Which reminds me that I ought to provide some direction to my sprites in prospect...
Nil [base: Lucius]
Spoiler
I had in mind a palette-swapped Lucius bishop sprite. The color scheme I wanted to use for reference was the silver-black-gold-red of vanilla WoW's tier 1 priest set (minus the big glowy staff and red bunny ears).
For a portrait, Lucius with the corresponding color swap and gray eyes should do. Maybe contour the eyebrows into a less gentle look.
Nadir [base: Igrene]
Spoiler
Just Igrene with brown hair. Lighten the poncho color if it clashes. Keep the lipstick and beauty mark.
In case you couldn't place the quotes, Nadir is an expy of the condition suffered by Leonard Shelby in the movie Memento. His eyes should look distant; so smudge the eyebrows and maybe give him silver-gray irises.
Boudica [base: Ekhidna]
Spoiler
Dye Ekhidna's hair strawberry blonde and give her a light blue-steel gray color swap. I can leave or take the pauldrons on her shoulders, so if you find a fur mantle to replace it with go ahead. The battle sprite may be more difficult, as you'll have to swap a Warrior chest-piece onto the typically bare-chested Berserker...
Or just use a modified Warrior sprite...

I'd rather just start the draft (once we hit 16 characters that aren't mine) with my generated characters in it. Sure you lose a slot or two, but I'd really rather start this sooner than later. I mean, you don't really need 9 people to out-strategize me in a 1L8P map, right?
Forgot about flier -5 Growth. I fixed it. Does it check out.

This time, the 'Flying General' is based on this guy. Paging for a portrait and battle sprite for Lu; I don't really have any firm guidelines in mind for his appearance, save that his horse must be red.
Yes, I'm building him as a strong and versatile unit who will be useful in the early and mid game, but falters in the end game.
It's not a put-down or insult to anybody, just and acknowledgement that you know, deep down, that nobody will ever be able to compete with the work of art (music, writing, drawing, sculpting) you see before you.
So now, I officially declare Water_and_Wind to be the best spriter on these forums, and everyone else can go home.
I've actually gotten the "everyone else go home" reaction a couple times for my voice impression of a deep-voiced character that everyone seems to love even though he was only in like three episodes.

Its just Saul with a beard and a custom hat and fan. I'm not sure where all the praise is coming from, because frankly the custom parts are a rush job. Just ask one of the artists in the playground, I think they'd concur with me on that.
If anyone finds a decent "Magician" sprite, could you toss me a PM? I'm trying my luck at making a portrait, but the battle map sprite is NOT going to look like the standard mage...
Oh man, this looks like a ton of fun! I'm really unfamiliar with the process of making a character for a Fire Emblem game though, so I have absolutely no idea where to begin.
That'd be awesome. Hmm I'm up in the air between wanting to be a caster (shaman-druid) and wanting to be a mercenary-hero/myrmidon-swordmaster. Looking over your list of characters though, I see two swordmasters already so that might be out. Which would be more helpful/desirable if any?
Oh and I've played the video games, so you don't have to worry about walking me through the general mechanics. I'm just not well-versed in the stat/growth distribution process for creating a character.
