If you like current RTS's, both macro (like SupCom) or micro (like SC2), you probably won't like it. In Carrier Command you get a grand total of 8 units from two unit types. You customize them sure, but they are still two unit types.
Even if you feel no problem with the above you should wait a bit so they can patch out a lot of the bugs. Right now the pathfinding sucks. Yeah, the pathfinding in an RTS sucks.
Plus, it's singleplayer only.

IN TF2, I love it when I join a 32 person server, I get the 2nd highest person (I was the highest) to switch to a counter to my class and then go after me and when he gets killed killing me he says "worth it" in chat. Booya. (went 105 kills, 51 deaths, 28 assists, and 22 destructions). I was always in the top 3 for MVP.

Generally I stop once I get to 100 points, because by that point I generally am tired of the map. On any of the Valve servers it seems to be a weird mix of terrible people and actual good people. For example I've run around killing scouts and heavies and soldiers as a scout, then I get headshotted by a sniper who is running around on a spree, topping the enemy team.
If you're ever in a situation where you can't survive, go for the broke and fill all of creation with chickens. Just imagine the reaction of people halfway around the world when every square inch of space in their world is suddenly and completely full of chickens.

I like my games with one or two good people on each team surrounded by a layer of moving, ablative meat.

Please tell me some of you are going to pick up Guns of Icarus Online when it comes out?
I bought into the beta earlier this week and it's wicked fun. Nothing like trying to drive a rigid airship that by no rights should be airborne into combat with other equally unwieldy vessels.
Oh, and if you like FTL with team-based combat, then this is up your alley.

I think that it might be a good idea to also point out in the Opening Post that while Steam Trading is used mostly for TF2 items, that items from Spiral Knights, Super Monday Night Combat, etc. or extra game copies, coupons, etc. can also be exchanged. Though I'm not aware of any good exchange cross game item rate.
