What is a life gem? Would Averis know? Also, where are rolls to be made here, or in the OCC thread? What is for here and what for there?
To me, OOC is for out of character, Whether dice rolls are here or in the Game thread is (of course) GamerGirl's decision but the question ought to be OOC (IMO)
A question about what is common knowledge should be in the OOC thread (again IMO), a knowledge roll would be either IC or OOC dependant on GamerGirl's decision on where dice should be rolled.
Would anyone object to a little diplomancing regarding the pre-payment?
Only1doug, I am fully with you. Gamer girl mentioned a reply here, but I cannot find it.
Yes a little Diplomacy would be fine by me. This is why I asked, because I wanted to suggest it myself. But in order to try, I must know what Averis knows!
I'd also like to know what a Lifestone is, if it isn't common knowledge then
Knowledge religion(+11), History(+13) or the planes(+11) may give some information.
Knowledge (religion or the Planes) (1d20+11)[24] (if History then add +2)

Oh, please let me roll the diplomancy, you can add an assist if you like...
I'd hope that Averis would know enough to ask his player to make a skill roll, use an item or spell or ability or otherwise ''make a check'' to see if they know anything

Sigh....one of these days I'll remember to House Rule all skills out of the game so that everyone just has to play the game and not just sit back and have all the information handed to them on a platter. I guess I'll just never get it: Why do players like to do the ''I just want to sit here and have you tell me stuff'' instead of..well..role playing and finding out. Sigh

As I'm already annoyed at all the Roll Playing....I guess I should avoid answering the questions for now...after all I might say something wrong. I might be cooler later...
is there anything in Levin's knowledge that would tell Levin always take a gold dragon's word? That they as creatures are monolithic in their morals and temperament?

Hey, for all I know lifegems could be small portable gems that count as currency in your world. And then making a skill check about it would be like making a skill check about what a gp is. That is why I asked.
We need some background info just to let our PCs function. That is all.
Dear companions, as you can see Averis insists that we talk a bit before going in. It makes sense, I think, that he should know what each is capable before marching in, since he hasn't seen the PC sheets. I hope that is OK with everyone.

GamerGirl, you are the GM, could you offer more guidance as to how you would like us to approach things in the future, I can see a few possible approaches:
1. Players assume that their characters know nothing about anything beyond what the player knows, when item is mentioned that is unkown to the Player it is also unknown to the PC and the PC will have to find out from NPCs or experimentation what that item is or does.
2. Players assume that the GM has given all common knowledge of the item in the description and the PC will need to make skill checks against his knowledge skills to determine further information or the PC will have to find out from NPCs or experimentation what that item is or does.
3. Players assume that the GM has not given all common knowledge of the item in the description and the PC will need to ask the GM what common knowledge his PC has of the item. This method seems to be frustrating for the GM so far.
4+ Other methods (please define)
Hopefully if we work together on what our expectations are from this game we can all have fun playing.
Dear co-adventurers and DM, I may not be able to post Saturday and Sunday. If that is so, could the kind DM take over for these two days?
Averis would be all for going on with the adventure, provided that a return way has been secured. He will have no problem going first in line but would rather wait the opponents to come to him rather than charge.

Most of the online maps that I know of are not so great. It's kinda silly to input codes for hours just to have a map display 'one elf, 10 feet from one goblin'.
Unless someone knows of a good, easy map.
But Using a map does kinda limit encounters down to two dimensional close encounters. Because if we have a 50x50 map grid, well you can't go anywhere else or it just gets silly(''ok, my character is 75 feet off the map from the second square on the right....").
I'm not familiar enough with mapmaking programs to offer any suggestions. I'm just a little worried that areas of effect could get confusing against this many mooks. For instance, I'm currently wondering how densely they are situated around the fire.
How black and white is the morality of this world? I ask as the paladin in the group I want to know how much leeway I have with the definition of evil.
I just found out that Pathfinder gives feats every odd level instead of every third level, which way do you prefer? (Evan is missing a feat if its every odd level, would touch of healing reserve feat from complete champion be acceptable? (unlimited small heals upto 1/2 hitpoints as long as a 2nd level or higher cure spell is available)
This is a Wiki for my games. Note that is for all my games, not just this one, so not everything will apply. I'll keep it updated with anything encountered during the game. If you'd like an page on something, just ask. Also feel free to join the wiki and edit pages. You could add any thoughts, observations or such of your characters, for example. And just help with normal editing (like help me get my ''location template'' to work...lol)
And you might want to look at the Noviarn-Pazarluk article there....
