Apologies for the lack of posting. The forums went down when I planned on jumping back in and I've only just now been able to bang out a reply. :X

No problems all around. Since things were down I figure people weren't checking as much. :)

Inedible: Sun Tzu brings up a good point.

What is our courts standing when it comes to human users of the dark? Obviously we all agree to destroy darkspawn, but what about people touched by the dark?

DO any of our courts have a particular stand or leaning on this subject? Or is it as grey to them as it is to us at the moment?

Heck, I don't think all the members of the Cult of Broken Dreams are even touched by the Darkness - many are 100% natural men and women who have merely been brainwashed (non-magically) into believing that positive emotions are a bad thing, and that making themselves and the people around them horrifically miserable is the right thing to do. What's the policy with people like that?

Here goes nothing!

Also, I haven't read the Cult of Broken Dreams' write-up, so I am going in just as blind as my character. It is both a wonderful and frightening feeling

While this is true, as far as we know those weren't even how zombies; his inability to actually control them seems to point in that direction. So either he's very inexperienced with his powers, or someone else made those zombies and told them to protect him.

Well, you're courts don't tell you to go murdering everyone associated with darkness, or you'd all be in Storms. Humans tainted by the dark fall into a sort of morally gray area, If they are still human, maybe they can still be helped? Right? Possibly? That's what your courts would want. Queens are idealists, they come from a land of pure good.

Then again, your characters don't. If a person willingly gave themselves over to darkness and are an active threat to the light of the world, how can you stand by and let them hurt more people? Your Queens would mourn the loss of life and might be disappointed you couldn't save everyone, but probably accept your justification if you had a good one.

The Queen of Swords is the only Queen with something vaguely appropriate for this situation: Her first oath is 'In the End, Only People Matter'. If it hurts people, it is wrong. So it would be wrong to hurt this man. So does that mean it would be right to hurt another Noble and her followers to keep him safe? There's no good answer, only YOUR answer.

I bet that was so helpful.

My questions still stand. How do Radiant usually deal with this sort of situation? Do they have some kind of magical prison for darkened humans? Like Erin said, this can't be the first time this situation has come up!

I'd rather avoid the boom-stick combat where possible, actually. The narrative forces of this world are closer to Madoka than Nanoha; defeat usually means death, not friendship.

Blasting Darkspawn? Cool.
Blasting potential allies? Significantly less cool.
Getting blasted by potential allies? Way less cool!

You don't have secret jails. You find some way to use conventional systems or make your own. Or use a secret jail that someone already has! Not that you know anyone that does. I mean, what can you do? Radiants are rare enough that it's amazing there are 8 if you in the same city, and your courts hold no clout in the real world.

In my opinion, the thing about "I do what have to be done" is one of the most dangerous thing to say: that's how you explain genocides and things like that...

(EDIT: Wait, Godwin goodwin point spotted...)

About prisons: the thing we all forgot here is that we're here not only to fight darkness, but to learn to others what this fight is... to earn them to the side of Light. Therefore, we have to teach them what it means... even if that means teaching a darktouched (?) what good feelings are.

If it means going Nanoha with a torture room, go on ><

About Iscariote: he is currently in the middle of the sea, under orders... He'll be back on thursday.

Do you reeeeally want to give the person who might be trying to kill you in a few seconds your phone number, AKA a possibly traceable currency if they have the right contacts?

That is in one sentence, so it's a "I give you that if you give me that". At least it was intended that way...

Furthermore, I'm technically already traceable... with both Fame and Striking Look, I'm not really the kind of discret lady...

I think the Hopeful's magic makes it hard to identify their real self based on their transformed self or vice-versa.

True. This will only go so far, however. If you give people info linking your Noble self to your mundane self, your magic won't cover that. Supernaturals also have a better chance to recognize you than mortals. Basically don't let facts start stacking up against you.

My explosion sense is tingling.

And of course, the Storm Queen is the one with all the crazy fighty upgrades that poison you and deal aggravated damage and generally kill you deader than dead.

Just dandy.
