I suppose I could take the chance. First, however, someone needs to post the information about the spiders IC, and I'll need some assistance in the lab.

About the spiders, I was asked what sort of poisonous wildlife there were in the area. Though the people marching on the ground are in limited danger, you guys are flying above and should be safe (unless something sneaks up aboard). This being said the first assault should begin on this game day, unless you fail at taking the fort on the first day there is little to fear from spiders. Cyrians aren't known for training vermin for battle or anything of the sort.

That's a relief. After we get settled at our new base of operations, I'll need to get my hands on proper equipment and materials. Also, I'm trying to find ways to join our Party together IC, rather than being scattered often.

That's understandable. You're fine, I'm just checking about the other players. I thought we were doing quite well in terms of pace until now. We've kinda hit a grinding hault...

It doesn't look like there is much that we can do to prepare until we get some resources behind us.

So don't worry I'm still here, my gf is doing slightly better and I can focus more on this again, but unfortunately the battle might still have to wait a day or two.
Just wanted to show I'm still interested in this.

Thanks for telling us. An important factor in PbP is communication

A few game stats,

Kassad
As a Lieutenant you have a command rating of 1 and you have a squad of 15 Deneith mercs under your command, Don't piss off the other players with rank but abuse of it or not as you wish when dealing with npcs. This command rating gives you access to a commander aura, which only works as long as you hold your rank and only for NPCs. So it doesn't affect PCs nor yourself. This is on top of your normal Marshal class powers, marshal auras work as per your class rules. (And no, command auras don't stack with each other)

You've had time to get to know the men under your command abit and I would like to know more about how your thinking of leading them, and how you would want them equipped and so on. They are generic lvl1 human warriors the lot of them, but keep them alive and they might make something of themselves one day.

Note both of these should remain within your leadership style, don't take protective commander if you're always ordering a charge

Works for tabletop, why not pbp? It's bad to get bogged down either way.
And if any issues arise we can just handle it in the ooc.
I for one have more of a knack for numbers and tactics, which is why I don't dm anymore, too much narration and worldbuilding needed :p.

In previous large scale combats that I've played in the PCs have been involved in one small part of the fight while the larger battle rages around them. We might have to assault a tower, told a hill, break a line, take out an enemy spell caster or something similar. The DM adjudicated the overall battle result based on our microcosm battle. If we won with 40% losses then the army won with 40% losses, etc. It's hardly scientific but it worked well.

Just a minor heads up: my schedule is going to be pretty hectic, though it should remain reasonably regular. I'm starting to run a pretty intense educational and after school program for underprivileged kids, so my days will be pretty thoroughly occupied. I'll definitely be able to update and read up on the thread once a day, but it may briefly be limited only to that much. Once my phone upgrade goes through (and I can get rid of the beater I've been temporarily using since my old one broke) next week, I should be able to occasionally go though via my phone. This shouldn't significantly effect the game, but I want everyone to be informed ahead of time.

The flag waving man is using Semaphore, an old navy method of communications, which Korisis should be able to translate, Ash should also reconize it but he probably couldn't translate too good. And since Korisis is kind've the unofficial comms guy I'll go with him.

The message means "All ships are to land immediately in this valley"

I'll probably do another short post tonight or tomorrow afternoon if I can't, I'll also do the next longer post tomorrow evening. Trying to get the game back on track

Umm. What do you want me to roll for it?

Perhaps a Knowledge(History) (1d20+8)[13]

I'm not really sure if I can just translate it without a check. Also, might I suggest I get a bonus on my check because of my linguisic and communications training?

WBL? becoming a better fighter doesn't win you the lottery, I give wealth according to my whims and how I can fit it in the story.

PS: it can be useful knowing how much you can carry, likewise I hate those endless bags.
