Oh, and for some reason my HP roll didn't work before, so trying again.

Not to be a wiseass or anything, but do you have any means of disguising yourself? If I'm not mistaken drow are likely to be attacked on sight in most places on the surface.
Re: Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave [Pathfinder, Forgotten Realms, Recruiting]
Nah, never gave it much thought... but you raise a valid point. I suppose a few points into disguise or a magic item that casts disguise might be in order.

(I hope that doesn't sound critical, I'm just curious.)
I did, but again I hadn't given much thought to the whole notion of disguise... which probably was kind of a ridiculous oversight on my part in hindsight, but hey, it was pretty late last night when I was working on this.
Re: Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave [Pathfinder, Forgotten Realms, Recruiting]
Ok, I'm mostly done.
Decided to go with the "Helm incarnate" concept, contradicting my earlier statement of wanting archery (though to be honest my greater desire was to play a divine spontaneous caster); here's the sheet.
It has most things up, the only missing bit is my equipment, his history is under "Other Notes"; I used the 20 point buy because I preferred its versatility over my rolls (which amounted to about a 20 point buy anyway), explanation after the spoiler, alongside with my HP roll.
Spoiler
Bonus and level up went to Str, which was originally 15.

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, do Human Oracles get the +1 spell of lower level favored class bonus option?
Re: Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave [Pathfinder, Forgotten Realms, Recruiting]
Going with a significantly refluffed Zen Archer Monk. Career soldier turned mercenary, uses sheer grit and gumption as his "Ki". Loyal, sticks to his principles, but is otherwise as far removed from asceticism as a Lawful man can get. He is trying to improve, though.
Character sheet is here. still a work in progress as I get fluff and inventory completed tonight.
Re: Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave [Pathfinder, Forgotten Realms, Recruiting]
Up to the DM to decide whether I can reroll, whether I have to accept the reroll even if it's worse, etc. For now I'll stick with what I got since it's a little above average.
Re: Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave [Pathfinder, Forgotten Realms, Recruiting]
Here is Finerel, my Elf Zen Archer. I've changed him to a Sun Elf since I didn't like how contrived my back story needed to be to get the Wild Elf stats. He still needs his mundane gear and his magic item consumables but other than that he is all set (I figure those are minor enough to wait and fill in if I am accepted).
Re: Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave [Pathfinder, Forgotten Realms, Recruiting]
Is there a specific hour you want the characters in by tomorrow? I'm finished with the basic background but I'd like some time to refine it, and it's getting pretty late here.
EDIT: I also want to make sure; can my character be a member of the Moonstars?

I'm going to start reviewing the sheets now and will be deciding the group later. If you want to complete your sheet you better get working quickly.
Your character can be a member of the Moonstars but there wont be much if any focus on the Moonstars in this campaign.
@Athaleon: Can you please put down the weights of all your gear. I am enforcing those rules. Also, your attack bonus seems very wonky You should have +10 to hit from my under standing: 3 b.a.b + 5 wisdom + 1 magic item +1 weapon focus = +10. You have +11 written for some reason and your flurry of blows attack bonus is higher? The b.a.b. from flurry of blows doesn't give you a better to hit until 9th level when instead of making attacks at +6/+1 you're making attacks at +7/+7/+2/+2.
Are you adding the Flurry of Blows attack bonus to your normal attack bonus? That's not how it works if you are, you take the Flurry of Blows attack bonus instead of your normal base attack bonus when making a flurry of blows.
You are indeed allowed to reroll any 1's you roll for hit points, I stated this on page 3 or 4 I believe.
@King Tius: I noticed you have two traits that add trait bonuses to initiative. Trait bonuses don't stack so you'd take the higher of the two bonuses (+2 I believe) and apply that. You may take a different trait if you like.
@Larpus: They do if you take that as your favored class bonus.
@Everyone: I'm going to start to review the completed sheets now and I'll let everyone know who made it into the game later this evening.
Re: Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave [Pathfinder, Forgotten Realms, Recruiting]
@Tevin: Would you let me take Honored Fist of the Society (Monk, Pathfinder Society)? It increases my Ki pool by 1 point. If not that, I'll probably take Anatomist.
Re: Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave [Pathfinder, Forgotten Realms, Recruiting]
Ok, rerolling HP. The question was whether I had to stick with the reroll, even if it was worse. (3d8)[1][1][3](5)
Inventory has been updated with item weights, and I fixed his attack rating with the bow. I must still have been thinking in "flurry" mode with BAB equal to Monk level.
To be honest, I was confused about calculating the Flurry of Blows attack rating. It says "For the purpose of these attacks, the monk's base attack bonus from his monk class levels is equal to his monk level", and it seems incoherent if we're then supposed to ignore his BAB and use his FoB Attack Bonus from the table.
Eitri was always a serious child, an oddity among the Inguaakalikurit. A society that lives in the moment, where heroes fade after two generations into obscurity. And in this society, Eitri instead thought to the future.
Eitri learned all of what his tribe had to offer. The path of a warrior, the path of a hunter. He learned riddling with the other children, applying his patient mind to overcome them. Eventually. And he thought, equally patiently, on his tribes quirks and patterns.
At 50 years of age, young Eitri thought of the tribes commitment to the community, how a warrior would give his life to protect it even knowing he would not be remembered long. In order for life to continue, at least one dwarf must put others lives before his own. Eitri looked down at his arms, saw the power he had within them, and realized that the power he had forced him to make a choice; accept his role and protect others over himself, or reject it and live for himself. He once again considered, but the answer was made for him. A great danger faced his people, and without thinking Eitri put his own life on the line in order to protect them. Yet he made a choice that caused his people to shun him. Eitri left his people, safe, and never returned.
Jungle (Entry)
Spoiler
Eitri plows through the undergrowth steadily, most of his companions behind him struggling to keep up. Variel, a sharp-eyed air genasi former thief, and Thom, a shaman from the wild and the only one keeping pace with Eitri, had both noticed someone watching them, but they weren't certain whether it was friend or foe. Eitri left the sneaker to them and concentrated on clearing the way for them and Etune and Mazon, a halfling sorceress and a gray orc warrior woman, respectively.
The jungle was a dangerous place, and that was why Eitri was there. He went where he felt he was needed most. The others had their own motivations; ranging from self preservation to greed to goodwill, and Eitri didn't really care one way or another about why they were there. They were watching his back and that was enough. If only they would do something about that spy scrambling after them...
Jungle (Encounter)
Spoiler
As far as wake up calls go, being tickled in the nose with a spear was not one of the best Eitri had ever experienced. Depressingly, neither was it one of the worst. It was a good thing they'd planned for this.
Etune lowered the veil she'd put up to hide herself, Thom and Variel, and Mazon sprang up from her bedsheets fully clothed. The illusions where the others forms had been melted away.
They were fast, but Eitri was closer to the attacker. In the surprise following the commotion, Eitri slapped the spear aside and erupted from the ground, closing in and grabbing the wrist of his attacker. He looked more closely and...
Huh. It was a woman. A naked woman. A naked, dwarven woman, with almost wild eyes and hair, holding a wooden spear. Well, that caught Eitri off guard, which probably explains how she was able to kick him in the face. Eitri staggered a bit, but remained standing and kept a hold of her wrist. She was... very flexible, and kept trying to escape. [Why are you following us?] he asks in dwarven. She looks momentarily surprised, and frowns down at him. Eitri continues, [Why did you point your spear at me?]. She speaks in what seemed to be a dialect of dwarven, but Eitri has some difficulty keeping up. Eitri knits his brow, thinking.
Jungle (Fight)
Spoiler
He'd gotten his wish. Eitri was standing in front of a snake man that meant to kill a lot of people, and already had started. He didn't hesitate. He felt Thom and Etune's spells wash over him, granting him strength, and shared a fierce grin with Mazon. Variel had already disappeared, but he'd pop up soon enough. He bounded forward, axe whirling - and was met by another snake man's sword. He tried to over power the new foe, but had little leverage. Mazon was already trading blows with the priest, and came away with half a dozen minor cuts. Eitri concentrated on the task at hand. The soldier was strong and, well, quick as a snake. When he tried putting the pressure on, his blows were turned aside. He was stubborn though, and he focused on a single spot. He attacked, again and again, the same spot, with all his force behind it. His blows kept getting turned aside, but the snake-man was tiring. It needed to change the game. Eitri saw it coming, so when it whipped it's head forward to bite him, he cut it off at the neck.
Back to the priest. Mazon's cuts had worsened, and she was breathing heavily. Eitri streaked across the field. He saw that he hadn't been the only one busy, as the other 7 yuan-ti lay around dead or dying, but he payed it no mind. The priest looked around and made a quick decision, slithering into the undergrowth.
Eitri felt himself being held back, and turned to look at Mazon gripping his arm. "Come on, we have to go after him!"
Mazon shakes her head and collapses.
Etune looked worried, screaming, "Thom, help her!"
Thom got right to work. Her wounds had been poisoned, and she needed immediate and prolonged attention in order to survive.
Eitri looks off, frustrated, into the woods, but knows he won't be able to keep up with the snake-man. "Come on then. Maybe the jungle dwarves will help." A sled is fashioned, and Eitri does his best to get her into the carriage, and they set off, hoping for a miracle.
Moonstars
Spoiler
Eitri watched the struggle silently. He'd seen the woman being drawn into the shadows, and he'd moved to help, but this man had been quicker. He seemed competent, but he had half a dozen foes and he didn't see the man at his back with a knife.
Eitri did, and he came crashing down on the knife wielder, slaying him instantly. The other concerned citizen danced, his own knife appearing in hand, and killed two of the attackers while Eitri chopped the legs out from under another. The remaining attackers scattered, and the woman was long gone.
Dwarf and man locked eyes for a moment, standing amongst the dead bodies. The stranger opened his mouth to speak first, "You didn't have to help me. Why did you?"
Eitri grunts, saying "Someone had to."
This answer seems to surprise the man, as all he can say is, "... What?"
"Someone had to help. I was here. So I did."
The man looked at the bodies, pursing his lips. "I think I should invite you to meet someone I know. I think anyone willing to help a complete stranger will be welcomed."
Eitri looked at them as well. The cuts on the two he hadn't touched were very neat, very precise. "What exactly do you mean?"
The man licked his lips, saying, "Only that there is a group of people willing to put their lives on the line to save others, and I think you'd be welcome to join. Are you interested?"
A group of people like Eitri? People who'd come to the same conclusion he did? Well, yeah, he was interested. "Sounds interesting. Where to then?"
Of course, it wasn't so simple as that...
Wheloon
Spoiler
Investigate Wheloon. Pretty simple orders. Eitri wasn't even really certain if he'd become a full member yet, but he was sure they wouldn't want him speaking of what else he'd done so far. Secret societies are a pain. Eitri saw the notice, and was interested. "A riddle? That's odd. Is that something they would want me to check out?" Eitri scratches his beard, looking at the notice. Well, it couldn't hurt to check.
very nice
At level 4 he would be a rogue1/druid3 with a spider companion. Here is the sheet. Have used the base 3.5 stats for now. Will refrain from fleshing him out for now in case this thread turns out to be regrettably dead.
Reading through the pages I found that the deadline was the 23rd of august. Though no choices seem to be made. That might dwindle my chance significantly. As the dm states in the OP however this campaign is for the long haul, so I figure it likely he'll return.

Re: Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave [Pathfinder, Forgotten Realms, Recruiting]
Hello everyone, I have returned from some unfortunate circumstances and would still like to get this game underway. Although what happened is personal, after such a long absence I feel obligated to let everyone know why I've been inactive for so long. Sadly my girl friend had a terrible car accident a few days before the original deadline of this game. She was in a coma for a little over a week and is now recovering from a spinal injury but thankfully things have been going well as of late.
During all of this starting the game up was the last thing in my mind but now that things have settled down and are slowly getting back to normal I find myself with some free time. So, provided the original candidates are still interested I'd like to start as soon as possible. I'll let those who posted before the original deadline make on appearance here to let me know if they are still interested and then from that group I will choose the party. I'll leave this open until Monday and if not enough of the original interest is still interested or around I'll re-open the thread to new interest.
Re: Cormyr: The Tearing of the Weave [Pathfinder, Forgotten Realms, Recruiting]
Holy cow, thank god she survived! I am relieved to hear that she is recovering and wish you and her all the best. Having a loved one in a coma is a terrible, terrible burden to bear and thank goodness she has come out of it and is on the long road to recovery.
As to starting this game back up I am certainly still in. I'd recommend sending PMs to the people who submitted characters as they may no longer be subscribed to the thread. If you'd like some help with that I'd be more than happy to assist.
