Hello, sorry to interrupt, and I also apologize if this post is poor etiquette. I'm fairly new to D&D and was curious what a PbP game would really be like... So I randomly picked your game threads (IC and OOC) to read through, to get a feel for what to expect if I play one.
Good decision.
I just registered to the forums so that I could compliment you on your game and your role-playing, which are impressive and inspiring. I like how well your characters' personalities are defined, as well as your handling of meta knowledge. It's exciting to see people who are so good at telling a story together! Have fun with your game! I hope you don't mind a random spectator. :-)
Cool, don't mind a spectator at all. You couldn't have picked a better game, it's the best PbP game I've ever seen. Great players, fast post speeds, amazing.

Why, thank you!
Haste is almost pointless for Trapsmith, especially if you are only taking three levels. At first and second levels it actually costs your two weapon fighter attacks!
Dimension door is cool, but I wouldn't do Trapsmith for just that.

Thank you, it's nice to have spectators. Makes me feel special
It's exciting to follow! It went so quickly, I was surprised I'd already caught up with the present time (I picked one of the longer threads). I can't wait to see what happens next.
Anyway, I wasn't planning to post again, since this is a functional thread for you, but I didn't want you to think I was ignoring all of the thanking. So, you have a spectator, but I'm going to be keeping quiet and out of the way. But thanks for being friendly, and a superb example.
Sorry, I was at a dance. First one in ages and had lots of fun. Mithril is staying back, Shiny and Miriam are better at the interrogating side of things.

I feel really honored to have a spectator.
Curiosity question: Why picking up this campaign among the 1,000s on the site?
Ha, those pictures are brilliant. And the title is "Modified Tempered Stable Distributions and GARCH Modelling" with a subtitle of "Conditional HeteroSkewness and the Predictive Value of Higher Order Moments for Financial Returns Data".

Why thank you! And yeah, you're right. I could always UMD it anyway.

It's more interesting than it sounds, I swear.
I thought they were cool, a how i picture your character moment, or as close as i could get.
Actually, I do find it interesting, and am jealous that I only understand a relatively small amount of what I've read up on it!
After the turmoil and quick action you take a good look at Max, he's nearing 50, walks like a man worn to the bone. But, it's his face which holds your attention, some deep scars and one eye had been removed in a violent fashion. He begins to question the Orc again...
After a few moments of discourse, "He says they are led by the Eyes of Gruumsch..." he visible falters, clenching **** the place where his eye once was, "he says one is a strong warrior, and the other is a mighty priest to the father. I think i met this priest in my younger years, fanatical and vile for an Orc, uses jis own removed and desicatedeye as a talismen to his vile god. Their tribe has somehow come to an uneasy peace with the other powers in the area, the Ogres, the Gnolls, and Hill Giants. This has let them focus on removing the 'softskins'. He also says, they will never stop fighting, they are Orcs..."
Alarm bells are going off; what happened to his eye? Also, who is he talking to? Miriam's group, or Kurt's group?
That potion taste like most cure potions, though vile. Myou don't know ifmyoud keep it down long enough to receive the healing effects. Treat it as a Cure Moderate Wounds Potion with a DC10 Fort save to not spit it out. If you spit it out, it only heals 1 point. Orcs are immune.

I figured that it was enough to start healing a bit, though not enough to actually do anything. I was just trying to describe how Natalia was able to identify it. (Also, I posted above you)

Miriums group, this conversation is taking lace before we get back.
And that Cleric tortured him, took his eye, and let him live, for fun.
Yeah...I don't think we're strong enough to take on the leaders of the tribe, and we're definitely not strong enough to take on gnolls, ogres, and hill giants. What happens if we remove the orcs from the equation? And why focus on the humans?
Also, I was thinking, and I'm doubting this is the place to bring the orphaned demihumans once things are safe. It's too dicey with the gnolls, ogres, and hill giants around, and I doubt they'd take in the half-orc kid.

Coffee, you are jumping the gun. First we secure the town, then we go after cleaning up the orcs or calming them down. IF the gnolls and ogres and hill giants have not been an issue up until now, they should be OK. Unless someone is behind agitating these tribes .....

Well, we need to get an idea of how strong the tribe leaders are. What levels were the orc veterans and the one we brought back? Three? Four? Minimum, we'll all have to level up and use Morton's nice gear, whatever it is.

That's what I'm starting to think too. I think we may have found a longer plotline!
And we also have to keep a promise to the kids...Hey! If we can't find a place for them, how about we make our own?

Stop worrying about the level of the enemy and so on. This is metagaing and believe me, in the long run, it will take away a lot of fun. Just focus on the fact that you have an orc tribe at war led by a strong warrior and a cleric. There will be veterans, young one, some with better armor than other and so on. Focus on how we protect the town and end the orc threat.

Miriam has not forgotten. But she also not want to have to worry that she puts the orphans in a place where they still be in danger.
Sorry Miriam, I don't think your lectures will have much effect. Some gnomes aren't looking for money, or respect. Some gnomes can't be ordered, or reasoned with. Some gnomes just want to put the world to sleep.

LOL. She is just worried about him. She knows there is little she can do short of a straight jacket. All she can do it try. The gnome is smart even if he has no common sense. MAy be at one point he will learn of little ....

No. No he won't. I can just imagine him and Serrin.
