Wearing armor is not illegal, but is looked up with some suspicion by officials.
Yes, sorry to have forgotten that.
Can we assume that Ervenor's warhammer is "bound" (hooked to the belt) from my last entering into the city walls? The same for other characters' weapons if they desire.

That has been my assumption, yes. We're just getting started, so I'll cut you guys some slack!
Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
I didn't mention this IC, but Fogors Isle is what passes for a slum in Threshold. The population is predominantly Traladaran, with a sizable demi-human population mixed in, though the demi-humans tend to self-segregate in smaller ghettos on the Isle. The Owlbears Head is situated at essentially a crossroads on the Isle. Most of you will have heard of it as both a rough and tumble, shady bar but also fairly cosmopolitan (at least racially).

Hey guys, let me know if I'm posting to quickly for y'all. I'm self-employed and get the instant email updates, so it's real easy for me to fire off responses.
Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
Just checking in to say I'm still here; Orliander is listening to the goings on attentively, but doesn't have much to say. Picture him staring off into the middle distance, his hair blowing in a nonexistent breeze. Perhaps add a boys' choir and slow motion to taste.

You should post something like that to the IC, well except maybe the bit about the boys choir. The IC isn't just for dialogue.

Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
I have uploaded a map of the Threshold region to the "Maps" section of the wiki. The caves you have been pointed to should be in hex 19.08. Note that all the hexes not marked in are relatively unknown, at least to you. A better map can be purchased, or hexes filled in as they are explored.

Here is my suggestion, or better: two options
1.
Gedeon (Fighter)
Haldar (Dwarf)
Ervenor (Cleric)
Orliander (Elf)
Ganelon (Magic-User)
Lanmolltar (Elf)
2.
Gedeon (Fighter)
Haldar (Dwarf)
Ervenor (Cleric)
Ganelon (Magic-User)
Lanmolltar (Elf)
Orliander (Elf)
The second (2.) is for the times in which we fear an attack from behind.
Any other opinion is welcome.
Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
There has been a proposal tabled, one that works with what has been mentioned IC. Unless anyone objects, I will be posting this on the wiki as canon. (I like this, by the way. It is a good example of a clear, decisive post that directly addresses an issue.) I'm still waiting to hear from three more PCs IC before I roll out the day's travel -- I just want to make sure everyone is still around.
Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
I've started to add some campaign fluff to the wiki in the, appropriately named, "Campaign Fluff" section. The first piece is an article written by Giampaolo Agosta over at Pandius.com on the Church of Traladara. I will be updating this section as time permits and the adventures require.

That makes sense to me, so no complaints here.
On the spoiler in the latest post: Looking at the sheets, both Haldar and Ganelon have lanterns, and also Gedeon has a few torches, so light-wise we should be good.

He is welcome, encouraged even, to join back in, once he is back. Like I said, my primary concern is keeping the game flowing.
Sorry, I didn't want to seem try to slow down the game. Actually, I find it too slow!
But this is my first experience with play-by-post, so I asked because I don't know how it is "right". Also I guess that each person has his or her sensibility on the matter.
If we all keep the game flowing I will surely be happy
Let me add OOC something on the choice of entrance.
On one hand one can deduce that a door left ajar is a clue of someone passing through it recently; on the other hand if Aleena and Ilya entered a inhabited cave and they were overwhelmed, is easy to think that the cave occupants closed the door after their passage...
If we can open the door without much noise I vote for the closed door.
Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
It's a little slower than I would like, at least for the beginning of a game, when you are most likely to lose peoples' interest. Oh well. In some ways, running a pbp is like herding cats, except the cats are in different time zones.
Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
If it helps, from what you can tell the ground outside of the two doughty open doors is more disturbed than the ground in front if the closed door, which shows little sign of being used. Certainly Orliander can detect no sign that two heavily armored individuals entered by the closed door recently.
Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
Usually it is a real fight getting someone to map, not a fight between two people wanting to map. How about you guys take turns between adventures? Everyone who wants to gets a shot.
Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
Hi guys. Apologies for my absence. Real life does indeed sometimes get in the way. It looks like I may have missed some good stuff, so I'll work on catching up and posting in the IC as soon as I have done so!
Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
So, just a quick note about the "Lost in the Dark Rule". If I don't hear from a player for a while I will, rather than stop play and wait for someone who may or may not return, continue on, essentially ignoring said player's character (as opposed to puppeting him/her). This is not a judgement on any of ya'll, merely a statement of fact that sometimes, players stop posting with no warning. It happens.
When this does occur the player is welcome back whenever they are able. However, such re-appearance must occur at an opportune time, typically when back in town. In other words, if I haven't heard from someone in days, back when the party was resting in town, the group is now exploring a dungeon, it doen't make any sense for the returning characte to waltz back in. I'm willing to let it slide now, since ya'll aren't used to it, but I'm hoping this is a better explanation for how I run things.

Thanks for your leniency in this case. The rule is reasonable and I appreciate the need to keep things moving. The current plan sounds fine.
Re: [Dark Dungeons -- BECMI Retroclone]In Search of Adventure OOC
Hey, thirdkingdom, I think you've got a typo in the latest IC post; we went down the eastern passage, right? The western one was the 'warning danger' one, while the eastern one was 'rat extravaganzmatazz.'
I'll have something resembling intended actions for the round later this evening, or tomorrow morning at the latest.
