Imeena can ORKO any archer (21 HP). She double attacks them for 11. Everything looks in order. Due to position and order of movement, Imeena has to off Archer 2 before Adele can recruit.

Edit: Oren is also able to ORKO archers, albeit with a lower hit%

Caution: Roland is in range of the Southern map ballistae (move him to C-I4 to make the Vulnerary last a little longer)

I don't think Wotan & Oren are in a position to advance. Oren will be vulnerable to seven attackers (3 balistae, 2 archer, 1 L Cavalier & 1 S Cavalier; 5/7 will do 7 damage to him)*.

*Not including attackers diverted by Swordsman 2

I think we should drop them back a square and bait the L Cavalier to charge. With the breach in the northern courtyard, some of their reinforcements will be siphoned away.

I'm still watching the South map's move-tiles in the event that Domni acts on his own initiative.

I would propose Wotan to C-M8, equip Iron Axe and move Oren to C-M9. If Oren picks up 1 SPD on his next level he'll be able to double attack L Cavaliers.

Fair enough. If Sairyu rules that C-F9 and C-G9 are passable (I can't remember whether that's so for certain), we will go with your suggestions.

I'm actually considering withdrawing Falcon, Oren and Wotan soon if they can't make any further progress through the south passage. I don't think Domni has the patience to wait much longer for the signal, and will open that south gate any time now. To avoid an ambush splitting the party composition, the south group needs to either push through hard and rejoin the main group at Lenz's tent, or otherwise withdraw and regroup near the church.

If we're going with the withdraw and regroup option, here are my suggested changes to the plan;

Wotan to C-N9, takes a Vulnerary.

Oren to C-M9, Trades for Wotan's Hand Axe and equips it. I want the enemy Archers to test their luck with Oren; he needs the EXP.

Falcon scoots to C-K6, takes a Vulnerary.

Callum to C-L6, attacks Mercenary #4, moves to C-M8.

Roland to C-L7, takes a Vulnerary.

By doing it this way, we get Falcon out of Dodge at the earliest opportunity, and position Roland and Callum to Rescue both Oren and Wotan and follow suit soon after if it becomes necessary.

I concur with Ascaloth's plan, although Oren to M8 instead of M9 (no longer in the range of Archer 3 or S Cavalier 6, mostly afraid of S Cavalier 6).

Edit: And Wotan to N8/M7* to make the trade.

(M7 if you're cautious about the South Gate opening; N8 if we want to block L Cavalier 8)

Wotan to N-8 will put him in range of Domni, right? Wouldn't that trigger the ambush like you said?

D'oh. We can forgo the Hand Axe, as it will only grant an extra counter attack against Archer 4 at a 15% hit penalty to counter attacks against cavaliers.

Oh for ****'s sake.

Wotan to C-M9, takes Vulnerary.

Oren to C-N9.

No trade.

Oren doesn't get EXP that way, but Wotan can tank better.

That should do, right?

We can assume that Ballistae 6 & S Cavalier 6 will focus Swordsman 2 with no PCs in range...

Enemy cavaliers are particularly dangerous because presumably they can attack and canto away to empty the space they just attacked from. It is conceivable that with dedicated focus, the Redlines could hit M9 with 2 Lance Cavaliers, 2 Archers, 2 Ballistaes (7 & 8) and 1 Sword Cavalier for...

7x2 + 5x2 + 7x2 + 7x1 ~ 45 damage

@M8: 2LC, 1A, 2B for 7x2 + 5 + 2x7 ~ 33 damage (survive on 1 miss)

It may be that the only perfectly safe spot is M7

Which, incidentally, is one of the danger tiles for triggering the ambush.

Okay, screw this crap. The south group withdraws and regroups, now.

Wotan trade the Hand Axe to Oren, moves to C-L7.

Oren to C-N5, tries a shot at Mercenary #4. Hit chances are low, but it's worth a shot.

Callum to C-L6, attacks Mercenary #4, cantos to C-J5.

Falcon to C-J6.

If Mercenary #4 is still not dead by this time, Roland Rescues Oren and scoots to C-G6.

How does this look?

Roland can Fire the Ballista and canto, yes? So we can forgo that hand axe problem by having him *Kill* archer 4, canto to CG4.
Our lovely cleric can heal him next turn or the one therafter for some XP, saving the Vulnerary. Roland is in no danger from the Mercenary, as we've got a big heavy tank on CK5.

Aside from that, Ascaloth's plan looks fine to me.

Anyone see a problem with this?

Edit: and then there was an edit while I was posting. Lol.

Right, so

It's not the mercenary threatening Roland, it's Ballistae 8.

Edit: Although looking through Turn history, they haven't fired the thing once... still, it would be a very bad turn for them to start.

Yes, they won't start firing until the ambush is triggered.

Trigger conditions are if we end turn on an ambush tile, Baldo remembers the signal (Dealt with), or after X number of turns have passed.(?) *Probably* also if Roland starts firing on people in the south sector.

But either way, I'm moving on out of there 'til I get my HP back in the double digits, the survival of Merc 14 is only determining if I'm rescuing someone, or killing someone.

Ah, the fickle coin of fate.

Got it. I'll use your change instead of whatever's in the finalized plan.

@Ascaloth
CF9 and CG9 are considered to be part of the shop and are unpassable to ground-slogging units.

In that case, the same applies to C-I9 and C-J9, which means that Archer #6 is effectively out of the equation.

I'll come back with a revised plan soon.

EDIT: Updated plan;

Madeline to C-E6, heals Imeena.

Imeena recruits Adele, moves to C-E10 and attacks Archer #2. If the latter dies, Imeena cantos to C-D12 and Visits; if not, she cantos to C-E9.

Paris to C-E7 and recruits Adele, she's been playing taxi long enough, time to bring her back to the fray.

Adele to C-C11.

Wotan to C-N11, attacks Lance Cavalier #8 with Hand Axe.

Oren to C-N12, attacks Lance Cavalier #8.

Callum to C-L6, attacks Mercenary #4, cantos to C-M10.

Wotan trade the Hand Axe to Oren, moves to C-L7.

Oren to C-N5, tries a shot at Mercenary #14. Hit chances are low, but it's worth a shot.

Callum to C-L6, attacks Mercenary #14, cantos to C-J5.

Argoth to C-L6, attacks Mercenary #14.

This should weaken Mercenary #14 enough to let Durnock have the kill. Durnock to C-K5, attacks Mercenary #14.

If Mercenary #14 is still not dead by this time, Roland Rescues Oren and scoots to C-G6. If Mercenary #14 IS dead, Roland kills archer 4 and scoots to C-G6.

Falcon to C-J6, takes his last Vulnerary.

Roland stops shooting for a while to take a Vulnerary.

Falcon to C-N10, takes his last Vulnerary.

Lloyd shouts at Galer's Sword Cavalier #4 to "give me a ride dammit". If that still doesn't work, he goes to W-E16.

This is the plan with the "south group withdraw and regroup" objective, instead of the "south group push through" objective.

How does this look so far?

Oh, right. These are essentially empty 'fluff' houses.

So no point visiting them unless we want fluff. The dodge bonus is useful though, since Imeena will be drawing aggro.

Indeed. Falcon actually manages to look even cheekier than ever, and Imeena looks like quite the lady.

Thanks W&W, I'll put the hatless Falcon avatar in as part of his entry. Now, I've got what could be potentially a long and tedious request for you, if you want to take it up, of course.

Who in the party wants to try wearing Falcon's hat?

Okay, had another look at the plan, and decided to change some things around to reflect the latest information. Here's the updated list;

Madeline to C-E6, heals Imeena.

Imeena moves to C-E10 and attacks Archer #2. If the latter dies, Imeena cantos to C-D12; if not, she cantos to C-E9.

Paris to C-E7 and recruits Adele, she's been playing taxi long enough, time to bring her back to the fray.

Adele to C-C11.

Wotan trades the Hand Axe to Oren, moves to C-L7.

Oren to C-N5, tries a shot at Mercenary #14. Hit chances are low, but it's worth a shot.

Callum to C-L6, attacks Mercenary #14, cantos to C-J5. Pause update if Mercenary #14 dies. If Mercenary #14 is already dead, Callum goes to C-L6, Rescues Wotan, and cantos to C-G7.

Argoth to C-L6, attacks Mercenary #14. If Mercenary #14 is already dead,
Argoth to C-E6.

This should weaken Mercenary #14 enough to let Durnock have the kill. Durnock to C-K5, attacks Mercenary #14. If Mercenary #14 is already dead, Durnock to C-G5.

If Mercenary #14 is still not dead by this time, Roland Rescues Oren and scoots to C-G6. If Mercenary #14 IS dead, Roland shoots at Archer #4 and scoots to C-G6.

Falcon to C-I7, takes his last Vulnerary.

Lloyd shouts at Galer's Sword Cavalier #4 to "give me a ride dammit". If that still doesn't work, he goes to W-E16.

How does this look?

EDIT:
