Apparently, we've been getting the new villain's name wrong.
Spoiler
"Sombra", is Spanish for shadow, which does seem to fit his apparent design better then "Somber".
Also, *Insert joke about King Sombrero here*.
Spoiler
Well, little miss Amore Di Cadenza (or however you spell it) has a spanish name (title?), so it would make sense for one of the antagonists associated with her shares a theme.
........
Shoot, I am going out on a limb and say that Sombera's her evil uncle. Which shall only futher raise questions.

"Mi Amore Cadenza" is "my love Cadence" (sic.) in Italian. It doesn't mean anything in Spanish - English "Cadence" (sic.) translates to Spanish "Cadencia", and English "love" translates to Spanish "amor". Conversely, "Sombra" doesn't mean anything in Italian, but means "shadow" in Spanish.

The only two somewhat reliable bits of data state A) Saturday and B) that Hasbro will tell us month before episode, leaving pretty much 17th / 24th November.
Or as I predicted offhand, December 1st, just before episodes show up on DVD

No, they said in an e-mail announcement that it would be in November, we just don't know which weekend.

That stood for SpikeXPinkie Pie. What 7 characters did you think I shipped together?
I don't know - though I'm sure I could figure out a set - but most acronyms that I think of as such are also initalisms (which means they are formed of the first letter of each word). I can't, off the top of my head, think of any acronym that uses the entirety of any of its component words.

Is it just me, or is Pinkie putting on a little flab in the...plot, in that picture?
that shape is supposed to be her...

the way horses walk is analogous to you on your tippy toes. the equivalent of her heel is underneath her when it would normally be well off the ground.

I think what it is is that she's on her knees sitting on her hooves, but the artist didn't draw a separation between her thigh and calf, so her legs look blobby. Really cool lighting effects though.

Today's mission was very easy as the UFO was almost entirely destoryed when it was shot down. There was only one survivor and I shot him down easily without even having to leave the ramp of our Skyranger. Lucky us I guess.
Your Faithful Student,
Twilight Sparkle
UFO 55
Spoiler
Dear Twilight,
Today's mission was different. We went in fully equipped and thanks to the new scanners fully aware of what we were facing. A team of Floaters that honestly didn't know what they were up against. They managed to fry our tank early on but we gunned them down in the open fields. One of them blew itself up inside a building. I don't know what it was trying to do.
Initially the psionics weren't working out so well and we were handling things the old fashion way. But that changed once I started scouting the UFO itself. Inside I spotted two of the aliens but before I could do anything one just tossed it's gun a way and walked up to the other alien which blew them both to bits! That was spooky but not the worst. Up a level I came face to face with another alien. It walked ahead of me and I shot it in the back. Spike told me he controlled it and used it to scout for me. Still that wasn't the worst.
The worst was at the top level. I walked into the command room and the three aliens there started attacking each other. Once only one of them was alive it tossed it's gun away and walked up to me. It slowly reached over, grabbed my gun and shot itself in the head. I don't know how I feel about these psionics. I mean I would've fought them happily. HA! Look at that sentence. Is killing them with our minds so much worse? If it increases my chances of getting back home to Sweet Apple Acres and seeing my Granny Smith again I'll use psionics myself!
Doesn't mean I have to like it though.
Your Friend,
Applejack.

Well, uh, I'm kinda on ask-strike since my drawing for the answer to the bananas question hasn't been posted. But I also didn't want to repost the image, 'cause shortly after I drew that one, somelich ended up upsetting the entire thread in an action that involved the pony I drew.

Another easy mission today. A night job that we solved with some quick mind control. Bugger managed to fry our tank first though and man did HQ tear into us for that one. I don't see why I mean sure the mission was so small that we actually lost money but it's not like we don't have money to spare. We're rollling in bits over here and I hear you are too!
Keep it cool,
Gilda
Hey what does the alien mission, Alien Base mean?

You made a drawing for an ask? I don't recall seeing it...
Was it a supply ship? That means it's provisioning an already existing base and you can follow it without shooting it down to find the base.
If it's any other type of ship, it means they're in the process of creating a new base. Depending on the ship type, they could be scouting for a location or part of the landing group that is actually putting up the base. I think shooting them down can stall or even prevent the creation of the base, though eventually they'll get it put up and you'll have to find it and take it down.
Oh, ponythread, right, it gets confusing sometimes. Well then, have a pony.
Spoiler
Woops, how did that get in there?
Let me try again.

Huh, I never know that. Got my quota in for learning something new today!
Um, if I still remember correctly from when I occasionally helped care for horses, real horse brush looks like this (heavy duty, metal) or this (rubber). Both are used to clean hard-working horses, something fitting AJ. The one on the picture seems to be fine coat care comb, something more fitting Rarity or Twilight than AJ

S3 clip said Saturday, Hasbro stated they will announce it 4 weeks before actual day. Which so far leaves only 2 last weekends, unless they lied. QED.

No problem, these threads move faster than a speeding four-legged mammal that may or may not have wings and/or horns. Things get missed, so I sent off a PM. Doesn't help that I'm one of the lesserly-active folks around the thread.
'Sides, I'm an Art Historian. If something doesn't offend me on some level, that offends me.

That's because he doesn't mean acronym, he means portmanteau.
To paraphrase that famous quote, Maxtronaut, with regards to acronym "you keep using that word. It does not mean what you think it means..."
The former is a word made up of the initials of other words (e.g. "Aotrs"), and a portmanteau is a word made up by combining two (or more) other words - as is the case commonly used in shipping, such as here.

Funnily enough, I have been ruminating on crawlingly dead (pun unitended) the thread seems lately. I assume this is due to the seperate RPG thread at least in part; though I suspect that the absense of Thanqol and SiuiS plays a large part in that too...

I saved the pic, if I remember at all. It didn't have the tumblry question at the top though, so I wasn't sure if it was intended as an answer or just a drawing.
But, yeah. People stopped answering questions so people stopped asking questions. I think.
