be said, he pulls the covers over his head to block out the Litwick's light and falls asleep quickly, the exhaustion of the day overtaking him, not noticing as Celeste trots out of the room and the two ghost-type Pokemon vanish through the wall.
Blake - 13 HP

Collin will sleep, content that today has been an incredibly productive day. He releases all of his 'mons to join him in his room. Sybaris instantly takes charge of the harem and organizes everyone in their own sleeping space, she herself of course getting Collin's side. She isn't totally sure what, but things went wrong today, and she has taken Collin's words about leading the gang to heart.
Ganga lurks under the bed hidden in the gloom, sleeping contentedly to be part of the team and not alone. Today was absolutely terrifying, but they all stuck together. Collin would protect them, and Sybaris seems to have warmed up to her. She was loved, and she had family for the first time in her life. She was content. Whatever tomorrow brought, they would face it together.
Isonade contentedly flops herself down at the foot of the bed and sleeps. She got to see all sorts of fascinating things today. Tomorrow promised to be even more exciting.
Rhea does her best to ignore Syb's imperious nature and remains a little apart from the group. She isn't sure she really fits in with the rest. Still, there was something right about working with Collin. He brought out something good in her. Still, she didn't like crowds. She and Syb eventually came to an agreement and Sybaris "assigned" her the spot she was taking anyways near the door. She wouldn't admit it even to herself, but it disturbed her how easily she scared those joltik today. Was she a monster? These troubling thoughts drifted her off to sleep.
Bastet, only recently having joined the team, doesn't know anyone at all and just curls up in a ball by the bedside when Syb asks her to. She's a little intimidated by that one and isn't too keen on crossing her. When did today go all wrong? She had been with the rest of her pride that morning basking in the children's affection, then the children grew scared and left them. They grew hungry, and the dead birds and fish were just far too tempting. Then those strangers came and hurt herself and her pack. Next thing she knows, one of the strangers has her trapped in a small room. Who are these people? What do they want from her? Is this better or worse than the abandoned school? For that matter, where had the children gone? Just as the scared, shy cat was about to cry herself to sleep, a scaly orange fish flopped next to her and touched her paw with its fin. It gave her a smile full of hope and acceptance. Isonade's hope was infectious and Bastet went to sleep, if not excited, at least hopeful that tomorrow will be better.
Collin wasn't sure what he thought of today. Tragedy had struck, but they have begun to make real progress to restoring things. Joan had taken charge, and he was glad of that. He felt that the earth was calling him to avenge its children that had been so savagely torn from its embrace. In the past few days, he and Sybaris had made many new friends and even gained quite a few new family members. He has begun to feel a natural connection to this place as real as it was intangible. In the end, he concluded that whatever tomorrow brought, he, Dave, and Blake and their pokemon partners would do their best to triumph over what has happened. Perhaps, if the Spirit of Earth was kind, Collin would get a chance soon to avenge those who were killed on the ones responsible.
At night, his dreams are haunted with being trapped on the top of the tallest building on Dusk Island, cut off from the Earth. The spirits of the rest of his pokemon fade away and he's left with only Isonade to stand beside him.
Collin is injured for 12 damage, and all 12 will heal (max heal rate 20/night). HP now 80/80
Sybaris was uninjured.
Ganga was at 25/38 and heals 16/night, so is healed to full.
Isonade was at 12/29 and heals 12/night, so is now at 24/29.
Rhea was at 10/31 and heals 14/night, so is now at 24/31
Maia was uninjured
Bastet was at 2/32 and heals 10/night, so is now at 12/32
With the power restored Dave plugs in his flash light to recharge and runs a few errands. he...
Repairs the ball Collin broke trying to catch the first pikachu.
Passes on to Vanessa the info that the school might have box system access if power was restored to it.
If Andrew or Taylor have a moment he asks them if they could tell him what kind of egg he found.
Introduces Growler to the rest of the team and feeds him the Oran berries he found to help heal him.
he then collects his flash light and returns to the dorm with Blake and Collin
when he gets back to his room he gives all his pokemon 2 options "you can sleep in or out of your balls its your choice I just need you guys to be rested we are not out of the woods yet and we need to be ready for anything" Nosey snuggles close to Dave and Peach takes what she assumes is her expected position on the phanpy's head. Biter not really being the type for snuggles falls asleep in a corner by the door. Slasher and Growler have other plans and they begin to tiptoe out. As Slasher turns the knob Dave cracks one eye open and says "what ever you guys do don't wake any one up and don't leave the building I need to be able to find you guys if we need to get out fast" before going back to sleep. In the hall Slasher peels off looking for Celeste and Growler follows a familiar scent to Collins room. He doesn't want to make the guy who patched him up upset by waking anyone while fiddling with the knob so he settles on just sleeping in front of the door as close as he can be to his fellow pride member.
Daves rest was less than peaceful reality hit him that he was almost killed 3 times over today and yet somehow he survived he felt guilty about it he wondered why he survived and not others. He then dreamed of the trainer that got away and of him planting more bombs and killing more people. Dave blamed himself for his escape. He kept thinking that he should have been faster or smart enough to swap out for Slasher. Dave swore that if he ever ran into that trainer again he would do what it takes to bring him in.
see OOC for rolls
Growler heals 12+berries
Dave returns to full health (max healing 13/night)

Each of you awake feeling better than when you went to bed. There's a message waiting on your P-Gears: -Meet me in the Arena at 9:30 AM, Joan- Before he went to bed, Dave was able to get Taylor to look at his egg. Turns out that it's a Psyduck Egg, not electric at all. The good news is that at the time it had already spent a week of it's hatch time. She had calculated that by the time Dave woke up, there'd be 64 hours left, give or take special circumstances.
You're all awake, in your individual rooms. It's 7:30 AM. You have a meeting with your leader in 2 hours.
Blake wakes up and goes through some semblance of a morning routine, Lux serving quite well as a light source. Pulling up the island map on his P-Gear after gathering his Pokemon, he thinks for a moment, before nodding to himself, and heading out into the main area of the Gym. As he passes by Collin and Dave, he says, "I'll meet you guys at the arena... I'm going to see if there's anything useful to be found around here." Making his way out of the Gym, he unfolds his Bike and rides over to the Museum, looking around to see if there's anything of interest.
Collin will recall everyone but Isonade. He feels something with her... there's hidden potential in that happy-go-lucky fish.
He'll eat the last of his rations while training her, giving her a bit to nibble as well.
"Issy, I saw that you comforted Bastet last night. Thank you for doing that. She needed a friend. You may not be as powerful as some of the rest of the family, but you have a place on this team. You're the heart of this team."
Lacking any available pools of water to train Isonade in her strengths of swimming, he'll focus instead on jumping drills. Perhaps a well-placed wet body at just the right time will manage to change the tide of battle. One never knew, but Collin saw no point in not trying.
He spends the first bit having her see how high she can jump. Overall, it's a rather impressive fifteen feet high.
This gets him onto an idea; he has her spend the majority of the time honing how precise her jumps are. Her fishy form is ill-suited to overland travel, but her powerful tail is able to send her pretty far through the air. Collin find that about 12 feet horizontal is just about the best he can expect from her. She needs to keep at least some curve to the jump or she'll have no precision in where she lands. Besides, jumping over her opponent's head has potential value.
For the last little bit, Collin will sit back and let Isonade move as she will. She seems very happy to have discovered how useful jumping around can be. She sends herself from one wall to the other back and forth in dozen-foot leaps at a time. Collin looks at her move, one powerful leap after the next, and it seems almost as if she can fly.

"Okay, Isonade, that was wonderful! You are growing more amazing every time." He'll recall the fish and send out Maia.
"Maia, that school yesterday has me thinking: chaos very likely rules these streets. What do you say we see what we can do towards making the streets around the gym a little safer?" She nods her assent and Collin steps outside the gym and looks for any wild pokemon that might have wandered near the gym. (d%)
