So whose characters do what?
Im just a basic mage with very useful usage of basic spells, 8 quall's feather tokens tree tied to bolts of my heavy crossbow. 50 sets of marbles and 4 sets of hearth fires totaling 48 of them.
Marbles force a dc15 balance check if anyone moves onto their square.
HearthFire: When wet they give of 20feet of light and 20 additonal feet of shadowy light. I have 48 of them so we can really light up a room. Also they stop working when they are dried and can be reused by getting them wet again.
Qualls Feather Token: 60foot tall tree is formed where ever it is used. I have them at a 120ft range since they are tied to my crossbows bolts. Or my unseen servant can use them around corners.
DM What is your ruling for using grease on some marbles? Would the Dc increase? Would it make them roll down hills farther?
It would depend on the type of terrain, and what's stepping on them.

Lets try 4!
A stone floor and marbles are walked upon by a human.
A grassyfield also walked upon by a human.
A slope as a human is charging up, the marbles roll down the hill and into a grease spell then they meet up the charging person
Finaly walking up/down stairs.
You get a +2 to balance checks for every 2 extra legs you have. I think thats in the SRD somewhere. Ima go check

1) DC would be higher
2) No change, DC would probably be lower since most likely the marbles would sink upon being stepped on.
3) If it's a flat(ish) smooth slope higher, if it's rough, probably the same perhaps lower, depending on terrain.
4) Higher, although the stepper may have rails to grab.

2] yeah thats also sensible
3] How would going up/ down a slope with marbles make the DC lower? If ye stayed in place I doubt the DC would change as the marbles pass.
4] I guess it wouldnt change if the marbles and grease spell were active at the same time. But if the marbles were on 1 step as they went down and then the grease was on the rest so they would slide down... Mental note, grease the railings.

Somethings may not be affected by marbles. ;)
