She hesitates a moment, but reaches for Kyne's hand slowly enough that the assassin girl has plenty of time to pull away. Either way, she'll go to lead her up to the beach; it's sunny out, but fairly cool now that autumn is upon them.

But do you think it's strange for a death goddess and her aides to nurse infants that end up in our realm? I've been having to do that a bit more often lately and it sort of got me wondering.

Kyne thinks for a few seconds. Apart from you, I know one powerful God of Death and a minor goddess of journeys and transitions who guides good Pyrite souls to their afterlife. But Thanatos is incredibly evil, of course, so I don't like to think about what he does with babies. I could ask the goddess, but I don't think she gets too attached to souls.

Bella smiles, but she knows she'll have to keep Andy and Callie from murderfying each other's faces.

I don't care if you really do like the Callie we just went and got and are just being utterly oblivious, or if you hate her and know that all of your stuff is basically designed to make her angry at you, but whichever it is, try not to mess things up, alright? In the first case, you're just having the opposite effect from what you want, and in the second, dragging other people into personal feuds is not a good thing, and that is going to happen if you keep this up."

Carrie eeps a little, but finds herself very happy to kiss back and quite glad that Kyne is showing initiative! She puts up her wings as a feathery privacy screen, though it's unlikely that anyone is watching.

((As I understand the timeline, at some point Angela hooked up with a demigod and their daughter instantly grew into the teenaged Callie. She was mostly raised in another city, but spent some time at the future Vulpan Keep, where she met Andy and Bella. If you want, she could have met Caledonia there. Otherwise, the daughter of Angela and Carrie could have just been raised in the future HALO and never saw the daughter of Angela and the other dude or Callie Pyrsol could have heard about her, decided she sounded annoying, and intentionally stayed away. Also, because the Pyrsol girl is quite a bit less Good than the rest of that family, they may not have talked about her very much.))

((I made Callie long before the rest of the future babies showed up, but I have no problem retconning things to fit her in. It kind of makes sense that, right before Angela gave up her powers and got married to Sioda, she had a quick fling with this guy. Whatever works.))

Pyrsol knows a lot of magic, but Caledonia kicks butt in melee. If she can withstand the spells, she'll clobber the other girl. I'll match that five bucks.
