Your SMBG personality cracks me up.
Where did you say that trip was? It looks like a beautiful area.

Well, that might not be the most flattering picture of me, but that's a fluke, don't worry. I'm much more calm, composed and handsome, really-
I really like my Greek Literature class okay

You're no longer with the maid service, then? A shame -- how well the uniform would suit you.
You look like how I have always imagined the author of xkcd to look

Re: You! (A picture/Media thread) Thread XXXI: Roman Numerals Make Everything Fancy
Due to popular demand, I've gone through almost all of our photos of me taken since last summer. Despite being anything but camera-shy, I'm terribly good at not getting caught on film, and when I am, I'm mostly turned the other way or blurry. Still, here's a compilation of the best pictures I found:
Gotland, last Summer:
Spoiler
The whole reason for trees to exist must be for me to climb them:
This is probably my favourite picture of me. What can't be seen in this picture, however, is the 10-15 metre drop just before my feet:
Gotland is known for it's rauks (smoke-like stone formations). And yes, you can climb them:
This rauk proved especially tricky to scale:
...but in the end, I made it:
For some reason, this rauk reminds me of Elvis (the two boys trying to climb up to me are my two brothers):
Some of you from Random Banter may remember the pictures of a dragon I'd made out of sand that I posted a year ago. Here it is again with me lying next to it:
No, I haven't got any idea of what this is supposed to be either:
Country house, last Christmas:
Spoiler
What isn't all too obvious in this picture is that the tree I'm standing on is only held up by that power line:
Country house, this spring:
Spoiler
I really like this saw. It may be old, but it's biting like no other and can cut almost a centimetre in one go:
Naturally, dad manages to take a picture just when the saw decides to bend itself. Nothing harmful, but it looks unprofessional:
It's actually colder than it looks (see the ice in the first picture in this suite), but all the work made me sweaty. The gloves are there mostly to protect my hands from the pine needles while loading the wheelbarrow:
Country house, this summer:
Spoiler
Playing with my cousins' dog. I'm always this close to catching her, but she's quite quick and slippery (and might bite me if I actually succeed):
I have a few more pictures, but since they all feature some family member or another, I feel like I should ask for permission before I post them here (I made an exception for the Elvis rauk picture since they're mostly unrecognisable in that one).

Such beautiful pictures & scenery!
Your country house looks amazing. I hope to have such a getaway myself one day, where large saws and scythes may be wielded and gardens tended and water pumped.

It is. It's actually more of an old farm than just a house, however. Apart from "lillstugan" ("the small house"), which can be seen in the scything picture, we also have "storstugan" ("the large house"), which the inside picture is taken from, the cowshed, the stable, the earth cellar, the minor log-cabin and a great number of other houses. It's also in the middle of a lake, and the landscape is very pretty. I really love it there. The pump, however, is non-functional.
It is a lot of work, however. Especially since last Christmas, when the storm Dagmar struck us at full force and blew down a great number of trees (as well as made us powerless for almost 90 hours) which need to be cleared up (hence all the sawing pictures). Then we have the garden to tend to, the fields to keep open and the houses to maintain. Still, there is always time for myself, which is what I like, and when my cousins are there as well, there's always a lot of fun to be had.

Is it an old family property, then -- or, how did your family acquire it? What do you grow in your garden? Having a big rural property like that is one of my great dreams in life. I make do with my small downtown garden for now.
Forgive my nosiness please

You are a true Romantic.
I meant that you are sublimely attractive, but that too

Working shirtless outdoors when it's below five degrees is nice. What isn't nice is nagging parents saying you'll get pneumonia again. I've never had pneumonia in the winter, only the fall and the summer.

All a bunch of nice pics. I wish I could live somewhere like that.

Your nosiness is forgiven. I actually kind of like it.
The farm is old family property, yes. Since we only go there on holidays, we mostly grow low-maintenance bushes and plants (such as roses, lilacs and rhubarbs), but we also have a small patch of white wild strawberries growing next to the house.

Yeah, I figure I am. I've always liked the romanticism the most...
Thanks.

I agree. The only problem is that that place is located at least 300 metres from the sea, and there's a 10 metre cliff somewhere inbetween as well. There used to be a radio tower or something standing there as far as I know, so it might have been used to fasten a wire, but it looks far too elaborate just for holding a simple wire, and it also looks like whatever it's holding should be easy to loosen and remove as well...

Well, I don't think it was 5oC that day, more like 10-15oC (which still is cold to me). I think the spring came suddenly up there, and the ice is always a bit late to melt away anyway.
Oh, and look at this, another batch of images, now with parental approval:
Student graduation, last summer:
Spoiler
Me as a recently graduated student together with my two brothers, my aunt (on dad's side) and my two cousins. I was wondering what my sign would be when I saw this one over the crowd, and you have no idea how happy it made me. I heard some people mumbling about it being weird, but I didn't care:
Me and mum. The envelope holds my (high school) grades. They were good:
Gotland, last summer:
Spoiler
Strong winds won't stop me and my brothers from enjoying the ride. Quite the contrary, actually:
It bears a striking resemblence to Hello Kitty/Bunny, doesn't it? I secretly believe it to be their bastard offspring, standing dormant, waiting to be awakened so that it can unleash its powers on the world:
Yeah, I leave it up to you to come up with something (in)appropriate to say about this one:
Summer house, last summer:
Spoiler
My cousins just can't get enough of teasing eachother. I can't get enough of hugging them:
The perfect solution to siblings' quarrel:
We have a beach too, reachable by boat:
Me, my brothers, younger cousin and good old granny (on my father's side, I'll never get used to not making a distinction):
Summer house, last Christmas:
Spoiler
Me and little brother, ready to battle Dagmar and her forces:
Summer house, this spring:
Spoiler
Me carrying around older cousin:
Summer house, this summer:
Spoiler
This is how every dinner goes when my cousins are around. Nothing strange in this picture, really:

We may never know.

Ah, because of the ice I assumed it was cooler. Ten to fifteen degrees is basically perfect for me. It's about twenty degrees today where I am and even that is a relief after the consistent 24-26 degrees it's been. (It rained heavily last night, maybe that's why it's cooler.)
