Depends, do you want to be a villain or a hero?
If you could organize some kind of cult, this could get super powerful.

That wouldn't matter as it sounds like the stereotypical vampristic murderous monster.
Anti-heroes and Evil villians apply only.

Addictive power that I'd fear using until someone forces my hand, I'd give in, and BAM! BRAINS! BRAINS! EAT BRAINS FOR POWER! MWAHAHA!

From what I've read, this is more of a form of empathy that draws energy from the people around them, much like a succubus or Mexican masked wrestler. The more of a certain type of mental energy is around you, the more powerful you are, filled with energy and strength.

A famous person or music idol would be all powerful with this. |D

Besides, most people tend to forget that Aquaman is actually a total badass.

"lol he talks to fish"
No, he commands them to do his will.

"rofl fail comic relief"
The only member of the League that is stronger than him is Superman. In fact, going underwater, he's on par with Superman in every aspect except for durability.

"Aquaman is a joke"
Only applies to the Superfriends Aquaman, who did talk to fish and was a complete joke.

Not an exact analogy, but I present the Coconut Effect. Even if he was strong, failure Aquaman is still too ingrained in the internet to be forgotten/replaced

The best part is that even in the DC Universe, nobody takes him seriously. He just shows up in the middle of Metropolis to stop two robbers, the police ask why he's there (not close to any water), and he takes his trident and flips the car over.

He also eats fish in that same issue, and is interviewed by a dork who asks him why everyone thinks he's a joke.

I read it as mental and neurological leeching. The power would be base on range and absorption. The examples given required touch, absorbed skills and strength, and ranged from paralysis to death as effect on victims.

So villains and antiheroes.

One thing I like when creating heroes is to take classically villainous powers and make heroes with them. Not anti-heroes, dark, broody and violent, but out and out heroes who like helping others as best they can. This one is a tough one, but not impossible. A charsmatic type who surrounds themselves with fans so they only have to take a sip from each. Even other heroes might think they are only in it for glory and fame, but they know that they are doing the best with the hand fate dealt.
Think a vampiric Booster Gold.

I got law manipulation and my initial reaction was that it was kind of lame until I read that it can be used to create, change, or erase the actual rules of reality, right down to fundamental laws of physics.

Emotions and healing are out, I think, but that is one of the broader ones.

We seem to be getting up in power levels here. I wonder when someone'll get Omnipotence...

As far as I can tell, we seem to have a group of people with powers that frankly, are useless except in very specific situations, myself included. And another group who have practically divine power over the consequence.
Nestled in between, is a group who possesses powers that have a greater application but don't grant the user dominion over a large proportion of the cosmos.

I suppose that's the difficulty of these lotteries.

So what you're saying is that we have useless powers, incredibly useful powers, and those in between.

What a wonderfully accurate assessment.

Not really, you just change the laws of physics so you have a healing or a emotion manipulating super power. For pretty much any intents and purposes, it *is* omnipotence.

In truth, what I meant was that people either seem to have useless powers or world shattering powers with very few in between.

Not the strongest of the linguistic powers, but still pretty awesome as these things go. Out of curiosity, what happens if I write, oh.. 'servile genie' or something along those lines?

Fireball Projection...

Well, I think that disqualifies me from LUTAS... and indeed from heroics in general. Fireballs are generally fairly destructive, and there's not a lot of subtlety involved... So Villain I guess? Or Anti-hero at best?

I think we should basically categorize this to:
  • People with (possibly borderline) useless powers, like superfarts.
  • People with non-universe breaking powers, like Pyromancy.
  • People with powers that totally ruin it for everyone, like changing the laws of reality. NOT ALLOWED! You won't ever use your power!

Well, it says 'object'. A genie is a person, even a servile one.

It's very simple.
Just make people feel sick without actually being sick.
Symptoms are everything.
Let them try putting up a fight when they're voiding from both ends at, well, everything.
I've done it, not fun.

Well, with all the superheroes teams popping up I think it's time to spice things up a bit.

Let's face it, no matter what kind of person you are, some powers are just evil. Take mine for exemple. I disintegrate stuff. I basically can't apply non-lethal force and if anyone challenges me my only answer is to erase them from the face of the Earth on a molecular level. Talk about overkill!
Also, if I ever get really really pissed off with the planet I could start disintegrating it chunk after chunk, beholder-style.

Why not just embrace it and bring terror to the world?
So come on people, join the "Bad Powers" company or BP co., for short.

Just fill the form below:
1-Is your power unplesant, immoral or extremely destructive?
2-Have you got enough self-restraint to use it responsably?
3-Really?

This game really gets fun when trying to justify three powers in one char. Two... not so hard. But sometimes that thrid power is really the keystone that creates uniquness:

Aquatic Respiration

Not a bad start. I implies some interesting backstory element and allows the char to travel some roads others might find blocked.

Elemental Breath. A little random, but still somewhat fitting. Sea dragon or underwatter spitting cobra... lets see if that third power brings it all together.

Heat Transfer.

So there you go. I absorb heat from all sources around me and focus that as either a flaming or steam-based blast out of my mount. Seadragon.

Not bad :)

Others should try the thre-point reconciliation. It give the game a challenge.

You just aren't being creative enough. If they are a gadget villain, disintegrate their gadgets. If they are super tough, disintegrate things selectively so the objects drop on them. If you are up high, make a hole under them. Trapping a none flier in a deep, smoothly lined is an option for several power levels.
Villainy is for the uncreative.
