Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Oh, I know that. That code is simple. BUT I thought in case we were using 5d6, I'd use that function I keep forgetting to display all the individual rolls so I wouldn't have to completely reroll later.
These stats are kind of middle of teh road.
8, 12, 10, 12, 8, 15. Yup, pretty pedestrian. But you know what, i kind of like it - some Cetra racial adustment ought to make that a pretty respectable set of caster stats right there, mm-hm. Although I think I shoudl be able to spring for a Charisma of 12 or 14 and an intelligence of 12, so I'll make a good party face as well as healer. I've learned some cool applications of the Deception skill I want to try out

Ooh... ouch. Not too fantastic there - not a score over 14. I like rolling with teh punches of medium scores, but I know not everyone shares that opinion. I forget, does this system HAVE a point buy? If you're not happy with your rolls, Regalus, perhaps our noble DM would be happy to let you point buy instead

Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Spear actually, exploding one at that. Inspired by the gunblade, a mix of a shotgun and a spear. With pump action and everything! Really, if you ever watched Big O, think of his finishing punch with a spear and instead of steam, gunpowder.
Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Exploding spear? I don't think of Big O, I think of this one villain Luffy beat the everloving crap out of back in Golden Era One Piece, Don Krieg. he used technology and intimidation to fight, but little did he know neither of those tactics will ever be effective against someone as brutal, determined and occassionally dim (yet somehow brilliant and insightful (at the time)) Luffy
My character will be carrying a gun for a few levels at least; she's not much of a mage yet and someone like her would be too prissy for melee, so a big semiautomatic would do nicely. I just need a character name... all my best characetr have only 4 letters in their name:
BLUE
Chie
Amon
Knox
Maso
Good times. Now i just need to think of another 4 letter name

Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Basically done, barring some equipment (and my all important search for a suitable character picture). I'll have it to you by tomorrow, latest.
And see that, Marc? I netted you a whole 4 other players (aisaku, zeone, regalus and hemnon) by just asking around in the games that I'm in if they'd be interested. Much more effective than just a regular old recruitment thread, don't you agree?
Today is a good day - I've managed to brag about my player finding skills (which amounted to posting all of 3 messages in my OOC forums saying we need more players) about 4 times and generally act pompous. I guess that's me geting into character - I plan on playing Hime (yay, I thought of a four letter name, the circle is complete) as kind of bratty at first, in need of discipline.

Meteorfall is fine by me but then so is everything else.
Hey, I don't think there's much in the way of noble or wealthy families outside the Shinras is there? Then again, if we're stretching the canon enough to allow another Cetra, some snooty family and their big mansion out in the middle of nowhere shouldn't be that hard to contextualise. Any ideas, Marc?

Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Well there is certainly possibilities that there are many wealthy families that don't work for Shinra living around the planet, take for instance the man who owned the holiday villa in Costa Del Sol.
Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Yeah, but I meant like in terms of recognisable people. Ah, that doens't matter - I'm writing an RPG character, not a prequel, I can make up whatever I want. Although Costa del Sol sounds nice - mind if my character starts there before everyone clicks onto the fact she's a Cetra and she has to go on the run? It's far away enough from Midgar for her to not feel the true exploitation of the Shinra corporation (which owns basically everything) and explain how she's gone unnoticed until now, yet still civilised enough to make for comfortable living. And it being by the sea adds a whole other dimension to her fleeing if we say started the campaign around that time. She's rich enough to hire mercenaries to escort her to safety until her destiny becomes clear (healing the world-wound or something) which the other Cetra party member could, following the voice of the planet, jojn the group of to get close to, guide and watch over the young Hime. That could easily be how they met, if the other Cetra was in teh area, and if you can't think of any other way to start the campaign, there's a free one for you.
Then again, there was that other coastal town on teh Midgar-continent (god I'm bad with place names) and I don't need to be in Costa Del Sol when I'm found - I could be on a business trip with the folks or something.
My character will have trained herself to ignore the cry of the planet to make her life among humans more easy and doing so would be easier form a place like Costa Del Sol than Midgar or any other power generator where the mako is so greatly disturbed. Perhaps a trip to teh city would shock her ears open. Just an idea. I make up my ideas as I go along, so I'm usually subject to rambling OOC liek this. But hey, Marc, you knew that

Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Close enough really, Junon. I could always have just fled there by stowing away on a ship, or gotten cornered there by shinra agents whiile travelling (or even just lived there, if you wan) or god knows what. Care to give me a lead-in, Marc? My character hasn't really acquired training in their powers (or if she has, they've only been recently acquired) so I lack an 'origin story' that predates the game's beginning, so I'll need your cooperation a little since her origins are ongoing.

Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Hmm... not really feeling the appeal in that one. I kind of wrote in she's had to hide her Cetra nature even from herself until now, which is why in spite of her innate empathy she can act so boorish and spoiled at first; figured her family would be on at least friendly terms with the Shinra system for that angle to work - she wouldn't have much reason not to do her whole Cetra thing in Wutai and already be a healer.
But perhaps you've got something in mind with such a specific angle. Let's hear it, Marc, would you care to make your case why i should use that plot hook? I don't know much about Wutai that wasn't in the original game, sadly, so I might have to, like, LOOK UP things if I went with that, but I know that's the least important aspect of the thing (and the least I can do)
