Incidentally, I think I was not only misreading whatever plan was posted, but reading an old one too. Jeeez, I shouldn't write responses while my friends are sorting out their loot in Torchlight 2.
Edit: For the record, HHM Battle Before Dawn is really easy. The only "oh crap" moment was a 20% Bolting versus a 4HP Erk (Sage) coming out of some random FoW'd area (which is what I get for not remembering who the boss is or where they live...); killed every enemy on the map by the end of Turn 12.
HHM Iron Man Run - man up and never save.
Edit: And now I'm going to wipe on 28X aren't I. Hmm...
Edit: I'll update my thoughts on HHM Cog of Destiny when I get there (hopefully not with a depleted party).

I think this is the example of are different ideas of difficulty. For instance, HHM scares me so much I've never played it.
Paris to C-E11, attacks Soldier #7, cantos back to C-E7. If Soldier #7 is already dead, Paris attacks Soldier #8
[Durnock to C-E8, push Adele]
Adele to C-H12, attacks Swordsman 14
Roland to C-E11, attacks Soldier #7. If Soldier #7 is already dead, Roland to C-E11, attacks Soldier #8.
Wotan to C-J12, takes a Vulnerary.
Imeena to C-G12 (?? rescue Linia, canto to C-G13)
~~ looooool tldr ~~
(on review, Callum cannot wall for Linia at E12, not the end of the world though if she's vulnerable on one side)
Callum to C-E10, rescue Roland
Oren to C-E9, take Roland
(someone else can 'take' him off Oren before he attacks)
Falcon to C-E6, takes a Vulnerary.
Lloyd to C-F7.
How does this look?
We leave Aramel out in the cold... to die likely. But f**k that KS'er.
We can make the most of his reaming heroic sacrifice by creatively distributing damage to the soldiers surrounding him, counting on him to do 13~ damage to at least two of them...
If we're feeling uncharacteristically altruistic, we may just Rescue Aramel & Linia this turn, reposition and drop them and crush what's left of the resistance over the next three rounds. Oren can provide a wall at E9 against the surviving Soldiers, and Argoth & Adele can join forces with Wotan/Imeena this round.
Edit: This is the gist of the plan I'll be mulling over. I may tweak it so that Argoth rescues Linia or something...

@GrassyGnoll
I kind of want to Bad End you guys if you let Aramel die, because he technically 'was' the party's Lord character... but no, that's not going to happen. I can't write his character anyways, so less work for me!
@Illven
It's not as bad as you think it is. Try it out.

Well I finished a run of Fe 7 just a couple of weeks ago, so....
But you can check it out if you want. Link is in my sig.
Tweaking battle-plans to rescue Linia, because she is in the deep and it's more move-economical than walling her on three sides. Linia is Adele's "Good End"
Also, Adele only has a 89% chance of finishing Swordsman 14, so I should also find contingencies or cool my heels.

Against my better judgment I may also work saving Aramel into my next draft. Hopefully it makes Argoth a more tempting target...
This round is hard
Edit: Predicting a rescue round. Holding Aramel hardly has a significant impact on Argoth's tanking ability (assuming Con 13 can save Con 13). Otherwise Paris can just sit on him (or veto his life, as Penguinator's the only other character that can rescue). If we can't kill Swordsman 14 this round... Adele is still an excellent shover.
Once we hit the CT we can stop babysitting the AI. Yeah, they suck in a lot of ways. But they're a break on our nuking ability since Nina's death.

Should I have not depressed Linia's stats for this map (hand waved as her being 'rusty')? I was worried that if I put her in with normal stats that it'd trivialize the map's difficulty.
Eh... well, at any rate, I've got plenty of other surprises left.
----------
Oh also, I've started the very first FE: Random Fights draft. Illven and Ascaloth have already gotten some picks.
----------
Edit: Yes, as long as Aid > their CON, you can pick them up, horse and all.
I may switch up Adele to D11, as Soldier's 6/8 can move, let Cavalier 11 attack and canto, and open Adele up to a sum total of 4 attacks that round (she can weather three).
Possibly re-changing rescue-train to move Roland from E11.
[following changes]
Roland to E11, attack Soldier 7
Callum to E10, rescue Roland (20 - 12 = 8 == Roland's Con)
Adele to E11
or
Durnock to B6, shove Roland
Roland to E11, attack Soldier 7, canto to E10
(Callum waits)
or
Roland to E11, attack Soldier 7
Durnock to E10, rescue Roland
Adele to E11
Oren, take and deposit Roland
Callum to F7
Edit: We leave Argoth holding Linia for the round and Callum waiting, but whatever, we can drop her next round and inch closer to the tent. By the looks of the reinforcements in the north, we're going to have to send someone to rescue Hugo (natural candidate: Callum).
Draft III, Working Plan for Top (Shove + Capture) [We can't really kill anyone this round, so let's cover our AI and capture the village tile at D12.]
Quote:
Adele to E12, shove Soldier 8
Argoth to D12
Lloyd to E7, shove Paris
Falcon to E8, shove Paris
Paris to G12, attack Soldier 2, canto to E11
Callum to E10, rescue Paris, canto to E9
Durnock to G5, shove Oren
Oren to E10, rescue Paris
Roland to E11, attack Soldier 7
(possibly shove-chain Roland to E7, finish off Soldier 2)
End goal: kill Soldier 2/Swordsman 14, Imeena canto to G12,
The only thing I don't like about the retooled plan is the miss%. I may revise it so Roland kills Soldier 2/Swordsman 14 so we can be sure Imeena will arrive at G12 to form the phalanx.
Due to Fire Emblem's as I like to call it 'horse space' rule, Imeena can rescue Roland in the thick of it.

If you want E-11 clear so bad, why not just have Roland to H-7, peg Archer 6, Canto to H-6?
Then the archer is dead, Roland's out of Ballista range, and you don't need to waste two other characters on picking up and dropping or shoving Roland. They can attack people and get XP instead.

Good idea. I'm going to try and synthesize the save Linia/capture D12 plan (Edit: nope.jpg )
With just 30 more XP, Adele becomes a significantly more formidable tank... but until then, and with the L Cavalier in play, she can only wall a 1-adjacent tile.
Draft 2 x 2 (spiritual successor to Draft II, move tiles maximized)
Quote:
Argoth to E12, rescue Linia
Paris to E11, rescue Aramel, canto to C-E7
Adele to E11, take Linia
Callum to E10, take and deposit Linia at E9, canto to E8
Roland to H7, attacks Archer #6, canto to G7
Imeena to L13, rescue S Cavalier 5, canto to K13
Wotan to J13, take S Cavalier 5, deposit at J12
Durnock to G5, push Oren
Oren to E10
Falcon to E6, takes a Vulnerary
Lloyd to F7

Nay, not just yet :). But you, Sairyu, Penguinator, Illven and WnW have spots in the original party if you so desire (and of course a chance on the lord position). Just my way of saying thanks for the help/sprites/games these last 2 years.
Edit: and of course a way to minimize drop outs early on in the game...

Posting IC. The direction assumes we take Draft 2 x 2 as a course of action, or that Oren & Adele end up adjacent and finally building support
Pros of 2 x 2:
-Recycles Linia, puts a lid on Aramel
-Oren/Adele/Argoth bulkhead
-Likely breakthrough on Wotan/Imeena front
-Sets up shove-charge into D12
Con of 2 x 2
-Wotan move too aggressive? Revert plan to 'move Wotan to J12, take Vulnerary; Imeena to J13
-Pool of sword fighters in courtyard are beginning to threaten Wotan (good distraction, but we should think about how to cover him)
