The violinbot nods once and its eyespots brighten up happily. He sets down the paper bag and the violin case, opens the case, and withdraws a beautifully made electric violin with a body made to look like a musical note. He holds the violin up to his shoulder, and runs one hand gently up and down it, testing every piece of it, tuning it, making imperceptible changes only his complex sensor suite could pick up.
He holds the bow to the strings. The air seems to stand still, but his personal drift of autumn leaves swirls around him.
He plays, dancing along with the tune and his leaves, twisting and turning in ecstatic glee.
