Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Yeah I have it, thing is I visit my family on weekends, couple that with studying and I don'thave enough free time to work on a character 'till Sunday evening.
Asha is a young adult lioness, with orange-red color fur, and bright yellow eyes. Being female, she lacks a mane but she wears a pair of mythrill earrings, which she had made by a blacksmith. She has 3 tattoos, 2 in her shoulders and one in her lower right flank. The shoulder tattoos are calligraphic wings in black ink. The one in her flank is a ring of flame.
MO
Asha has taken a taste for wandering around, following trials and deviating from then when it fits her fancy. As any wolflion, she is at home in nature, being able to provide for all her needs in it. Out of necessity, Asha does know her way around towns and stores, but prefers to make business in private, as she doesn't want to bring attention to her.
Background
She may be part of a different tribe than Nanaki, or perhaps she's one of the few survivors that have strayed from the pack, as long living as they are. So basically a wolflion wanderer, with some magical training under her belt, exploring the world. (Even if she has a fondness for wide open spaces.) As for motivations to stop wandering and commit to a cause those would have to do with the harming of innocent or more likely any threat upon nature's balance. Since Cosmo Canyon is in a different continent than Junon, I think that either the tribe is based on Junon's continent or that she wandered long enough to cross to the next continent.
Revised story and sheet. Are the numbers right now?

Everything is fine now, except you need to put your total attack in your weapons, which should be 1d20+8, and your Spellcasting skill modifier should be +6. The additional +1 comes from its associated ability modifier, which is Wisdom.

I've been trying to find some element to really make my backstory pop and I think i may have found it. Aisaku, do you think you could have known Hime from her youth, when she was too young to really remember? Any entity of mako would do really. Hmm.... may be better if it was just the planet itself, but a brief encounter with a wiser figure may help

Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Hey, that's not fair. How come the Spellcaster limit tree gets a way, WAY better healing limit break than Geomancer - a limit tree that should be all about being the Cleric, essentially (their primary abilities being to heal and seal)? Clear Tranquil of the Spellcaster heals a flat 3d12*Int mod to all allies in 5 square radius, whereas Healing Wind heals 1d10 (plus con, but I'm not sure if that means my con or the targets con) to allies, no radius given. My con sucks - in fact, I have a penalty. Point is, one would have to be PRETTY high level when using Healing Wind to even compare to what someone at level 1 using Clear Tranquil. Limit Breaks are always where the system gets a little weird I guess, seeing as how they are supposed to seriously budge things in the player's favour durng dramatic moments, but come on.

Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Question are all thrown weapons supposed to be returning? I ask because I believe you stated this earlier in the thread, but in the PDF, only the shuriken is outright stated to return to the user after being used.
Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Starting Feat: Materia Training (magic) Limit Breaks: Healing Wind and Seal Evil (though I wish there was a fix for the former) Trained Skills: perception, persuasion, deception, treat injury, spellcasting (of course) and.... gather info (?)
Cetra Noble, of course. Str 6, Dex 12, Con 8, Int 10, and either Wis19, Cha 14 OR Wis 16, Cha 17, can't decide.
Basic Concept: consciously ignores the cry of the planet, for throughout her whole life as Shinra has desecrated the planet and its resources, that cry has only gotten more intense and worsened her mood. For this reason, she listens to loud music, keeps vibrant company and 'occassionally' drinks to drown out the constant feeling of dread her Cetra sensitivity brings. Due to her rejection of her more compassionate side, has grown rather bratty and, while having a good eye for people when she looks, tries not to look.

I know that, but I'm just saying it doesn't fit (from a gameplay perspective, I know Word of God kind of takes its toll sometimes in the original video games) to have two very similar abilities, both with the same (lack of any particular) prerequisites with one vastly superior to the other. Maybe at least have the Geomancer version, I don't know, move them along he condition track or something. My character's a geomancer and I'm sticking to that.

Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Which limit break are you referring too? Healing Wind? If so, i will add to it that it can also move all targets that have been moved down the condition track to go +1 along.
It's fine if Asha, my wolflion character, knows Hime from her youth.... Asha's race can go for centuries so they could've met at any time, any moment. Although I do wonder why does Hime ignore the planet's call? Because she's alone? Because she resents the duty pushed upon her?
Marc:
I'm guessing the crit for my natural weapons is x2 right?
Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Yes it's Healing Wind. I would say it would be better if it moved you to the top of the condition tree, but that's just me, though it would make it more about restoring than brute force HP.
She rejects the call of the planet because she doesn't understand, because she feels helpless, like there's nothing she can do. It calls out to her, sadly, and in turn only makes her sad; she's not the sort of optimistic character Aeris is who can weather through all that, especially when those around her discouraged her odd habits from her youth (conversing with nature and such) for fear she wasn't right in the head. She tries to tell herself there's just something wrong with her, because she thinks she at leats has dominion over herself - she can at least fix herself. In her heart of hearts she knows the sadnes she feels, the voice that calls out to her, has a deeper meaning, but she rejects that meaning for fear, fear of futility; how is one small girl supposed to save the world, after all?
So I guess the short answer is because she's alone, as you said. But more specifically, her being alone makes her afraid, makes her efforts seem futile; with no voice in her life to tell what to do, no voice of the planet that didn't make her confused and sad to listen to, she has no one to turn to, no one she can trust or rely on and no way of understanding or fulfilling her duty. I considered her having some Ghibli-esque adventure in her youth she tries to tell herself was a dream. Your character could be her faint memory of that, or any wolfion or nature spirit, really.
Marc, does the planet ever have manifestations? Like spirits that an incredily sensitive Cetra girl may notice, perhaps? Something like a waking dream... I gues it woulkd vary with what the campaign objective is, someone to tell her a bit of her duty. Perhaps she wandered into some forest and go lost in her youth, falling into a mystic glade where she met some avatar of he planet itself...

Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Well, could you have an aspect of them appear to Hime in her youth? Nothing major enough to put two and two together, just enough of a hook for her character. She's ignored the voice enough that I don't think it would be a spoiler or anything; even if the other characters are better informed, she'll likely speak of her experiences with the voice to no one, not until SOMEONE teaches her to accept it.
You know what I would like? An excuse for Hime to wear ceremonial dress during some event, probably a ritual that she'll be half prepared for as this world's healer.

Re: Want to give Rosso the Crimson a good thrashing? Here's your chance! (Players nee
Hmm.. she'd have pretty young, probably 4 to 6, maybe 8 at the oldest, so she wouldn't have the best memory of what was said to her, more she would carry the sentiment. Although her speaking to the planet is rarely a verbal thing, more a feeling, feeling what it feels, so she would only really have a feeling anyway.
More importantly if there were exact words it should dictate her destiny, which would be subject to the campaign story which i can't know yet. So I would say what was told to her, basically her intended role as a hero, would be left up to you; as of the campaign start, she'll have tried to block it out. Though I would say, it would probably involve 'healing the planet' or something a little vague but definite like that. That seems to fit best.
I plan on starting with a cure materia and training in it, which would be a natural sort of proficiency, but I can't quite envision how she got the materia yet... maybe when she found it in a market place and touched it, it responded in such a way it tipped shinra off? Hm, but anyone can use matera for the most part, and it was never said that, say, Aeris had materia respond to her any diferently than Cait Sith or Cloud or Tifa. Maybe if it's MORE than just a Cure materia it appears to be? Aeris got a plot-materia, why shouldn't I? Maybe Shinra agents were keeping an eye on the seemingly useless chakra, and it was awakened by her, the key to fixing the world... ooh, maybe the materia contains a certain soul. Perhaps a fragment of the spirit who talked to her, which when combined with her ability to Speak With the Planet might yield more... interesting results at plot critical moments. Just spitballing. Any of this sound appealing?

You can at least tell me the idea, right? That's what the PMs are for. Just tell me if there was anything special abotu my equipment even in that 'my materia is special, it does nothing at all' Aeris way

Hmm... Players, could I get a huddle?
*checks over shoulder, whispers* Don't quote me on this, but I think he wants me to have a special necklace for some reason
Where did Aeris keep her materia again? I think it fell from her head in the infamous FMV, so in her hair with her bow, maybe?

Don't know why, but I want a tiara now.
As I recall, you have to dole out Summon Materia at your own discretion, right? I'll be taking materia training (summons) at level 3. Can I have Shiva or something? No, something more nature themed...
Could we get a reverse Demonic limit tree? A sort of advanced limit tree - it would only be available to those with a few limits in Geomancer with sufficient level and would give them transformations. I would go for an angelic transformation of some sort. Too greedy? It would be a long term goal, probably not acquired until th climax of the arc, probably around level 10 or something
