Kubravarain Family fluff

The Kubravarain family is one of the most influential parties in Barlad, the capital of Berca. They used to be a small plains tribe called the Kubravar, but rose to power in the vacuum left after the war against the Dark and are now firmly established in the city. As a post-war noble house, they do not have strong ties with the Nalban faith. They wield considerable political power with several members of parliament coming from this family, and have furnished many horses and materials for the military in order to gain their favour. Unlike the great tribes of old, however, the Kubravarain clan's real power lies not in their military might, but in their courier network "The Gentle Gendarmes" which provides transport and communications services throughout Berca. As a major distributor of food and supplies from the capital to the outlying plains, the Gentle Gendarmes enjoy good public relations with the common folk.

The current head of the family is Marve Kubravarain, a man known to be preoccupied with his work. That didn't stop him from having seven children with his wife Klavia; the eldest two sons Raja and Mengal are competing to be the heir to the family business. The third daughter, Imeena, showed promise as a soldier, while the fourth daughter, Farah owns her own personal library. The remaining three children are still in schooling. Marve's own siblings manage the day to day aspects of the Gentle Gendarmes, along with innumerable servants and maidservants.

Water_and_wind I have a question you mentioned that girls have confessed to her before.

In the In character thread, Imeena makes a mention of Nina being like the girls at the academy. Was that a IC moment of Imeena questioning Nina's sexuality?

Oh boy. The ambush has been tripped, the central sector is choked up all of a sudden, half the party's hurting, and Aramel is apparently suffering from AI ally syndrome.

Time for a tactical withdrawal; we're going to need to regroup and concentrate our forces.

Oren to C-J5, shouts at Lenz and Linia that trouble's brewing down south and they should retreat for the moment, takes a Vulnerary.

Wotan to C-G7, shouts the same thing at Lenz and Linia, takes a Vulnerary.

Argoth to C-H6, shouts the same thing at Lenz and Linia, takes a Vulnerary.

We need Argoth pushing towards Lenz's tent from the north ASAP. Paris to C-H7, Rescues Argoth, cantos to C-D7.

Roland to C-E7, takes Argoth from Paris and drops Argoth at C-E8, cantos to C-D5.

Madeline to C-E5, heals Roland.

Durnock to C-G6.

Falcon to C-F5.

The holy lady knight Callum Rescues Oren, cantos to C-D6.

Yeah, time to pull Adele out of there, she's not going to survive this. Adele to C-E7, and takes a Vulnerary.

Imeena to C-D11, Rescues Aramel, and cantos to C-E6.

Lloyd to C-E2.

Does everything look fine so far?

But I just realized. Nina's going to be so behind on xp after this map.

Well, I did ask Sairyu whether we could bring Nina back if we had Madeline Visit a tent, and he okayed it. I figured that ruling was still in effect.

Anyway, we can rebuild her. We have the technology.

Imeena can't rescue Aramel (Aid 12/Con 13). Paris will have to bail his assets.

Oh, FFS. What kind of priest needs that much CON?

Right, this changes a lot of things. Without Paris, we can't get Argoth in place soon enough to do his tanking duties, so it falls to our next best physical tank. At the moment, that's Imeena.

Adjusted plan;

Paris to C-E10, pulls Aramel onto her horse by his ear for being such a frakkin' holy idiot, and cantos to C-D7.

Roland to C-E7, takes Argoth from Paris and drops Argoth at C-E8, cantos to C-D5.

Roland to C-D6, takes Aramel from Paris and drops Aramel at C-C6, cantos to C-D5.

Madeline to C-E5, heals Roland.

Durnock to C-G6.

Falcon to C-F5, shouts the same thing at Lenz and Linia.

Imeena attacks Archer #3, cantos to C-E8

Lloyd to C-E2.

How does this look? I think Imeena can take a few more hits.

That she can, but another reason to have Adele tank instead would be the 'elasticity' of both S Cavalier's cantos. At C-E8, the Redlines can attack with both S Cavaliers & an Archer; while at C-E7 they have to choose between 2 S Cavalier or 1 S Cavalier & 1 Archer attack.

I prefer moving Imeena closer to the South gate (C-F7) where she can clip one of the Fighters for 24 HP.

Instead of having Callum rescue Oren, let him move to C-I5 on his own. Pick-up Linia instead, move to C-G6.

Wotan to C-H6, Take Linia, and deposit her at C-H5

Durnock to C-H7

Adele can't take hits as well as Imeena (though pretty much better than anyone else save Imeena and Argoth), and she's already hurt. A Vulnerary will fix that, and she probably won't die from two attacks, but just saying. Not a bad idea though.

Fighter? Which Fighter? But if you say Imeena going there will put her in a more flexible position to react, I guess why not.

The rest seems okay, I don't mind going with this one unless there are any issues I overlooked.

EDIT: bump to make the post show up.

Compiling...

I think we can also not retreat so desperately, if we keep Argoth a little closer and in range to Aid Captain Lenz (who Domni is in position to blow up). [Captain Lenz is pretty much lost. Argoth can block the S Cavaliers Otherwise, I'm going to go on a tweak spree to buy us the most movement next round.]

So far I like C-K7 as Argoth's bulwark position. It blocks a line for deployment above J (further tile for S Cavalier is K5). The only Cavalier that is a threat wields a Lance and is blocked by Wotan/Oren.

Caution: Falling edits

Oren to C-J5, shouts at Lenz and Linia that trouble's brewing down south and they should retreat for the moment, takes a Vulnerary.

Wotan to C-I6, Take Linia, and deposit her at C-I7

Durnock to C-J7

Argoth to C-K7, shouts the same thing at Lenz and Linia, takes a Vulnerary.

Paris to C-E10, pulls Aramel onto her horse by his ear for being such a frakkin' holy idiot, and cantos to C-D7.

Roland to C-D6, takes Aramel from Paris and drops Aramel at C-C6, cantos to C-D5.

Madeline to C-E5, heals Roland.

Durnock to C-H7.

Falcon to C-F5, shouts the same thing at Lenz and Linia.

The holy lady knight Callum Rescues Prisca, cantos to C-H6.

Yeah, time to pull Adele out of there, she's not going to survive this. Adele to C-E7, and takes a Vulnerary.

Imeena attacks Archer #3, cantos to C-F7

Lloyd to C-E2.

Edit: Looks done to me, now that we know what we're doing, we can RP it

Maybe we should leave Linia where she is. If Domni really does charge up, she's pretty much the only one who can go toe-to-toe with him.

Keep Callum nearby in case she does screw up and need a rescue.

Maybe keep Oren, Wotan and Falcon nearby to help hold the line as well, in case we need someone to deal the finishing blow to Domni.

Player units that move on the same phase, yes.

Now you're thinking with Allies.

Let's see what GM fiat says.

Both the Rescuer and the Rescued are tapped after a rescue occurs. This is why, in-game, when you rescue->canto->take->drop, all units are grayed out.

If you rescue (and then drop) an 'allied' unit, they will untap during their relevant Ally Phase. The same will occur if an ally rescues and then drops a PC (see: Durnock); the PC is tapped until the next Player Phase begins.

Oh. In that case, if we Rescue and then Take->Drop Linia this turn, she will untap in the upcomin Ally Phase anyway and be free to move.

In that case, GrassyGnoll's suggestions should work no problem.

EDIT: Reposting Grassy's modified plan, in the order it's supposed to happen.

Falcon to C-F5, shouts at Lenz and Linia that trouble's brewing down south and they should retreat for the moment

The holy lady knight Callum Rescues Linia, cantos to C-H6.

Wotan to C-I6, Take Linia, and deposit her at C-I7

Oren to C-J5, shouts the same thing at Lenz and Linia, equips Iron Axe, takes a Vulnerary.

Durnock to C-H7.

Yeah, time to pull Adele out of there, she's not going to survive this. Adele to C-E7, and takes a Vulnerary.

Imeena attacks Archer #3, cantos to C-F7

Lloyd to C-E2.

So we're playing Hold The Line instead of All-out Retreat. This looks as good a setup as any.

Hopefully we'll have enough people in place to swarm Domni and finish him if Linia faces off against him.

I think it is asked for a picture of Madeline with Falcon's hat.

Also to have RP question, is Nina to be with Paris now? Or to assume to be at tent now? Or to be with Madeline when [dismount] action happened?
