the game still continues, but he has moved to another plane without much in the way of a population. he will return when the current creation of his realm is finished. he is by far complete with the material realm and is certainly not amateurish.
If he's effectively done with the Material Plane, then all the more reason to sacrifice it. Devouring the gods would make creating one's own planar realm that much quicker.
Just saying, a lot of squandered potential right now.

Oh! got one! Riedra. The nation that dominates the continent of sarlona in the eberron setting.
Big brother's real and he's in your freakin' dreams man!
Seriously though, it's Orwell's 1984 with psionics and a government run by outsiders that manipulate your dreams. *shivers*

I've always been irritated that they never did any books for law and chaos like they did for good and evil with BoED and BoVD. Sure they'd get their fair share of scorn just like the above-mentioned titles, but I'd certainly have liked to have them, and I'd bet I'm not the only one.
I remember a thread where the FC III - yugoloths, was rated high in the list of "books that i would like to see printed"

I had the impression it was more Brave New World than 1984 - the Sarlonans are generally under the impression that they're happy, aren't they? The Inspired appear to be nothing more than highly enviable celebrity/government types, like Prince Harry and Princess Grace IRL; as long as you don't actually get picked for "replacement", I'd imagine you'd have no idea that you were living in a dystopia. Whereas IIRC the Oceanians in Orwell were pretty miserable even when they weren't actively being suspected of thoughtcrime or anything.

The Book of Lawfully Lawness and its Chaotic equivalent would be at the top of my list, to the extent that I've made small strides toward creating them myself. (And yes I have better names in mind.)
Actually encountered this in a game once. I mean, it was more like a creepy dude chaining (mindless, brain-eating) zombies to beds in his basement, and charging for it.

I feel pity for your eyes and soul. I was posting in the undead/evil discussion and stopped to start reading this thread and someone mentioned "THAT CERTAIN PAGE" in book of erotic fantasy a page or two in and then I immediately tried to kill myself when I thought of necropolis society + ghoul rot + hookers. Brb think I need to vomit again.
Could be worse
I remember a DM who had a army of Death-Touched(Whatever the undead ancestry human is called), and they were made in secret by taking 1person from a family every few years and they were used to make the guys and once they died the flesh was taken for flesh golems and bones for bone golems.
That was creepy
