Now you make me question what a lawyer pony does..... *scrutinizes Anarion closely
A lawyer ponies primary duty is obviously to convince ponies that there is in fact a legal system, as opposed to arbitrary decisions by the eternal monarchs. If everyone believes in lawyers, they inherently believe in a judicial system.

Well, we haven't seen any kind of legislative assembly, but Equestria definitely has large cities and a mayor in ponyville as opposed to strictly being based on feudal nobility.
Nitpick: mayors and cities are not signs opposed to nobility. In fact, 'mayor' of old is feudal officer overlooking a portion of his lord's property, ensuring taxes are paid and order kept, freeing lord to do lordly stuff like hunts and jousting (which is canon in Equestria) and spending monies. True, later mayors were somewhat democratically elected in free cities, but if city was property of a noble, they were only merely educated, appointed overseers, in some countries still are, in fact.
"Well, the Great and Powerful Trixie can't actually transport you to Equestria... But!
The Great and Powerful Trixie can beat you over the head until you think that's what happened!"

Actually, a major part of my backstory is that there isn't enough work for a lawyer pony in Equestria. That's why I spend time teleporting around and occasionally popping in on the various magical duels going on.

You're absolutely right. And considering we know that Blueblood and Cadance are around, not to mention Celestia knighting Twilight, it seems clear that Equestria has both a system of nobility and some kind of local election system that allows for mayors.
Oh and that shirt is more fail than hipster. I can't believe that Walmart intentionally would do that, so much as they would just pay so little attention as to pick the wrong image.

That or some trolling by junior staff got out of hand.

Perhaps it's just really specifically marketed towards passive aggressive fans of G1 who resent the success of G4 and the Brony movement?
...Really?
Don't you start, it could happen.
But they got ponies that served as base for G4 crew remarkably well
I seriously think a brony is behind that shirt for that reason... just made it as a joke or something around the office then it accidentally got picked by the executives or something.
I like this artist's handling of Chysalis' leg holes:

Thanks for the tip!
On the other part about the comic book failing, I don't really see it. The people working on it seem to know something about the show.

Ever since the comic first got announced and I was directed to Andy Price's deviantart page I could tell that these guys probably know what they're doing.
I think it comes from those really bizarre German (I think) comics where all the characters have their stock pictures and no other poses as well as the Zebra King being Zecora in Spike's pimp hat.
Now feel the wrath of Filly Twilight being cute!
