Actually, I should check: how often are our Fate Points going to reset in this adventure? I know that in my games I do it once per 24 IC hours, but that's no reason to assume the same here.
I'm a fan of the 24 hours myself. So let it be written, so let it be done.
The grate opens into a rather expansive system. Quite literally a maze of large ducts. A faint emblem is on the inside of the panel covering, opposite the keypad:
Dride Inc.
This company must be the one responsible for at least the security of these areas but likely both the sewage systems and the security are held under the same corporate umbrella.
Marcus wishes to have a last look at the altar, in case he missed something, since it appears that Father Herstromm was trying to reach it, just before he was consumed by the beasts. Other than that, I think that he'll go down the sewers as well. Plus, depending on where this course of investigation takes us, he plans on proposing another - supplementary - course of action, that is to disguise himself as a member of the clergy, in one of the churches that were not yet attack, in the hopes of drawing our unknown man out, but this could be quite dangerous, so he'll propose it in case we get no results from our sewer trip. If I return before Riddick posts again, I'll post in IC as well.

Spending a Fate-Point to reroll my Awareness test: (1d100)[33] vs 70
EDIT: Actually, I forgot that my IR googles provide my Perception based tests (Awareness, Search), at night, (such as now if I'm right) with an additional +20 bonus. If this is indeed the case, then my Awareness test should be vs 90 and my Search test vs 100. (it still is within the boundaries of the -/+ 60 modifier than can at maximum apply to any test). As it is it doesn't change the success/failure of my tests but only the degrees of success (unless there are also potential negative modifiers that I ignore, in which case this bonus might very well mean success if I was to fail).

Apologies all, I fear I've done a poor job of describing or emphasizing accounts. I make no excuses but I believe I posted a less complete post last time after the interwebz ate my first one.
I do like to have my players solve the 'case' on their own so I'll place a few notes and hints below. But please =) if you, the players, aren't interested in this aspect of the game, please let me know. I'm happy to accommodate to varying play styles.
1) Longshadow paused at the sewer entrance to open it. There's no sign of tampering so he must have had the correct code. Dride Industries is responsible for these ducts.
You all are more than welcome to to try to track the beasts back through the ducts as this is a valid and good idea. Marcus, rocked the Tracking test which will get you 1/3rd of the long way to your location. Two more successful tests OR a single successful test with 3+ DoS will get you where you seek.
2) Longshadow paused out of sight in the midst of Herstromm's murder. What he was doing here, was hinted at and shared in common with all of the murders.
3) Father Herstromm was reaching for the altar in his last moments. The altar is where his prayer book was found. It's possible it was the item of comfort he sought in the end. It's also possible that something of value could be mined from all of his hand written entries related to the fate he suffered. Time dedicated to the task will be necessary:
Literacy Test to do this as quickly as possible and to ferret out any useful info. (I'm making a point of using oft unused skills if you can't tell)
4) Longshadow merely poked the stained glass figure's eye out and did nothing more. He then placed a piece of parchment, not from the Cathedral, on the altar. There must be significance to these otherwise insignificant acts/items. We've already established that Longshadow and the company he keeps is questionable. Perhaps so too are his reasons.
5) As Longshadow opened the grate to allow the creatures into the open and no other sign of a person is found by Marcus' keen eye in the sewers, that means that these things traveled to a specific point unchaperoned. A further sign that something is terribly amiss with these beasts.
6) Marshal, the Drill Abbot, was found at the statue of Saint Valimor. Perhaps there's a link between that and the oddities of this case. And if so, do the other locations of the killings have meaning? If so, to who and why?
Alright, that's it for hints and summaries. Again please let me know if you all are collectively not into this crime solving plot. I can alter sub-genres faster than you can say Tyrant Star.
The run-off ducts are circular but not tall enough to stand upright in (except for Babble possibly). A grate runs along either wall to be walked upon. The water runs down the center. Due to the recent weather, the ducts are quite full. Water rushes under foot that has risen almost on to the top of the walking grates and it moves quickly. At times, the ducts turn vertical descending down into the hive. In these areas, there is a enclosed ladder along the side of the duct. Outside the rainy season, the vertical areas are probably quite calm. Right now, the water crashes down the ducts. The ladders are mostly out of the way off to the side but as you get lower, it looks likely that the farther down you go, the less safe the down-ducts will become.
Also, a warning falling into the water and becoming submerged may wash away the located hair (in it's container) and/or destroy the parchment.
I'm perfectly happy with investigation (I didn't think I'd picked up any indication that anybody wasn't), but I've got to say, you don't need to give us so many OOC hints! Detailed descriptions and answers to further enquiries are great, but when you tell us what might have significance and prime us with questions to ask before we've thought of it ourselves, it takes some of the fun out of playing detective.
Thanks for the correction regarding the sewer grate: I'll edit my old post.

My thoughts exacly. I'm more than happy with investigation, it's one of DH's elements that I find most intriguing. Besides, Marcus is built more like an investigator rather than a combat focused arbitrator, so this is actually what he's (trying to be) good at.

Marcus will need to make another Tracking Test. Following the tracks, you guys will have moved a large distance from the Cathedral. A good deal of downward travel as well - certainly in the mid-hive if not lower.

Alright. Here goes.
Tracking: (1d100)[85] vs 60 (Int + Foresight bonus + Skill at [+10])
Fate Point reroll (since it's quite important to trace them) : (1d100)[3] vs 60

Apologies, folks, but I'm going to have to withdraw. Combination of too many games and a complete mental block in how to properly portray my character.
*bows out*

To the remaining players, thank you. Would you like me to fish for a replacement and creatively add him/her in or continue with an npc (Fenria) under your control?
I don't particularly mind one way or another, but would be inclined towards a replacement player. A PC without a player will probably end up a little bland and zombie-like. Plus, as I recall there were some people who looked like they were making interesting characters in the recruitment thread, but didn't quite make the deadline.
On a completely different note: 15 thrones a head is a gouge, it is our duty to the Emperor not to pay this man. I figure Gideon is the man for this job
Sorry to see you go, Maugan Ra.

By design =) Can you really put a price on Rocket-Grox vs a Carnasaur with lazer beams?

Sorry to see you go Maugan Ra, but it is completely understandable. No worries.
@Riddick: If we could get another player would be good, as LCP said. It might take a bit more, but it will make a more complete group.
