Cheese Pirate drawings and doodles and such
Hullo, and thank you for looking at my thread! I hope you'll like some of what you see here - I'll be posting drawings and doodles and little animations that I have made. Let me start by introducing one of my characters.
Meet Grok:
SpoilerThis is Grok. Grok is a gobl...orc. Yeah, a goblorc. Grok loves potatoes.

Re: Cheese Pirate drawings and doodles and such
That's... actually pretty good. (Especially the last one. The second one being the weakest link.)

Re: Cheese Pirate drawings and doodles and such
Thank you for the kind response, Domochevsky! The second one is from a fictional journal by a fictional character, which is why it differs in style from the others. I definitely prefer Grok in stick figure form as well.

Re: Cheese Pirate drawings and doodles and such
Thank you, Elemental!
Some people in this thread asked for pirate avatars for the upcoming pirate week, and I decided to give some of the requests a try.
Grimbold wanted his avatar to have a pirate hat and maybe an earring:
Spoiler->
Fredaintdead wanted an avatar version of a specific picture:
Spoiler->
Dusk Eclipse wanted his existing avatar to have a specific pirate flag in the background and also an eyepatch and maybe a tricorn:
Spoiler->
Time will show if they are happy with my attempts.

Re: Cheese Pirate drawings and doodles and such
I've been wracking my brains since I first saw your comic strip as to what it reminded me off and it's just clicked. It reminds me a lot of the graphical style of Machinarium (the 2D adventure game with the little robot). Both are really delightful. ^_^

Re: Cheese Pirate drawings and doodles and such
I would like that, yes please,
really any cheesy scrap would do,
stinky, smelly, runny-yummy cheese,
dry and mouldy - that works too.
And if I had a real piece,
'stead of doodles scattered on the floor,
it would really put my mind at ease,
my tummy wouldn't rumble anymore.

I just wanted to stick my head in here to say that CheesePirate, your art is very charming --your hand drawn style is reminiscent of old childrens' picture books I might have read as a child.

Thank you, Gulaghar!
I finished another pirate avatar:

You can call me Juniper. Please use gender-neutral pronouns (ze/hir (preferred) or they/them) when referring to me.

Re: Cheese Pirate drawings and doodles and such
Thank you both!
It's for free, and can be found here: http://cheesepirate.com/comics/index.html - it started out as an "Everquest II" (an MMORPG by SOE) comic some years ago but hopefully those of you who haven't played that game can still get some entertainment out of most of the strips.
I've been away from my computer for a few days, but I made some pen and paper drawings for my youngest niece, who is almost 5 and likes to colour in the things I draw:

These are absolutely lovely. I especially love the small interactions in the last two drawings. Composition and movement are pretty great, too.

Re: Cheese Pirate drawings and doodles and such
Upon seeing that, my mind started wondering what you'd bait a trap with in order to catch cheese...
I mean... If you could trick it into falling into a hole in the ground, it wouldn't be able to escape!
In other words, that's a really fun picture.Mauve Shirt, Savannah, Gnomish Wanderer, Cuthalion and Smuchmuch get cookies for making me avatars. (::)
