Assuming they scan Harnel too, he's a bit of an odd case. His genome is entirely human, which suggests he should be a normal human, not the half-dragon that stands before them. Also under the influence of alcohol, a few weird types of energy suffuse his body. Most notably, elemental fire (duing to being a half-red dragon) and a second, less definable energy. Likely what's mutated him so far from what his genome proscribes.
"It's definitely not the drink, I can tell you that."

The female scans Harnel, yes. She immediately gets excited and shows the male the results. He is also very excited by this, and pulls out a rather clunky-looking device and scans Harnel with it.
Yes, after much trouble they made a basic magic scanner. While not really high-quality, it should give them a better idea than their other scanner could.
A genius loci and a demon in human form... Huh. It hardly seems wise to seal one within the other, not the Wizard at least, who would think that if the cave's magic provided food to the explorers, it might well provide a method of escape to the demon. But then, it would seem the demon is still very much here, so-
Ms. Bloodplunder speaks and the Wizard very nearly leaps out of his skin with surprise, grabbing the third tablet and letting the others fall to the floor as he whirls round to face the speaker. Who are you?! What are you doing here?

"I'm Mrs. Bloodplunder, retired adventurer. Well, semi-retired. I'm here to find out what's going on and crack the skulls of those responsible, if they need cracking." She's still holding her flail ready to whack the Wizard if necessary. "Who're you, and what do you know of what's going on?"

Oh. Only an old lady. A very dangerous old lady and some kind of monstrous race, but no demon. Or so the Wizard would hope. I'm an adventurer myself, here for much the same reasons. Except... I don't think mere bludgeoning will keep this in check. It would appear that the source of these quakes is a bound demon.

"I guess they found you more interesting," Wenomir says, although he feels that he's losing whatever grip on the situation that he had. "They seem harmless, at least."

"How you deal with anyone who might object would be entirely up to you, Mr Starling. I just want to make sure you understand what is likely to happen when the results are published and are capable of dealing with them. I can get you the results you need. You have to be prepared to deal with the fallout. Sound reasonable?" Roberts asks.
"It does," Starling replies. "Do you have any other concerns or requests?"

Tito grins. "It's a deal."
Brand chuckles. "Still a lot of clean up to do around here though."
"Mm-hmm." Justin barely moans. As he finishes his sandwich, he stands up and dusts off his backside. "I'll go and get the vacuum. You guys can maybe get started on, I don't even know, the counters or the sitting area? Or do you guys just want to go straight to the bathrooms." It is dreaded work to clean out years abandoned public toilets. DREADED.

Lily pulls a face. "I'm not cleaning old yucky bathooms. That's gross!"
"Better old ones than fresh ones," Tito says. "It's the fancy kind of chamberpots, where water comes in and washes the poop away, right? Those aren't so bad. We didn't have those back home."
"It's still other people's poop!"
Tito rolls his eyes. "You're such a girl!"
"Lily, you don't have to clean the bathrooms. How about going out and wiping off all the chairs and tables?" Brand suggests.
"I don't blame her. I'm used to gross stuff, and I still don't wanna do this." Justin says. Of course he's just be a lazy bones. "Dont have too much fun without us, okay Lily?"

Mrs. Bloodplunder is, in fact, entirely human. "It's bound? Good. Means it won't try to run away. And there's nothing 'mere' about my bludgeoning." Her flail is enchanted to make its hits harder and its weight heavier to everybody it's hit by whilst it's lighter to the person carrying it. Although even without that, I wouldn't want to be hit by Mrs. Bloodplunder's flail.

[Guy's Night Out]
Harnel nods as they continue to scan him, "Seems odd." He's not exactly worried, given they don't appear to be hostile, but it's still pretty weird.
His body is entirely suffused with elemental fire, with a lot of it centered in a small extra organ attached to his heart, lungs, and stomach. It should also show that he doesn't digest food normally, as his body breaks down most of what he consumes into elemental energy for his own use.
The second type of energy is best described as emanating from his soul, and while it also suffuses his body, it's much more subtle about it. It's mutative but stable, locked into the single form that Harnel is in now; theoretically, if this energy were to be applied to another creature, it would become a half-red dragon, but only if it was applied to them while they were in growth. As an adult, it's relatively dormant.

The magic scanner works! Yes! They are very excited about this!
And the results are very cool, too! The elemental fire is interesting, and that other energy is also very fascinating... a pity their ramshackle magic sensor can't get that much information.
Ramshackle for them, that is.
The male approaches Harnel, explains something to him, and then... asks him something? The female, however, is pulling out some vaguely tube-like object with itty bitty needles on one end.
"Are you asking me something? I can't very well agree if I don't know what it was. Can you speak in common?" Harnel says, looking at the needle thing with some apprehension

The male shakes his head, and pulls out a tablet, and after a few taps shows Harnel a picture of a DNA strand. Now... he's doing something... there is a flow chart...
The female, who apperantly has a better grasp on the whole "they don't understand our language" situation, is looking annoyed at the male.
Uhm, no ma'am, I'm sure there isn't. But in my experience demons are hardly vulnerable to any bludgeoning, no matter how fierce. Although if anyone could beat a demon to death, the Wizard would wager it to be Mrs. Bloodplunder. I think maybe it would be best if we simply renewed the binding upon it. This tablet here holds the ritual.

"No other concerns or requests, Mr Starling. Simply tell me where to go and when I can start, and I'll get to work right away." Roberts says, reaching into a pocket for a piece of paper. "Shall I give you an address to contact me at?"

She married an orc, and has a half-orc son, but is in fact fully human, or at least human as far back into her ancestry as she knows, so that's just as far as her great-great-grandfathers on both sides.
"In that case, you need to either hit it harder, hit it somewhere else, or both." Mrs. Bloodplunder doesn't have much patience with wizards, feeling that hitting people with magic isn't as fun as hitting people with something large, heavy, and most importantly, blunt, though preferably spiked. Swords are, therefore, out of the question.
