But Mortin would have been there even if we hadn't hurried. (Or would he have been drawn off to fight the raiding party like we were?
All depends. He may have drawn off had the raiding arty been detected, or he may have beak ready been in a drunken stupor in the inn. Either way Linwood would have been completely unprepared.m not to mention what could if happened to Henry.
Oh man, that would have been bad. Anyway, I'm horribly jetlagged so I may or may not fall asleep for a few hours. Hopefully I will. And this scene in the cell is quickly becoming farcical. Maybe we could set it to music?
well she is just glad it hit shiny, and not her, max or miriam. She really doesn't want the one orc to kill the other and isn't bluffing, she will encourage Shiny to charm the uncharmed one if it kills the charmed one.

Well, Kurt's carrying most of the orcs' gear and Valen's got Morton and his stuff.
You may want to ask for Kurt's help, otherwise the trip back will take hours, and fatigue you to exhaustion. Not to mention that there is a chance he'll regain consciousness, or die along the way.
Healing him and reviving him have their own consequences as well.

Okay. Yeah, that makes sense. I'll do that, edit my post.
Question: Does your BAB add to your damage rolls in addition to your attack rolls?
Not really, the orc Was AC 10 and possibly flanked.
Nope, BAB is simple your bonus to hit. Damage is only increased for melee from strength, weapon specialization, weapon enhancement bonuses, critical hits, or other bonus dice such as sneak attack damage, etc.

Ah, okay. So weapon finesse will take care of that too, right?

Not quite, weapon finesse swaps Dex for Str for your to hit in melee, you still work damage off of your Str score.
Duelist when combined with bracers of armor can add damage and be effective with precise strike, buts its only with single weapon fighting.
Also Dervish Prestige class from Complete Warrior wouldn't be a bad 2 level dip for your character if you want to deal a bit more damage in combat and make more attacks. Though the Dervish dance is dicey if you don't have that many ranks in perform dance.
Or, if you are willing to spend three levels on it, Swashbuckler from Complete Warrior would be a great multiclass for you. It gets weapon finesse for free at first level, and at 3rd level gets to add your Int bonus to damage in addition to Strength! Not to mention its a d10 Hit Dice, still gets 4 skill points per level, a Full BAB progression, and good Fort Saves.
I'm sure there are other good alternatives that won't alter your ability to get your Trapsmith Prestige class.
Or, as mentioned before, two levels in Fighter gives you an additional two feats which can greatly affect your combat capabilities.

Hm...Yeah, I really need to think about all these. I'm still going Trapsmith first though, since it's more in-character for Natalia. Except that if I get weapon finesse for free, then I'd be wasting a feat...Would I be able to swap it out once I went Swashbuckler?

You could go swashbuckler for the next three levels and still make trapsmith on time. Or only slightly delayed if you took two more rogue levels before trapsmith.

Holy crap, the daring outlaw feat is amazing. But I have to be at least rogue 3/swashbuckler...What level do you get grace? Zman, could I take weapon finesse now and then switch it out later for another fear? Because I'm not sure what to take here instead; I was always banking on weapon finesse.
I mean, aahh I don't know what order to take things. Swashbuckler's looking fantastic with that feat, just take 3 levels of it then back to rogue if I want until rogue 10 for skill mastery, of course with three levels of trapsmith.

3rd: Swashbuckler. Take rapid reload(Hand Crossbow) or rapid shot
4th: Swashbuckler
5th: Swashbuckler
6th: Rogue. Take Daring Outlaw.
7th: Rogue for Uncanny Dodge.
8th: Trapsmith.

How about that?
Or maybe 3rd Swashbuckler, 4th Rogue, 5th and 6th Swashbuckler, 7th Rogue, and 8th Trapsmith? Also, I'm sorry for asking about dipping into other books, and I realize I'm doing it a lot, but for my 3rd level feat...I just found Craven. But then again, it's not really in character for Natalia, at least with Swashbuckler you could make the case that's she's trying to look cool to impress her new friends, but she's not exactly craven. I'll think about it.
And hm...Maybe she could do something with Torin and Karik for the Trapsmith class. Here's hoping we get that far!

I'm saying no to Craven. It's a poorly designed feat.
And it is very possible to run into those two again.

Okay, that's fine. So what feat to take in a bit...Aaah I wish I could take the sneak attack now. It's okay though; we'll just have to level up quickly! Shall we fast forward to the party arriving at town?
Natalia would be very happy to see her mentors again.
...Now I don't know whether to take that or regular trapsmith.
IMO its better for how you want to play your character, Trapsmith is more elaborate traps and planning, something that will come up rarely in game, now a Combat Trapsmith is much more useful day to day as an adventurer and can use their traps anywhere with only a moments notice.
Hello, sorry to interrupt, and I also apologize if this post is poor etiquette. I'm fairly new to D&D and was curious what a PbP game would really be like... So I randomly picked your game threads (IC and OOC) to read through, to get a feel for what to expect if I play one.
Good decision.
I just registered to the forums so that I could compliment you on your game and your role-playing, which are impressive and inspiring. I like how well your characters' personalities are defined, as well as your handling of meta knowledge. It's exciting to see people who are so good at telling a story together! Have fun with your game! I hope you don't mind a random spectator. :-)

I know, it's just that Haste and Dimension Door are extremely appealing. Ah well, I've got potentially several months and levels to think about it.
