No, enemies in the center act before allies in the center.

The breakdown is as follows:

Archer #6 shoots Falcon [H7] from [H9] and hits for 8 damage

Ally Center
Mercenary #1 pushes Falcon [H7] onto the wall [H8]
Edit: Falcon will need a Push to get off of the wall, though he 'can' attack Archer #6, being next to them and all.

Oh, derp.

That's what happens when you see an update, first thing in the morning after rolling out of bed.

Sorry for the trouble.

Now, lemme see what Grassy came up with...

EDIT: Will a Rescue work?

We should hope. We can't exactly shove him off, and suggesting that a wall is like a water/desert tile, he'll not clear the archer/ballista range by moving off.

We can have Callum pick him up and canto to F6 or K7... I'd rather keep Oren close

Argoth to C-E12, attack Soldier 6

Paris to C-E11, attack Soldier 6, canto to E9 (1 space outside Ballista 6 range)

Falcon attacks Archer 6

Callum to C-H7, rescues Falcon, canto to C-F6

Oren to C-F5, takes Falcon, drop at C-E5

Lloyd to C-E7, 'trades' Vulnerary off of Aramel, trades Vulnerary to Adele*

Roland attack Archer 18, canto to C-C6

Durnock to C-D7**

Adele to C-E11

Wotan to C-M13, attack Soldier 1

Imeena to C-L12, attack Soldier 1, canto to C-L13

*(or Durnock to C-D6, trade Vulnerary to Adele)

**(or Durnock to C-B6, shove Roland)

Sure, a rescue will work.

Why don't you have Falcon attack? You might as well, since he's there and about to get rescued anyways.

Awesome, at least Falcon isn't a sitting duck. Grassy's plan seems good on first glance too, I'll take a closer look at it later.

It also fits with the fluff I have in mind for Falcon; the guy is fated to pay for his moments of coolness with equal moments of lame and fail. It's Equivalent Exchange!

EDIT: Right, Falcon post is up. Nohbdy, ZeltArruin, Steilos, you're all up.

Download Tiled Map Editor:
http://www.mapeditor.org/

Download this tileset collection:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1262287/FE/...Collection.zip

Then, create a new tileset in Tiled using one of the images in the zip provided, set the tile height and width to 16px, the other values to 0px. Transparent colour doesn't matter. Once you do that, you create a map with tiles, rather than pixels as the basic unit of measure. You also get access to tools like the fill tool, layers, etc.

To update a map is more tricky. You can technically use Tiled to place units on the map, this would let you update really quickly. However, you would have to first create a tileset image that contains all the overworld sprites. The other method is to use an image editor that supports layers and put your map on one layer and your units on another layer so they don't affect each other.

EDIT: What do you know, there are programs to compile spritesheets for you out of individual sprites, and I happen to have blue and red individual overworld sprites. Use this as a tileset with Tiled:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1262287/FE/...rldsprites.png

Set the tile width to 16px and tile height to 24 px, use white (the default) as the transparent colour.
Ok I've played around with is... it appears to be easy and fun... I haven't practised placing units on a map though... You may be hearing from me regarding a game sooner than expected, but as I am noobie to this please be patient with me.

I just add it in Photoshop with the pencil tool :"D

//unhelpful

When you export as image, just click on the 'show gridlines' option thingy.

Edit: I have no clue how to put the ABCDEFG 123456789 stuff on it.

I'd suggest fiddling with it for a while before you start up a game. Get like 3 or 4 maps pre-made, and work up a plot like you would if you were DMing an RPG.
Then, when you've figured out a good deal of pitfalls and gotten a system together, save a file with all the calculations for easy access (You could use Excell) and bam! You're good to go.

That's what I need to know how to do... I guess there's microsoft publisher, but that will take forever...

Thanks. I certainly won't be starting this now considering that I am in the middle of my field season... Probably towards the end of the year. The campaign has been in my head since the start of the year though and has been hammering hard against my skull to come out.

Indeed. Roland can shoot *Then* move. No reason not to, especially in a map where enemy reinforcements are constant and endless.

@Rising Phoenix
If you want, I can add them in on PS for you. It's easy once it's been done once, since I can just keep it on another layer and copy-paste it on every update.

@Acanous
Personally, I do maps as they come up. I don't see the point in churning out a huge chunk of them when it usually takes a month or more for the group to finish even one*.

*say 8-9 turns to finish a smaller map; with my 3x/week update schedule that's about 3 weeks. If you do 2x/week, that's a month, and it usually takes longer than 9 turns to complete a map. There's no real need to force yourself to rush them out.

Maybe one of them has a twin somewhere who got disowned? Or maybe...

They both do, and those twins found each other and fell in love like some bizarre alternate universe version of our mom and dad, and half of the kids look exactly like us?

Agreed and thanks, but his right in that I need to practice, at least to familiarize myself with how layers work properly...

Transparency tool so there's no odd white background around the map sprites.

Mortimer turns serious and skeptical "An unlikely theory... which makes it even more... plausible! Even if her skin tone is different from ours." his excitement peaks "Quick to the genealogy and family history records! Can you imagine the look on dear Ma and Pa's face at the reunion?! And we could have so many cousins?! Imagine! More people with an intellectual level similar to our own!... Great thinking there sis! "

Edit: At penguinator: Aye, figured that out later, but couldn't be bothered making another image.

Added Roland attacking Archer 18. I'd advocate a quick update. If that wasn't such a frightening prospect, and assuming everyone's got their opportunity to review/RP.

Pretty sure all the RP between shots was already done for Roland (With Nina). So I'm good whenever.

So it seems that Roland is clocking in at 11% above average every level.

But there's one other person running random level ups that's gained 5, so let's see how our resident Lord fares under the RNG.
StatBaseCurrentChangeGrowthRealVariance
HP2428470%80%+10%
Str810250%40%-10%
Skl58340%60%+20%
Spd810250%40%-10%
Lck33020%0%-20%
Def59440%80%+40%
Res12115%20%+5%
So Imeena is rocking a +35% bonus from her projected total. The RNG likes her a little less than Roland, as she's getting an average of +7% per level. However, she's got that Lord bonus, which actually adds 35% to her projected, so she's 70% over a non-Lord character at this level.

Ok folks, I am continuing to play around with Tiled... any idea where I can get more map sprites for it? I've tried fire emblem planet etc but when I import them- even if it's 16 by 24 they end up all chopped up...

e.g. How would you 'resize' these so that they fit in 16 x 16 tiles?

I'd go with the resize option in PS, but that's useless for you.

Before that though, try the sheets from:

I did get these... they don't fit exactly in 16x24 either though... >_<

Edit: I should also thank everyone for helping me. Tiled is very, very easy to use... now if only I can find sprites.

edit: what are the dimensions that you need, exactly? I put Tiled as 18x18 (and it seems to work well).

I tried that too thanks... the upper ones seem to fit in 18x18 but the lower ones get cut in two or more pieces.

I am not an expert, but so far 16x16 and 16x24 seem to work well. I will repeat that atm I am not really sure what I am doing so perhaps Water and Wind will be able to provide better comments on what is best for me?

For now though I can at least work with the things Water and Wind provided...

There's also the issue of numbering stuff. I don't think tiled allows you to place and x and y axis or number individual tiles... I also do not own Photoshop (have lightroom through...)

Thanks again.

Edit: There's some clipping on the sides, but that's what happens when you go for 16 width instead of the default 18.

Edit: Tested on 'Tiled' using 16 x 24 parameters: it works; doesn't seem to be any problems.
