Well I'm looking for a ring of solar flight. I need a quicker way of getting around. Actually if that ring can change into a pair of gloves that would be extra good. that's all i can really think of right now, and with your permission may i decide what the aesthetics of this item is? If you even give it to me.

Vael's WONDERFUL LINK provided a particularly entertaining means of flight; Physical wings. Demonic, of course, would be preferred, but even big-feathery angel wings would be great... Ten thousand gold, though, is easy enough to deal with, especially since that was just what I had left over from creation. Now if only there was a particular type of person around here who managed to catch the fight willing to offer their services. Wink wink, nudge nudge, and whatnot.

Really now, if you want actual wings, I can give you wings beyond the scale of any mere surgeon. Much quicker as well, and probably with less pain and risk of nasty infections...

But hey, if Sebastian wants to go under the knife, who am I to stop him?

But yeah. A polymorph any object spell. I can cast it as part of being a Protean Avatar, and as the changes aren't amazingly drastic (same type, same species, same size and intelligence) it'll be permanent as well. You just have to ask.

(Sadly, I'm a few levels away from being able to say 'the floor is now Lava.' Something to work for, anyway)

Of course, even the best Polymorph any Object casting has a duration of permanent, not instantaneous. If you go that route, you may end up wishing you had taken a graft instead when someone dispels it, or we need to go into antimagic, or etc.

I am not a fan of permanent duration spells.

True enough. Though I know Realms expressed a distaste for Antimagic field, if you do get hit with a sufficiently powerful dispel magic... Well, your wings will vanish and you'll fall out of the sky. Which I concede might be a problem.

I can handle falling, I believe. I've got a couple tricks lying around for that kind of occasion. But wings are definitely something I will be asking for. Now to just figure out how.

My latest post is basically the Queen's appeal for some kind of reward. She takes worshipers and sacrifices without qualm!

I don't have any magic items or the like in mind for her, so unless you've got a nifty idea, I'd assume she'd just get coins or equivalent trade goods from sacrifices, and meanwhile, spreading her name and worship is good too.

Anyway, I've got a question: How are wings going to work with Sebastian if he has no 'points' in the fly 'skill'? I'm going to be a bumbling, staggering, spinning idiot, aren't I?

Don't worry too much about it, Toska Moriarty. First of all, it's a Dex-based skill. Secondly, having high maneuverability gives you an additional bonus to your checks. Third, the highest DC (outside of strong winds) is only 25 and only difficult tasks require a check in the first place.

Ni-i-i-ICE. Just went over it, and my odds of being able to pull off complicated manuevers are great, even during a hurricane. And no reason to be so formal with me, Roc; I respond plenty well to just 'Toska'. Was the name of my first character, actually. Go figure, though; He was a rogue.

Wasn't sure if you prefered "Toska" or "Moriarty" and some people can be quite particular about their screen names (especially with capitalization) so I've learned not to make too many assumptions.

If anyone here has a preference or pet peeve with screen names, now's the time to get it out there, I guess.

Edit: Also, I'm waiting for you guys to act right now. If it turns out that you've been waiting on me, though, I'll make sure that something happens tomorrow.

Well, I went and passed out for a bit longer than I was expecting, but that's the polymorphing scene done. Took advantage of the summoning to rope in a Succubus as a consultant on how to make Sebastians new wings look nice.

Speaking of the summoning scene, as I understand the spell, that does mean that we can confirm the Queen as neither lawful nor good. Erika isn't going to mind (she likes the queen, and doesn't really buy into most of the philosophy stuff), but individuals like the Paladin over there might.

And once again, hoping the Lady of Pain doesn't object to someone summoning four hundred demons into the city.

Anyway. Off to the Astral plane and these common grounds. Yay, adventure!

The fact that the Queen isn't Lawful has likely always been obvious. Evil, on the other hand...

While Planar Binding would be [Evil] when used in this way, technically she's not using Planar Binding, she's using Shades to mimic Planar Binding, so it wouldn't actually have the [Evil] tag.
Though that's a kind of silly argument, admittedly.
The more potent argument, if you ask me, is that the spell shouldn't have that tag at all. So summoning and binding a demon to your will is always evil? How does that make sense? It might be dangerous but summoning a demon in doesn't necessarily make you evil.

The Queen's argument, if asked, is that seemed to be better a choice than binding angels. You don't want to pull angels from their rightful tasks, especially in that number. Demons, on the other hand... if you can pull them from what they're doing, and successfully bind them, you basically take some of the biggest trouble makers and turn them into a force for good at the same time. And given her power, the demons pretty much can't resist her bindings at all, so it is pretty safe.

In any case, from my understanding Sigil is full of all kinds of wacky entities. A few hundred demons probably won't even be out of place.

Then theres a little side-bit where I'd like to have some time to use one of the Aspect Mirrors to contact Nesbythe about the extraordinarily bizarre poison I have on hand, sure he'd be interested....
Oh, and there are several large abhorrent bug-beasts scouring the various alleys of Sigil that could use some thorough stabbing....
Not to mention I need to find some way of paying Erika back...

The list, it seems, goes on and on. Yay.

Vael, I do have to admit you have a very good point in your argument. I didn't want to say anything until it was up in IC, but, Daniel CAN NOT argue with that logic. Almost wish I was playing myself for a little while so that I could have an intelligent debate with the Queen. Going to be posting a response shortly.
