Resurgance of the Lost [Black Crusade] (Players and GM wanted)

So, after a lengthy time away, I am back with an old idea....that comes with a new twist. Anybody who has spent time on the PbP boards knows that PbP games live and die in a heartbeat. Leaving many of us with truley awesome (or not so awesome) characters that we've built....only to be lost in the memories of the board. My idea, is to bring them back.

So, here's what I'm looking for.
1.)A Black Crusade game with a twist. Take a character you built for any of the 40k genre of RPG's, bring it up to the proper XP level....and convert it to the Black Crusade system.

2.) A GM that will stick around. This one's really the biggest requirement of them all. We need a GM that can both handle this kind of game, and one who has the time/endurance to do so.

3.) Ability to use char's that we've created on these boards, with minimal change/whathaveyou. Preferably put us at the 12kish xp range, due to a prior Rogue Trader to Black Crusade version of a game that's already been attempted (loved my Heretek that was built...would rather be able to keep him.) This also means having it semi-Rogue Traderish so that we can have a ship. Also allows for a larger number of players (in case of dropouts).

That's me plea, and my idea. I'll keep a running tally of interested players, with their original archetype/BC archetype listed.

I was primarily looking for a Rogue Trader game but this might prove interesting. The dedicated GM part really is the key though, without one, it will fizzle like so much else.

I'm not really up to speed on the BC rules but I'll start looking into them if it looks like this will take off. Don't really have any awesome character to convert but might roll up one just to suit the setting.

If we went the Radical/Renegade route, as opposed to actual Chaos worshippers, that could be cool.

Playing a Fallen Dark Angel would certainly be interesting.

Another option would be Radical Inquisitors and similar.

Hey Brol - I'd love to get that game rolling again! I really liked Lady Xanthus the Rogue Trader fallen to evil and the cruiser "The Black Witch".

Edit: Personally, I'd like to play a hate-fuelled faithful of the Emperor (Pure Faith talents!) who wants to bring the Ecclesiarchy (and, let's be fair, basically every other institution) crashing down. Extremely Radical, but ultra-loyalist. Unfortunately, it wouldn't fit Black Crusade, since it's more 'We serve Chaos' not 'Radicalism'. Going by Radical outlooks, he'd be Recongregator/Seculos Attendous. Blurring the lines between Puritanism and Radicalism is fun! :D

Hey DrK! I was hoping some from the old thread would find their way here! Really hoping we can get something along those lines together.


There really wasn't much of a problem in the conversions, only so much as figuring out exactly what the rules meant. I've done a couple of others, so have a pretty good handle on it now. I've got the RAW/RAI down, so it'd just be a matter of what the GM wants to "interpret" as well.

And yes, the full intent of this thread/game is Black Crusade. Besides, it is often the most loyal that fall the hardest.

Edit: Just bought the pdf of Tome of Fate from RPGNOW! Holy cow, that book has some great archetypes!

What's in Tome of Fate? Is it an expansion or adventure path? I've only seen that over the top Thousand Son archetype they previewed.

There's a ton of new psyker powers, new gear that's mostly slanted towards psykers, and new archetypes and gear.

All the archetypes presented are equivalent of a more experience Black Crusade character. CSM's w/ 3600 xp in, and Humans w/ 4600 xp in. They're not supposed to receive xp upon creation. There's 2 CSM (Thousand Sons, and Alpha Legion), and 2 humans (Psyker, and Heretek). They're pretty awesome overall.

It also includes new gear from the Screaming Vortex, including Necron gear. Pretty good supplement overall.
