Okay. And huh, he was decently leveled. IC post in a couple hours.
[roll0]
Yes he was, you guys should have known that when he took a full attack on the ship and shot two arrows! He had 53HP even, but he didn't fare so well against three raging Orc barbarians all on his own.
Still a thoughtless way to go. And what do you mean by odd gold pieces?
I'm leaving and going on the flight back home tonight; don't expect more posts for about 24 hours. Here's Natalia's agenda:
She wants to bring in this orc and interrogate him along with the pups; the leader should have more info on the raid and future ones than the minions.
She's going to identify the vial's contents, probably with Mithril and Valen's help. She'll also appraise the gold necklace and figure out what's odd about the gold pieces.
She'll help bury Morton; if he must be buried with a weapon then she'll suggest the most useless one Shiny, Miriam, Mithril, and the guards took off the orc pups, saying, "Dead weapon for a dead man."
Concerning item distribution, I think the group should keep whatever was found on Morton, and the miscellaneous items found on the orcs. For the armor and weapons on the orcs, Kurt and Valen should get first pick, followed by Henry and the two guards who came with us, followed by the rest of the guardsmen.
Eh, some decisions worked out and some didn't. Decision to speed up was good, decision to go out and kill them was...not as good. But since we couldn't be sure whether or not it was a raiding party aimed at the town or who was going to find an easier target to hit, we dealt with the threat we knew about and left the town prepared to deal with threats which we couldn't be sure would materialise.
Mithril and Shiny are led to a small room off the Town Hall that served as it's jail, a simple room with wooden walls and a thick wooden door. A small hole in the door allows you to see in. Once the Orcs are inside the Guards close and bar the door, saying in place, obviously not accustomed to operating in this capacity.

Agreed, things worked out much better then they would have had the party not helped. Things would have been terrible if they hadnt sped up.

I think there will be some arguments on practicality from some of the others. Good thing Valen already packed most of them away.
I'm surprised Kurt is trying to be nice to the Orc considering the racial hatred. I'd expect him to want to execut the Orc.Edit: I suppose he could be talking about executing thm.
How would Valen know not to mention Mortins equipment?
Well she will ask about Mortin and when finding out he is dead will feel guilty and offer to conduct a service. She will not ask about his goods as long as he is dressed. She might even find Natalia putting a useless weapon on his tomb a touching act.

She does not have the looter mentality.
Works for me, though Valen will need to distribute some of it. Not to mention if Kurt or Natalia saw him taking the stuff.
Do we roll initiative? Shiny would like to try putting the uncharmed orc to sleep, and I want to know how that fits in with any attacks or counter attacks.(Charming one of them while they're in there together is a very low Wisdom Shiny thing to do).

Well, the first attack actually knocks the charmed Orc unconscious, he'll likely be beaten to death. You can sleep, it will give both orcs and Miriam or Mithril a save, I'll roll it to determine who has to save.
No initiative necessary, assume you can act, ie orc then everyone in order befor orcs act again.
That would be hilarious, if Mithril took to snoozeville. Although she will be royally annoyed. If Shiny gives any warning she will cast resistance on herself and Miriam, using two of the ones she prepared long ago in the morning.
I will have you know that I started laughing in the airport when I read what Shiny did. My dad and I think some other person on the flight were staring at me. We really need to put him on a leash. And don't worry, Natalia won't tell if Kurt and Valen won't tell...
Shiny, do you want all the girls pissed at you?
Also, what would had happened if we hadn't picked up the pace? Would we have walked in on a smoking ruin? See you guys tomorrow around...Midday, when I'm jetlagged and exhausted, then I'm off to college! Athedia, you're gonna love it.
(Also, I just saw the experience totals. Just a little bit more and I get more sneak attack, penetrating strike, and weapon finesse! Also, when do you get the ability score boosts again? )

If the group hadn't picked up the pace, Linwood would have been attacked, a small 6 man party from the south attempts to burn down the townhall and draw forces south. Once done, the larger force would attack from the North burning down the granary and lumbermill, possibly any other target of opportunity. Most likely at least 6 dead guards and a ruined economy for maybe a dead Orc or two..
Also, about that potion, you could sample a tiny amount to try and figure it out. I'll say you believe it to be some form of Orc made cure potion.

But Mortin would have been there even if we hadn't hurried. (Or would he have been drawn off to fight the raiding party like we were?

All depends. He may have drawn off had the raiding arty been detected, or he may have beak ready been in a drunken stupor in the inn. Either way Linwood would have been completely unprepared.m not to mention what could if happened to Henry.
