Yes if you destroy the statue it should at the very least seal the vault making them take extra time to get in their. Meaning we can save these people and trap them in their I have the spell just for this occasion. Dantie says smiling.
And how, precisely is that going to work? They will be able to dispel any effect you can create, which means there is no way to trap them in. Spiders got into the vault, so they can just teleport out. You might be able to buy time by moving the villagers into the vault, and sealing it, but even then, they would either die of starvation, lack of air, or Nerine and the other fellow would manage to open it.
@Dantie: "You place a convincing argument, Dantie. Yet you have failed a most critical aspect of your well-spun tale- We know her personality. Two murderous assassins have come into her Village and made themselves known. A storm of claws and fangs is at her door, threatening her idyllic little village. And you would have me believe she is in hiding? Show us Arrallae, Dantie. This is the last time I ask this, before my scythe does the talking."
Overhearing the man's response to Dantie as Xander moves toward the temple. Dantie, perhaps if you convince them you have her and attempt to flee it will allow Tarith to safely hide it, and give us the opportunity to help the villagers, how quickly can you move?
Might as well get some back and forth taunts, meanwhile.
Nerine slips in and out of reality, just like you, but her movements seem more controlled.
"Nice gear you got there, Spellbane. I can't believe Varian would fall for someone like you. And to think I considered him a mentor. I'll tell you what. because I'm feeling generous, I'm going to spill your filthy mongrel entrails all over Arrallae's statue. Then, I'll go to that backwater town where your Ravens live and string them up from their bladders around the Foaming Wench, while I have Otis serve me dinner dressed as a a pig before gutting him as well. A fair trade, no?"
"I'm trembling in my boots. Wait... No, I'm not. In order for you to come back to Justcrown, and kill everyone, you would need permission from your masters. Sadly, I am afraid that they would never agree, as that would require you to have an independent thought. Perhaps you care to try something a bit more realistic? Perhaps you could try to sing? It would probably drive anyone to suicide, just to get the memories of such bad singing out of their mind."
@Tarith: "Last I remember, you were a drooling idiot at the Autumn Festival, Spellbane. And I wasn't even trying there."
You prepare to launch a verbal counterattack to Nerine's statement, when you feel your bag pack expanding. Something inside is breaking itself free. Then, the bag bursts, spilling the contents inside safely into the ground below, as well as the gauntlet.
Nerine raises an eyebrow.
"You sneaky little rat. Ever the hoarder, but what´s that?"
Luther turns his head up at the glowing gauntlet falling from the sky.
+5 keen bastard sword
alchemists fire(exploded), 3 sunrods(probably go off), 10 trail rations, hooded lantern(probably breaks from the fall), 1 ruby, 3 emeralds, Arrallae's hair, 2 magical opals, 3 pints of oil(probably on fire from the alchemists fire), Mirror, inkpen, fishing net, magical Dryad Stone, 8 longswords, a blanket, bedroll, block and tackle, 100ft silk rope, grappeling hook, 6 scrolls, flask with tear(broken), flask with magical water(also broken), flint and steel, 3 scimitars, the gauntlet of Arrallae, a monocle, magnifying glass, 13 masterwork tools, myriam's note, green stone with conjuration, ring of protection +1, 1 blue gem, 50 pure gold acorns, scroll case, 10 candles, tent, waterskin, whetstone, 2 high quality diamond necklaces, sealing wax, sewing needle, soap, spade, bedroll
I don't think they could see the gauntlet in all of that.
Tarith tries to catch as much of it as possible before it falls
(going for the gems, acorns, gauntlet, magic stone, and acorns.)
sleight of hand(1d20+13)
Gauntlet gets priority.
Dantie is getting ready to answer when he hears a small explosion and feels the divine energy being released he quickly flys towards the gauntlet and throws it in. I will say this one more time. Leave. Danties says feeling the power rushing through him.
If they try to attack or even move Dantie will activate it. (1d20+22)
Dantie, range is object touched. Meaning that Dantie must touch the object. so, not so much, as that would require you to be adjacent to Lucien, and in the AMF.
Tarith is literally moving before he possibly can, so he already has the gauntlet.
Also, grapple does not allow you to get an item from another.
Especially when you have no idea where it is.
Enjoy the Sneak attacks though.
Seeing the flying blur head for him, Tarith slashes at it with his dagger
also, AAO, as Tarith does get one for the grapple check.
Wraithstrike is still active. (1d20+20) damage(1d4) SA: stealing spell effects(6 of them)
Visage of the Deity
Lesser holy Transformation
Shield of Faith
This changes the grapple roll a lot, so might want to re-roll it
Not Good. Blind, and in the forest alone. I have 2 options: I can try and use the gauntlet, which is an incredibly bad idea, or I can try and get to the groves, and hope one of the dryads can cure my blindness.
Visualizing the eastern grove, Tarith tries to use the dimension door to teleport there.
@Tarith: You realize you're in a bad place and situation. Allies are far away. You are blind, and chances of Nerine and the horned assassin following you is very much a possibility. You focus on the Eastern Coven, visualizing the power Arrallae manifested and the heavy rain falling on the place, then you feel your body materialize elsewhere, you hear animals around you as before, as well as heat coming from above. Probably sunlight.
@Tarith: "Nerine? Here? But she was banished! You are far from Swan's Rest, Tarith. I don't know if we have a lead box, but I can see if Uwellyn can treat your malady. Hold my hand, I'll guide you to the Coven.
You walk for what appears to be hours and hear the voices of the dryads.
"Tarith! It's Uwellyn. You can't see me, but I'm certain we can provide aid for this. Nerine is back, it would seem, but we haven't felt her presence..."
"Tarith! I finally found you! Thank you so much, Lady Uwellyn! By Pelor's Light and Xander's spells, we were able to find him!"
You hear Dantie's voice coming in from behind you.
Move Silently (1d20+48)
"We were in the middle of a terrible fight right now, but we won! By The Shining One's light, we won! Thank you so much, ladies, for taking care of my friend. I will escort him back to swan's Rest and start reworking. Much needs to be done."
A completely, and utterly unbelievable lie.
Tarith knows there is no way for Xander and Dantie to win the fight
Xander does not have any spells to locate Tarith memorized
Dantie was rather... angry at Tarith, so unlikely to be happy to see him
That gives him a +60 to sense motive vs the effect, for 3 unbelievable lies. (1d20+60)
And they found me
"Dantie and Xander could not have won that fight. That is not Dantie. I am sorry."
