Hello, everyone, and welcome to the thread for the discussion, celebration and support of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Asexual, Allied, and Queer individuals, the "pinched from Mystic Muse" edition no less!
Here's the in-thread rules!
No adult sexual content. *It's against site rules.
Let's keep things as A-political as possible.
Similarly, try to leave religion out of it.
NO discussing if LGBTAetc. is "good" or "right" for the above reasons, mostly.
Everyone is welcome. *L, G, B,T, A, Q, A, N, V, P, R, Q, Ω, ♅, everyone. *As long as they behave themselves.
If you have a question or two about LGBTA+, you can ask it here! You can ask for advice and support in here.
In addition, many members are willing to give private advice one on one, either through email or PM. *The best ways to do this are initiating the PM, or asking for PM help in thread.
And the community's previously posted list of Thousand&Wordster Dictionary of Commonly Used LGBTAitP Words and Phrases, originally scribed by AThousandWords (now Qaera) and added to thereafter.

New thread! Hugs and cookies for everyone who wants them!
My feet are a Euro 43. That's bigger than my father's feet, and bigger than most stores have. And I have flatfeet, so I need shoes where my orthopedic insoles fit in. Buying shoes is always stressful.

Yesterday I asked my friend if she got my letter. She said yes, and that she needs time to think about the answer. I'm not sure if that's good or bad news. *shrug*

Good news? Well, I came out to another friend yesterday. He's gay, so you could make the case that I was cheating because he's a low-risk, but it was still kinda scary. But it went well . That's one more down!
Women sizes up to 16, men sizes up to 20. Next step for the guys is a canoe.
Ooh! *Peruses*

Oh, good luck, Lucy! I'm sending you the bestest wishes possible!
Bah. Had another go at using adhesive on my breast forms today. Still can't make them stick >_>
Sorry. Adhesives seem to have a mind of their own. They stick when you don't want them to, and don't when you do.
One of my new co-workers is about to have her first baby, and she's been talking to all the other mothers that sit nearby about being pregnant, and its starting to make me depressed...
Bleh, I can empathise a little with that. My twin sister's due to have her first child this week, which means I will be "Uncle <real name redacted>". I feel like I'm 60 years old or something. -.-

Sometime yesterday?

Yup.
I've been a US 11.5 since I was maybe thirteen, and I stopped growing at about 5'9 and a smidge (175 or 176 cm) at fourteen. But doctors estimated I'd be 6'2 or 6'3 (188 or 190 cm). Hopefully that won't happen.
Good luck finding shoes when you're done growing.

I'm 12, 12.5 iirc. They carry my size JUST. In male shoes. As long as they don't get an inch larger.
My grandfather is a US 13. I think he manages to find shoes at some of the special fancy shoes places because he needs extra support and whatnot anyway at 87 years old.
So, I admit I'm kind of annoyed with the whole "gay men don't get to be happy" thing in so much media. It seems like if a gay couple is going to form/stay together, they have to be lesbian. Even my webcomics seem to be getting in on it, consciously or not. Questionable Content doesn't have any major gay male characters, but Dora and Tai are on a date. El Goonish Shive is fairly queer friendly, but we've got a second lesbian couple before Justin (who was introduced well before any of the lesbian stuff) has found anyone.

You may have something with this, Golly. Menage a 3 is another example that springs to mind. The character of Dhillon is one of the sweetest and nicest people in the strip and he's gay. He's also had to put up with an enormous amount of rubbish - his bisexual boyfriend cheating on him, being forced to do questionable things with a female co-star to forward his career and a heartbreaking case of unrequited love on the main male star of the strip.
There is hope though. Coffee's Murphy's Law strip features two gay paladins that are very much in love, despite being apart.

That sort of thing seems way to common to me, too.
A lot of the anti-gay rhetoric I have the misfortune to hear is disproportionately aimed at gay men, too. Heck, both that picturebook noparlpf linked to, as well as the two main "theories" that it explains in passing (early childhood abuse and absent fathers) are also solely directed towards males.

That's because lesbians are hot.
The sad part is that even though I'm personally being sarcastic, that's probably a large part of why media is more okay with lesbian couples.

This is the exact point I was making in another thread on here.
A lot of men find sapphic intercourse to be a turn on but I've always wondered whether cis-sexual (is that right?) women find two men enjoying kissy-fun-time a turn on as well.
I think this is what's wrong with folks in general. Men tend to be a lot more expressive about things that they find sexy and society tries to cater for it. Women, on the other hand, seem to be a lot more restrained about their desires, although it's something that slowly seems to be changing. It would be nice and a strong step towards equality if both genders views were equally and honestly catered for.
Another way to look at it is the classic succubus/incubus problem. When a succubus seduces a man, it's seen as being fun and very sexy. When an incubus seduces a woman, it comes across as very creepy with overtones of rape. It's curious, isn't it.

Judging from the responses over at SGU, many of them do. And I think KenderWizard has said that one of her fondest dreams was seeing Thor and Loki (from the movie) making out.

I haven't found cis-sexual women being turned on by gay sex as prevalent as cis-sexual men being turned on by lesbian sex. That might be why it's not so prominently featured?

That may be it, but remember than women hasn't been encouraged to express and explore their sexuality.

And that women are a lot more objectified in society; therefore making objectifying lesbian relationships more common. (Not that gay male relationships aren't objectified a lot either.)

Their joyous squees have been duly noted in my internal database. I also forgot about Kender's little fantasy. I think incubi need stronger representation in fantasy (both sorts ) literature. Maybe that's why succubi seemed to have developed the shape-shifting thing as a way of side stepping the issue. From the stuff I've read so far (fascinating topic btw) succubi in classical mythology could disguise themselves to an extent but never taking on a completely different gender. Another thing that crops up is that almost all encounters are heterosexual in nature. There's no gay incubi or succubi. Modern literature seems to be working on it slowly but they're still fairly few and far between.

It could mean a lot of things. I hope it all works out, hun.
