So does killing Balion's beast, rather than just stealing the rose, correlate to his Might makes Right mantra he kept spouting to us? Now that the guardian is slain, do we want to take a look inside the maze?
Tarith, have you found anything interesting while in there?
Gigglemug, what could you possibly be worried about, the guardian lays dead at out feet, surly there could not be a greater danger than this in this maze.
@Xander: Gigglemug looks frightened. "You don't understand! We need to leave the garden! Old Balion fashioned the place to react to any attack - especially to its caretaker! The Rose Bearer lies dead, but now the garden will adapt and enhance itself. That's why I asked to leave when we had the rose! We must flee!"
Dantie understanding now what the little fey is saying looks at bishop and says. I do not thonk that trick will work on three of them. Some tell Tarith we have to go and now before more of them things come. And with that Dantie runs for the exit.
Xander looks intrigued at Gigglemug.
I will inform Tarith to speed his return, but please elaborate, what do you believe will happen if he remains inside?
Strange, I wonder why a wand was hidden away in the maze, where these flowers a fey like yesterday?
You may wish to hurry up in there, Gigglemug looks awfully worried something is going to happen if you stay longer, he claims the garden will adapt and enhance itself in some way, keep your guard up, and do not take to long. I asked him to elaborate on what he believes will happen, I will keep you updated.
Xander looks puzzled at Dantie.
Three? Why do you believe three more of these things will come, was this one not specially crafted by Balion?
Dantie looks at Xander. Normally when the fey run from sonething that is of there world it is a good idea to do the same. If glimermug is correct as he said and that the maze will adaptt, it has seen Bishops strength and know that it will need more then one to repel him alone. Think of it as a living breathing creature. You attack one part of the body and the immune system responds. Eventually betting back and destroying whatever is inside it. It will keep making more and more challenging things until It eventually just tries to tie him down. I do not know about you but I much rather leave that for the Lich to deal with. We can ask Balion about the maze latter if you want more information on it. Dantie says from the safty of outside the maze. Oh and the fact the door can close at anytime, trapping everyone in there inside....I will be out here thank you, where pelors light shines over me. Dantie says looking up to the sun.
™Xander: "The roses were grown by Arrallae many years ago, when she walked through this part of the forest. They were bestowed with great powers. Balion worked on the roses after She was gone. The Rose Bearer was its care-taker. There can always be only one, so was Balion's decree. However, should the care taker be bested- as it has been. The garden will learn from its fall and take measures to recreate it's gardener..."
Gigglemug looks at Bishop.
"By fusing it with the one who dealt the killing blow."
At that moment, The entire garden shrieks as green pollen is sprayed forth covering the entire hedge maze. The Rose Bearer's body begins to emit green tendrils, as if looking for sustenance. Mighty roots covered in vines lash about.
Targeted Greater Dispel Magic to everyone in the maze: (1d20+15)
@Bishop: The roots attempt to entangle you and draw you towards the Rose Bearer's body.
Reflex Save DC 30
™The Party: A wall of thorns begins forming at the maze entrance.
@Bishop: You raise your hand to chop the roots, but these wrap around you tight and begin dragging you ever closer to the fallen Rose Bearer. If someone could cut the roots for you, you might get a chance to avoid being pulled into the creature's body.
Dantie hears Bishops voice and as he sees the door closing behind him he lets out a shout so loud that it seems to almost be filled with divine energy. As he does so a great burst of fire comes raining down upon where the Battlebriars body once stood. Bathing it and a 10ft. area around in in holy flames.
(11d8) damage reflex save DC21 for half damage. This should burn through the vines for you Bishop. Hopefully.
As the divine fire comes down and strikes the vines trying to entangle Bishop and drag him into the body of the dead creature Dantie screams at the drunken fool RUN, RUN NOW! And with that the door closes before him.
@Dantie: You bring down Pelor's Might on the vines and these subside, scorching away and retreating into the earth. The roses and mushrooms shriek as the body of the dead battle briar clamors for fresh sustenance.
@Tarith: You hear a few walls away Bishop crying for help. The roses around you have begun fluttering wildly and you notice roots starting to crawl towards you.
As Bishop gets free of the maze Dantie cast a quick healing spell and looks at all of them. Xander do you have any spells of teleportation? If Xander says no Dantie begins getting ready to go into the maze.
(1d8+5) cure light wounds. add 50% to whatever the roll is on healing Bishop. So Bishop gained 9 life.
Dantie, I had to use my only teleportation spell to escape the maze the first time, I would advise having faith in Tarith's ability to escape the maze, last I heard from him he was going to be heading toward the entrance soon, more of use entering will only seem to complicate matters, seeing as he is the only one of use able to walk through solid objects, witch should ensure his safety.
is the telepathic bond still active one all of us, or was it dispelled off of Tarith, and Bishop?
If you think that is the best course of action you are welcome to attempt to locate him, however I believe more of us potentially losing our way in the maze is more of a risk than can be afforded, especially if the maze will be simultaneously targeting both Tarith, and anyone else in the who enters. We also have the matter of the entrance to the Maze being sealed over we must address before you attempt to enter.
I assume the entrance has been growing closed more and more as we talk, or is completely closed by now.
@Tarith: You run through the hedge maze. This one shrieks as mushrooms and roses go in a frenzy. The roots at your feet snake around as you leap from wall to wall, eager to get that last loot. Then, the roses spray a different colored pollen, as red as the roses itself.
Fortitude DC 29 or fall asleep, (not like the spell) for 1 minute
@The Party: You watch as Bishop runs out, slightly scorched as the maze shuts behind him. You watch as the maze is filled with a red mist that covers it as more shrieking is felt. Sadly, there is no connection to Xander, since magical properties on yourself were cut off inside.
"You managed to get out, but Tarith is still inside...", Gigglemug looks at the maze in fear.
@Tarith: You see the coveted bulb shining a few feet away from you as you´re about to reach it, your vision goes blurry and your legs grow heavy, you fall with a light thud on the forest floor as the roots wrap around you and begin dragging you away...
@The Party: "Tarith isn't out yet. The garden will probably attempt to assimilate him, since he's the only one left in there, unless he found a way to escape."
