I was just taken bakc by the statement: ALL THE GIRLS
Lol, a little sexist, but it is all of the female characters. I say characters because I don't know who of the posters are male and female, only the ones with a icon.
Miriam has been taught there is an hierarchy in the Realms and she is a farmer's daughter. She has been told what to do since forever, first in the church, then by Calric (although with different motives) so this is why she is so unsure of herself sometimes.
Natalia does not come out has having an inferiority complex. Coffee post and her dice on dice off approach make it more feel like Natalia is useless rather than the character herself.
Mithril does not come out at all with an inferiority complex. Just a refreshing pure naivete.
Okay...This obviously isn't working. I'm about to go, so I think instead Natalia's going to climb the tree, which she probably won't be able to do, and then drop down a noose, or set a snare if she can't climb the tree, which she can do. If she can climb the tree, then she'll fire crossbow bolts down after setting the snare. Can anyone help her climb up?
And yeah, I think the main problem is that the "dice on, dice off," approach makes Natalia feel like the most inconsistent of the characters.
Natalia makes more rolls than say Mithril, simply because of the nature of her character. Mithril uses a lot of no-risk spells, and has relatively high modifiers in the few skills she uses, Natalia has to do a lot more.

Yeah...That kinda stinks.

Shooting from a tree is a great idea. I'm less sure about the trap since it will take time to set up and the orcs could just avoid it.
That's what I meant in terms of time- you could fire a crossbow instead, and depending on their HP totals that could kill them a round earlier.
As for the number of rolls and "consistency"- Shiny faces a lot of rolls, namely Will saves, and each of them either succeeds or fails entirely. Same with Kurt or Valen and their attack rolls. (Valen's melee bonus is the same as Natalia's ranged, so it's not like he's hitting more regularly).
I suspect the main reason Natalia feels inconsistent is that you take failures too personally.
I understand, but that's neither an approach nor a real phenomenon, just an illusion. And it doesn't happen to one character any more than to others.
I agree but Coffee takes it personally. Instead of understanding it is just rolls and there is not skill involved in a roll which is by itself a neutral even, Coffee sees it as a measure of the worthiness of her character.
So instead of blaming the gods (ST. Cuthbert why did you abandon me in such a crucial moment), she blames herself. Even after a critical and 2 kills.
As an FYI, Miriam is still at zero kill and got 1 critical.
@Natalia
I agree with Shiny, shooting your crossbow may be more effecting. Your climb the tree action would have been, move to climb, standard to make a noose, then another standard action for a ranged touch attack.
Making a noose, then using a range touch attack with 10ft range increment would work for an entangle equal to your use rope. Opposed by a strength check.
I think one more crossbow shot then jump in with two weapons and flank for your sneak attack damage, that is likely to be the most effective solution.
I don't know Mithril how many kills Mithril has. It is either zero or 1.
That is likely to change in a level or two, at lvl 2 spells you get some amazingness know as scorching ray. And at 5th level your damage output can burn down towns, sunder walls, etc. Mages start slow, but become nasty.
Oh, FYI, I made two small changes to Valen, I wasn't really fealling his familiar, just doesn't feel right for him so I dropped it. Since he won't have very many levels in Sorcerer anyway, I figured it was fair to not get anything for it. But, I did go with Whirling Frenzy instead of rage, i feel that it fits the character concept better. Also, makes Kurt and Valen different as they were mechanically similar. Now if it only lasted more than 5 turns...
If anyone has a problem with this, let me know and I will change it back.

I have a problem with it: the problem is that you shouldn't multiclass barbarian and sorcerer in the first place
Have you considered instead doing barbarian/warmage? A warmage is like a sorcerer but it comes with all battle spells, and also can cast while wearing light armor.

That is very funny, I know it looks like a weak multiclass, but there are only ever 2-3 levels of Sorcerer(probably Barb2(3?), Sorc2, Figter1), I use it for shield and mage armor. At lvl 6 I will be going Dragon Disciple for 10 levels so long as the game keeps on going. He starts slow but gains ground. Plus, he gets to run around half naked swinging a big sword.
Oh, and yes I did look at Warmage, but I wanted an unarmored fighter that could go Dragon disciple, means I need shield and Mage armor from Sorcerer.
From Miriam point of view, this is a huge plus. Not that she would look at him. She is a good girl.
For now... his savage and carnal charm will win her over, their bickering is just a sadistic form of foreplayflirting! LOL!! Now that would be a funny couple!

But... you wouldn't need mage armor, you could just wear light armor as a warmage, which gives +4 to armor anyway. It's just using up a spell slot (and a precombat round to cast it). He could even wear a buckler. And the Dragon Disciple isn't hurt by this at all- nothing's stopping the disciple from wearing armor (as long as he gets the proficiency from a different class).
In return he gets a list of over a dozen level 1 spells like True Strike, Fist of Stone, Burning Hands, and the Lesser Orbs, not to mention a little more HP.
That's a pretty huge sacrifice in exchange for getting to run around in a loincloth!

Yeah .. except she still think Valen wants Natalia and she is not into the big silent mysterious type. And she likes her men with a little bid less blood o ntheir hands .....
