Well, she shows her impressive chompers to Naomi, and apparently has done similar things in the past to get humans to behave as she wants them to. I don't expect it to work on a group of more than 2, but if she needs to get people to leave her alone, she can do it right quick.
It's not quite clear if she realizes the effect her 'smile' has on people.

When she is trying to be friendly to people, she normally keeps her teeth covered while smiling. On the other hand, when she wants people to get a point, she shows her chompers.

I think that comes under Rule of Funny, both in-universe and out, given later developments.

Perhaps. My confusion rests from comics like this. Sarcasm always has been hard to translate to and from text.
Either way, it is more or less seems akin to a running gag by now.

Like I said, confused.
Also, I see they are adding some more complicated colouring.
Frankly, I think black and white or flat shading can be nice, and over doing it can make the visuals hard to read.

I like the colors, but I also like that the colors are almost entirely added as eye-candy. The first half of Freefall's run is pretty amazing stuff in gray-scale.

I know, I'm re-reading it right now. At the moment, we are leading into the first lift off, assuming one doesn't count incidents with parade balloons.
I often find the mark of many a good webcomic is how often I go on archive binges. This will be number four.

Hey, thanks for that link. It was this I was referring to earlier.

Also, I guess that this strip which sparked the discussion in the first place was a callback to this one.

There have already being other victims.
The robot in need of welding for example.
Robo-Jar-Jar was as well, temporarily.
What I meant is that I foresee Edge doing incredibly stupid things that might result in the lobotomization of all the robots. What I expect to happen is that he is the only robot lobotomized.
Then again, Freefall is probably not set in an instant karma universe.

If it was, Mr. Kornada would have had an anvil dropped on his head long ago.
And frankly, I am glad. I've always found Instant Karma too far pat a 'solution' to justice.

Also, Florence would not have ended up in the water with a giant gash on her leg.
Also, in a world of instant karma, a reasonably good person got assigned the next thing to hopeless: fixing Sam's ship.
Which she achieved (at least insofar as it was spaceworthy), and along the way met a good human friend (Naomi), a chaste love interest (Winston), and several robotic friends (Qwerty, Dvorak, and Sawtooth, among others). Of course, the real proof against instant karma is that she is tasked with taking out Gardener in the Dark, a monumental task if there ever was one.

In my posts, smilies generally correspond to my expression at the time. As an example, means "huh?" and "Hmm..". Also, "Landis" is fine.
So Edge is taking the chance to have to deal an angry Blunt, to make sure he's protected from the GITD? I didn't realize Edge was capable of selflessness at all. I thought he'd sooner let Blunt die than suffer even a minor inconvenience.

If Blunt dies before turning over the position, it inconveniences Edge.
Call it, call it semi-enlightened self interest.

It looks like like Flo has given up on her polite and reasonable approach. I hope she can get this guard to join her side before someone comes with a remote. Sadly, since this was the guy who told a colleague to let intruders shoot him to protect EU property, I'm afraid he's another Lawful Stupid character.
I'm not worried about the Police, they are certainly on her side. As I think many in the company are as well. It's the Mayor and people like her I worry about.

The mayor, at least, can make a rational, if anthropocentric, argument in favour of deciding not to act. It's the almost ridiculously egocentric and corrupt Mr. Kornada I worry about.
