Re: Døden kommer til deg (3.5, low magic, players wanted)
@Captain_Obvious: There is good enough armor for any type of non exotic armor, but no special materials.
The language of magic is still draconic, so needless to say, no one knows it (on purpose, things like tongues (modern usage of the word) may happen or something similar.)
@Erik Vale: No psionic feats
@Gotham: Go for fractional explanation.
The binder is treated like a witch, in that they have strange and crazy powers and could kill you with a glance, an evil witch, not a nice one who gives you poultices and cackles at shadows.
@tigerusthegreat: I don't have a submission deadline, but I think 2 weeks should be fine? How about the 15th?
@Everyone: 2 things -
1. You may, if you want to, re roll your stats once.
2. The vitality and wound alt rules replace the standard HP rules.
Vitality points replace HP's, Wounds are in addition to your constitution score.
You are only rolling for your vitality, and you are rolling for every level, re-rolling 1's (1st level is not maxed)
And the d12s (8d12)[12][5][6][1][6][6][12][3](51) so 47 hit points
Sif's chose daughter will hopefully be a kick ass lady warrior with her broadsword and White Raven moves. I'll start to get her in a timely manner for the 15th

Definitely interested. I'm thinking a skillmonkeyish devotee of Loki by way of bard/swordsage.
Question: Was factotum left off the list of allowed classes intentionally? I figure it's less overtly magical than the ninja or hexblade, so it might have just slipped your mind. If it wasn't intentional, cool, I'll probably do factotum/swordsage instead. If it was, would swapping out the SLAs for something else or restricting them to "subtle" magic (enchantments, non-visible abjurations, some non-obvious illusions, etc.) work?

Hmm, interesting point, it was left off intentionally, but you make a good argument, go ahead and use it.
EDIT: What would you suggest to replace the SLA's (and tbh you can keep them)
Re: Døden kommer til deg (3.5, low magic, players wanted)
Okay, background
Hrolf Bjarki
Spoiler
Step 1: write five things about your character’s concept and background, five things that you think are the most essential parts of your character.
Spoiler
1) He always wanted to be a blacksmith since he was young. He spent a few years apprenticed to the village's blacksmith.
2) His parents were great warriors who died in a raid.
3) He has left behind this admittedly simple ambition to become a warrior to honor the memory of his parents.
4) He has a knack for plans, stratagems and leadership. He projects an air of confidence and knowing what to do; even if he doesn't know what the hell to do but normally, plans come naturally to him.
5) He has established himself as a competent and experienced commander.
Step 2: List two goals for the character that you, as a player, think would be cool to see accomplished in-game
Spoiler
1) Hrolf stepping out the shadow of his parent's reputation and forging his own path.
2) Hrolf feeling more and more comfortable in his role as a leader and stepping up to a greater cause.
Step 3: List two secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet.
Spoiler
1) Hrolf is one of the potential candidate to become the next War Chief. He is completely oblivious to this fact.
2) Hrolf feels uncomfortable in his role as a leader thrust upon him by his skills and covers it up with a subdued persona.
Step 4: Describe three people that are tied to the character though blood, romance or honor. (No, no romance, can't write it off the start well.)
Spoiler
1) Edgar, the smith he apprenticed under. He is respectful of Hrolf's decision to become a warrior to honour his parents, but still considers him a dammed fool for making it. Friendly.
2) Helga, the resident "old crone". She took care of him when his parents were off raiding and she was younger. Friendly.
3) Finn, a friendly rival, childhood friend and ever enthusiastic warrior. Friendlyish.(I CHALLENGE YOU MY ETERNAL RIVAL!)
Step 5: Describe three memories that your character has
Spoiler
1) He remembers the first knife he forged, he still has it with him. It's crude, ugly and functional but it was the first thing he made as an apprentice. He remembers the feeling of accomplishment as he hammered its shape out.
2) He remembers his first command. He was part of a raiding expedition as a warrior. Everything was going well until their commander got shot by an arrow. He managed to rally the other warriors and finish the raid. He remembers the panic and the fear he and the other men must have felt and how he pulled through it. He still doesn't understand how he pulled through this every battle he commanded after that.
3) He remembers learning how to play Hnefatafl from Helga. He remembers loosing badly at first and as he learned his way around the game, he remembers the joy of victory and Helga laughing jovially at his antics while he celebrated defeating her.
is this TMB okay?

Re: Døden kommer til deg (3.5, low magic, players wanted)
There are some farily good factotum acfs here, including a bunch of stuff dilettante can be traded for.
On the subject of witchdom, the main questions would probably be: could the rest of the party know about your powers without wanting to cut your throat at night and could the rest of the tribe know about them without getting out the torches and pitchforks? Are they allowed to live as only a social outcast and not a physical one?
Re: Døden kommer til deg (3.5, low magic, players wanted)
Due to games going slow lately... I am interested in this. By the way sorry to not repost on the other recruiting thread, it ended being so crowded that it scared me away.
I would like to play a bard / warchanter (from complete warrior) if everyone is okay with it. Since warchanter levels do not seem to stack to determine the bonuses of bardic music could I take Chaos Music (dragon magazine 326 pg 80) pretty please? Character concept would be a wandering Skald focusing on witty poetry.
I am guessing DFI inspiration is out of the question, but I would like to play with some inspire courage.
Also I am assuming that bard spells are out, since this seems to be a low magic campaign game, am I correct?

0. Damn. Ok.
1. Nope, I'll keep those 19's thank you very much.
2. So we roll vitality, and our wound points is just our level*constitution modifier without a maxing, got it. I'll grab another roll from the d12 and make the requesite modifications. I might be done today.
Also, you missed my ancient daishio question, I'll edit it into this post.

For Disciplined's ANCESTRAL DAISHO, while Magic is a no can I use it as a class feture (call it an artifact). I am fine with it being a no, heavily nerfed or requiring more than normally stipulated, but in the case of a no, can I instead grab Weapon Masters starting feats (Weapon focus and use of 1 exotic weapon)?

Re: Døden kommer til deg (3.5, low magic, players wanted)
Okay, I was hoping to request jiriku's Fighter Remix base clase. Also, there's a couple of new and redone feats in there, including Weapon Specialization and the Dungeoncrasher ACF through feats, that I'd like to request. See the second post in the thread.
Also, would the Jotunbrud feat from Races of Faerun be acceptable? It's sort of Faerun only (since it is a Regional feat), but it would make perfect sense in this game.

For the players, it will be up to them and you on how that plays out, generally speaking, witchery is not openly done, it is viewed as evil and unlucky. Those with special powers are either able to influence those who see them do it, are shunned by everyone, killed, or hide their abilities.
Who knows, maybe the story may start with a chance to use your powers and reveal them unto your fellow clansmen?

Yes, no spells but full bab and D8 HD and the chaos thingy is fine. Shame to see you gone from the other game, you had a great concept going on....

Umm, what is the question regarding ancient Daishio?
Also, your wounds are equal to you con score, not your con mod * level.

Question: regarding Exorcism of Steel maneuver (p 67, TOB), does that attack include a sunder attempt? It says you attack the weapon as per PHB, and I'm assuming the citation is on the sunder rules.

No, Ancestral Daisho is not allowed.

I would say (and after some google-fu) that it counts as a sunder attempt (with all the rules therein) but doesn't sunder the weapon but instead delivers the penalty via the maneuver.
Re: Døden kommer til deg (3.5, low magic, players wanted)
Notes for me building my character:
Spoiler
Name: Valan, Male Human (Viking)
Feats: 3 from levels, 1 from human, 1 bonus from warblade lvl 5
Stone Power, Power Attack, Shards of Granite, Ironheart Aura, Improved Sunder, Vital Recovery
Class abilities: Battle Clarity (int bonus to reflex), Weapon Aptitude, Uncanny Dodge (dex to AC while flat footed), Battle Ardor (int bonus to critical confirm)
BAB +6/+1
Base Saves: +5/+2/+2
Maneuvers: 6 known, 4 readied, 2 stances known (max lvl 3)
lvl 1: 2 man, 2 stance: Punishing Stance (Iron), Charging Minotaur Strike (Stone), Steel Wind (Iron) Stonefoot Stance (Stone)
lvl 2: 2 man, Disarming Strike (Iron), Mountain Hammer (Stone)
lvl 3: 2 man, Bonecrusher Strike (Stone), Exorcism of Steel (Iron)
Vitality: 47 from rolls + 24 con modifier = 71
Wound: 19
Background:
Spoiler
Step 1: write five things about your character’s concept and background, five things that you think are the most essential parts of your character. You don’t have to stop at five, if you like…this is just a minimum.
Spoiler
1. Valan has a strong respect for his father, who was also a proud warrior of the Iron Stone
2. Valan's family has developed a fierce method of fighting known as the Iron Stone discipline, combining elements of the Iron Heart and Stone Dragon schools.
3. Valan's family line have been axemasters back ten generations.
4. Valan's mother died giving birth to him, something he blames on himself.
5. Valan aspires to writing a book on fighting techniques.
6. Valan also aspires to learn everything there is to know about war.
Step 2: List two goals for the character that you, as a player, think would be cool to see accomplished in-game. During any session in which you take positive action to achieve that goal, I will award you an action point that can only be used in scenes furthering that goal. These Action Points are separate from the action points you gain by resting and reaching milestones. You can change goals later, though you lose all the accumulated Action Points for the goal you abandoned.
Spoiler
1. Learn enough about war to write a book about it (and write the book).
2. Defeat a great foe in single combat.
3. Defeat a foe by sundering their weapon, but dealing no real damage to its wielder (subdual only)
Step 3: List two secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet. This will help me in creating plots that center around your character. I will also be creating a third secret which you as a player will not be aware of, so expect some surprises!
Spoiler
1. Valan is adopted. His mother died giving birth to a stillborn, and his father adopted an orphan whose parents were killed in a war. Valan does not know this.
2. Valan's true bloodline were once chiefs of his tribe. However, this was a long time ago, and the line is forgotten (and most believe it ended with his parents).
Step 4: Describe three people that are tied to the character though blood, romance or honor. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile. All can do something useful for you, if you can get the situations to line up. If you like, you can include an enemy of yours here as well, so I have an instant NPC nemesis to throw at you.
Spoiler
1. Valan's father, Niald IronStone. A proud warrior, who has retired to a life of making weapons instead of using them. Niald taught his adopted son everything he knew about fighting, and is glad to see him taking up the art of fighting.
2. Trinalt Ironstone: Valan's grandfather. Blinded from an infected wound to his face, the old man lives with Niald. Valan has heard stories of many exploits of the Ironstone line from Trinalt, and these stories are what spurred him to fight in the first place. He strives to make his grandfather proud.
3. Leanne Drinsban: A beautiful red haired woman of Valan's age whom he is deeply in love with. She has not returned his affections, but he believes that she does love him, and would make a fine wife.
Step 5: Describe three memories that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.
Spoiler
1. Valan remembers a long boat trip when he was very young. He does not recall many specifics of it, besides being afraid and seasick. While he does not get seasick anymore, he does not enjoy long boat trips.
2. Burning his hands badly when helping his father at the forge at a young age. He learned to respect the weapon, even when it is being made. He still bears the brands from the hot metal on his left hand.
3. Kissing Leanne for the first time: Though she slapped him after he stole the kiss, it completely sealed his infatuation with her.
