Well, I'm beginning to get the hang of the Pyro (unless you uber me. Then I'll W+M1 like a madman) and the vanilla demoman (I gave away a Loch N Load because I sucked at hitting people with it.).
I'm also trying hard to be a good demoknight (with not such good results) and maybe a decent spy (I usually get a backstab and then die almost instantly)

In my mind, decent demoknight is a contradiction in terms.

Losing your sticky launcher is probably the biggest nerf you can give yourself. That thing is powerful.

Baby Face's Blaster is sub optimal as scout, and the Saharan Spy Set is tournament banned. =V

Also, I'm sad I didn't get a mention. Leader of the #1 UGC team and I don't even get a whisper.

ok this is how out of whack TF2 trading is.

if i go to the mann store and spend £3.98 i can get 2 keys.
if i spend £3.49 i can get a backpack extender which is worth 2.5-3 keys...

under what circumstance would i just buy keys?

When I sell them for 1.30 each. Or 1 Euro each (with your fees.).

Allow you to get the 3 keys garunteed out of the BP expander, which is considerably more difficult, and have .90 left over, almost enough for another key.

So I play LoL, and after like three freakin' months I got DotA 2. But it's so weird and different? I really enjoyed my first game, 0/5/1 against the easiest bots. Kept dying cause dem turrets are way different than Leaguey ones. I think I played someone named Luna? The unlocked camera, and buying stuff, and passive abilities were confusing at first. Anyone have tips?

Don't call them turrets (say towers), don't call heroes champions, don't call creeps minions. It will save your life inside the game.

Try to play as many heroes or look at them and see what their abilities do. Then, look at the items. There are a LOT of items with active abilities in Dota. Look at some pro games to see what people do, I recommend http://www.joindota.com/en/start , just look at what games are playing at the moment.

Heroes can do more roles in Dota, and lanes are not locked to a particular role like in LoL. You can have a solo carry bot or a trilane, dual lane mid, even rare weird crap like 5 man ganking squads from level 1. But for starters, a 2-1-2 strat works.

I just hope that if you own the game already, you get the item. I already have shogun and napoleon, and have no interest in rebuying them. On the other hand, that medic and spy outfit...so awesome!

I'd have to disagree there. B2 is definitely better than B1, don't get me wrong, but it's far more of an evolution than a quantum leap forward--in fact, it plays very much like an extremely large DLC for the first game in many ways.

Let me list some of the ways the sequel improves upon the first.

An actual plot that follows the quests.
Character development.
Character customization.
PhysX support (it's amazing!)
More colorful worlds.
A minimap.
More interesting class roles.
A much bigger game world.
Some of the best writing in a game, period.
Small tweaks, like being able to move around in Fight For Your Life, unique boss weapon drops being legendary, tons of easter eggs, and badass ranks.
