Seems to me they should have 8 MOV, 9 Base Con each.

You get +2(male)/+3(female) CON for going archer->ranger.

I thought we were using custom promotion bonuses (Aje8's system)?

Actually I'm wondering where Sairyu got some of those names for his Relics and S weapons. The Quae Icchuka in particular, a quick Google turns up nothing...

Speaking of swords. Does Ion Eccidio wield a personal specialty sword of some sort?
The Vague Katti (FE9) would like a word with you.

Edit: Incidentally, there were no mercenaries/heroes in that game, unless you count Ike.

Still a Katti. And it wouldn't make sense to make a sword that's suited for a non-existent class in FE9, now would it?

@Water_and_Wind
I figured that you guys would want the extra stats. It's a difference of ~7 points between a custom promotion and a normal promotion. I'm still doing the custom promotion stuff though; you guys'll just be seeing higher promotion bonuses all around.

@Ascaloth
I made them up. Google fu will not save you.

@Acanous
Well you are getting a horse at that point, so your movement should change to reflect that.

He has the double-horse. It's like a horse, but you can canto twice - before you act and after you act!

But uh no, I forgot about that for a moment. I'll need to figure out the promotion gains from mounted archer. It'll probably be similiar-statwise to the archer promo, except with only +1MOV (to make it 8).

@Kasanip,

Hmmm. I may have to tone down Falcon's poor enunciation.

It basically goes like this;

"No, no, what are you being sorry for? You're not the one who made this whole mess!"

"Though you're right, we better save the chatting for later after we're done. But before that, I think you'll feel a lot of pain in your shoulder about now."

"There's a ballista bolt still stuck in your shoulder; I couldn't pull it out just now, or you'll bleed to death. Now that you're awake though, I'll need to pull it out now. You can do your magical healing to stop the bleeding after I pull it out, right?"

Well. This is embarrassing.

It's the double-horse, it's two horses in one mount, you can't get anything better than this.

I would suggest the nomad bonuses.

That's a good suggestion and I'm going to steal it and use it.

The Nomad caps don't look bad either.

Promo to Ranger:
+3HP, +2STR, +1SKL, +1SPD, +3DEF, +3RES, +1CON, +1MOV
gain use of 1 additional weapon type (sword, axe, lance)

So, for the Bishop, was it ever decided what was going to be done about it if there weren't going to be many monsters? I'd probably look into making Fiona ignore Anima magic entirely and have only Light Magic/Staves after promotion, but I don't know whether the Bishop would be improved or not.

There will be many monsters.

Edit: Sorry, to clarify, there will be monsters appearing later on. They wont be necessarily in every map, but I think that they'll have enough presence in the storyline to make the Bishop's 'slayer' skill useful.

A horse within a horse within a horse.....what's next, a ballista that fires archers?

Ooh, that brings to mind the possibly of a siege weapons triangle.

Compiled our Best Case Scenario plan. I'll make some contingency edits, but these are my tweaks so far to break the courtyard line ASAP.

I think Oren should attack first, as his double attack on Soldier 8 is the spearhead of our advance (most of the round is then picking off Mercs and swordsman that pose a threat to Oren).

I'm going to rewrite a plan having Oren attack last, to cover any possible contingency of this Soldier died, but that Merc or that Swordsman didn't, etc.

BCS
Quote:
Oren to C-D13, attacks Soldier #8. (As mentioned earlier, I want Oren as far North as possible.)[Grassy: I would also consider having Oren attack from D11; then Argoth at E12 would block Mercenaries 17 & 18...*]

Argoth to C-E13, attacks Mercenary #19 (88% OHKO)

Paris to C-E11, attacks Mercenary #18 (79% OHKO), cantos back to C-E9.

Adele to C-E11, attacks Swordsman #14 (87% OHKO)

Roland to C-B11 (pick off Swordsman #14 or damage a Merc/Soldier if someone misses)

Falcon to C-E7.

Lloyd to C-D11. If Swordsman #14 is not dead yet, Lloyd waits. If Paris attacks & hits Merc 18 AND if Swordsman 14 dead AND if

Callum to C-F7, takes a Vulnerary.

Imeena to C-J10, and uses a Vulnerary

Wotan shoves Lance Cavalier 6 (Wotan is facing down the only untouchable Merc this round sadly)

Durnock trades Iron Sword to Falcon
Tweaks are to focus fire on the Mercenaries which are a greater threat to the exposed Oren (who can ORKO the Soldier whether or not Roland & Paris hit; but will be out in the cold if there are too many swordfighters left standing at the end of the turn).

*Like, with 4 sword-fighters, deploying Oren is a headache. My cornerstone is going to be Adele/Argoth's movements and the canto'ing artillery. We may consider picking up Linia and depositing her in range of the Lance Cavalier harassing Hugo next round to clean him up sooner.

Edited to reflect comments below.

How about Imeena to C-J10, use a vulnerary, and then on the next turn buy a sword and canto back up? It might mean eating another ballista bolt but a new sword is necessary at this point. Plus I think that counts as a town tile, so it provides healing.

Just noticed this. Paris has the most misses, with a Shaman, then it's an Axe user tied with...Roland, who has the highest skill in the group.

RNG is a fickle thing.

Wherever Oren attacks Soldier 8, he will be vulnerable to counter-attack by Mercenary 17, a ballistae and any surviving swordsmen (+the likely hit from Soldier 8). Which is why everyone listed above except Oren might attack this round. Roland to C11 & Oren to B11 may be the best maneuver towards Hugo.

I think we should delay Oren's move until Argoth, Paris and Adele have made theirs, and see the results.

Should we manage to take out Swordsman #14, there may be a better way to deploy Oren.
