"it'll get both of you used to the negotiations," she offers, "This would be Aurora's first contract too, so something simple should be a good start for the both of you."

In the background, Kaya poors tea into three mugs, and brings them over, taking a seat and sipping from hers, "if you get my mom to give me a little sister," Kaya promptly does a spit take. Aurora starts rolling on the ground laughing, "Oh god, that was so worth it!" she says between bouts of laughter, once she calms down, with an extra bump on her head curtesy a massively blushing nekomata, "hehe, how about you just come by and keep us company every now and then and we'll call it a deal?"

Vance shrugged the joke suggestion from Aurora preferring to stay away from those matters. He focused on the gifts and the deal for about a few seconds. The deal seemed to be quite fair. "Well ladies, I believe we got a deal." Vance proclaimed before a brief pause. He wondered how he was supposed close a deal. He reached out his hand to offer a handshake.

Aurora takes Vance's hand in a shake. For a second, both hands glow and a sigil appears on the back of Vance's hand before fading from view. Something similar appears on Aurora's hand before doing the same as Vance's.
(Vance now has Comprehend Animals 2 Limited to Cats and Linked Boost 4 Dexterity and Strength, all with Personal and Total Fade applied)

Once outside, she goes over to a tree and lets a small blue flame appear on her fingertip then drops to the ground. The ground surges up and a coffin emerges, which opens to reveal a very gaunt humanoid creature, with no skin and black muscle. It doesn't really look all that scary despite this.
"Here's your opponent."
Shou Shou chimes in, A remnant? Well, they're not that strong, and are fairly friendly for undead...

Vance face turns pale as he watches the undead creature in front of him. "I... I... Alright, lets do this." Vance had doubted himself for a few seconds but this was his chance. A chance to become to train and become a hero. His ideal was finally in his reach and he though of this as his first step.

The remnant places a hand across its chest and bows as if it were a butler as Shou Shou activates the boost, causing the mark to appear on Vance's hand before fading again.

The remnant dodges to the side and makes an attack itself, hitting but not really dealing any damage, surprisingly, it's not very strong, but it is a LOT faster than it's appearance would suggest.

Almost as soon as Shou Shou appears, Aurora tackles him while squeeing "KAWAII" and getting Kaya to facepalm, "you've shrunk since I last saw ya Shou," she says, "HELP ME!" Shou Shou shouts in a panic.
"Okay, that explains some things. How about I offer you a trade, your ability to boost your strength and agility for a spark of ghostfire," Kaya offers, showing the same blue fire she had animated the remnant with. "Can't... breathe..." Shou Shou says before slipping from Aurora's hand and literally bouncing around the forest before landing, face first, in the ground in front of Vance.
Kaya's trying to hold back her laughter as Shou Shou pulls himself free and flies back into Vance to hide from Aurora.

Kaya takes a hold of Vance's hand and the symbol from Aurora's contract appears before twisting into a new shape, "that should do it," she says as another symbol, a halo with wings, appears above the one from Kaya and Aurora and the two meld together, "contract syncronization, what every contracter looks for when making contracts. Complimentary contracts that work together to make a stronger whole."

Looking at the symbols on the sword again, Hisoka remembered hearing something about a professor who taught at the university in the next town over and was a specialist in ancient linguistics. Checking to make sure he had enough change to make the train ride out to the next town and back, he said goodbye to Lyn, who was intently studying the scroll and gloves, walked out, and starting heading to the train station.
Hisoka didn't manage to get a seat on the train, so had to stand for the fifteen minute train ride. He looked out the window and blinked at the bright morning sunlight; he was stiff and tired from sleeping on the cold warehouse floor. He purposefully ignored his cell-phone, "Mom's gonna be pissed when I get home". He should have called to say he was going to be out for the night, but he was too excited to have bothered with it. "Oh well, she can deal." he thought. This was more important anyway.
The train pulled into the station, and Hisoka got off and began walking towards the university.
The train pulls to a stop and a wave of people get off, which isn't surprising. They end up carrying Hisoka off the platform in a solid wave of people, but eventually they disperse. Hisoka only really has to walk another couple of blocks to reach the university. The gates are open and a large group is in the courtyard, one ordering people around as they scramble, it looks like they're getting ready for a trip.
The one giving orders is the professor Hisoka is looking for, Doctor Amegaki Tesla, noted as the leading archaeologist in the province and the leading expert in ancient linguistics in Japan. By what he can gather, Hisoka can tell they're heading to a digsite found just outside of Inaba, surprisingly close to Ryoo High.

Hisoka walks into the university courtyard, which is surprisingly busy for a Sunday. People are running around with papers, shovels, and various digging tools, frantically trying to to organize. Amid all this chaos, Hisoka sees that the man calling out orders to the others is exactly who he came to see.
Dr. Amegaki Tesla is probably one of the few people who can read what is written on Hisoka's sword. Hisoka hangs back to the side of the courtyard and considers his chances of successfully sneaking into one of the groups. "I need to get Doctor Amegaki alone."
