Re: Game of the Evils [Recuiting Players and a GM]
Jamal is done and equiped already.
Question: can i use a Crown of Wisdom instead of a Periapt of Wisdom?
Also, some slight change in his background:
Jamal is looking for the true gauntlets of the bloodlord, not the lesser ones (buying it would let him without money for anything else, and he can't use it properly yet).

Re: Game of the Evils [Recuiting Players and a GM]
Looking at some of the other players rolls, could I have a reroll or no? My highest roll was a 15 and lowest was an 8 with most of my rolls being 11-12.
And I'll flesh out and equip my demonologist tonight when I'm out of school and there's no one looking over my shoulder to call me a satanist or some such nonsense (can you tell I hate my fellow college students so far?).
EDIT:
My rolls were
(5d6b3)[14]
(5d6b3)[12]
(5d6b3)[12]
(5d6b3)[8]
(5d6b3)[15]
(5d6b3)[11]
so unless i can rout that 8 into itself, to get a 20 i'm going to be really unoptimized as a caster >.> (unless i can use demonology to summon genies... then I'll just suck it up and be quite lol)

Carolla is chiefly motivated by slaughter and killing, right? During one of Josep's more insane times perhaps, they'd have made fast friends...
Josep likes and trusts Carolla as a fellow wielder of power and crusher of the unworthy, and they have saved each others lives and worked together extensively. Whether or not Carolla returns the sentiment, they made a good team, despite their personal agreements on how and why to kill.
They banded together for a year and cut their way across the Mountain Kingdom Auben. They personally slew hundreds and hundreds of innocents and enemy combatants alike, making tactical and not-so-tactical strikes. The slaughter filled mass graves and fueled the undead creation of the priests who supported their army-- yes, they were leading the army of General Tylorius to glorious victory over the arch-Priest Rean of St. Cuthbert in the civil war.
They were well-paid for our services! Tylorius provided Josep with the location of the scroll of Silstorussr, and Carolla with fertile grounds to bring Death to many (as well as monetary payment), at the end of the campaign. After they finished securing the nation for the General, they parted ways and promised to meet again some day and take part in glorious slaughter. In his calmer moments, Josep wonders if Carolla is too much like his own darker shades, but in battle there's nobody else he'd rather have at his side.

Re: Game of the Evils [Recuiting Players and a GM]
Need a quick answer here:
Quote:
Bashing (+1)
A shield with this special ability is designed to perform a shield bash. A bashing shield deals damage as if it were a weapon of two size categories larger (a Medium light shield thus deals 1d6 points of damage and a Medium heavy shield deals 1d8 points of damage). The shield acts as a +1 weapon when used to bash. (Only light and heavy shields can have this ability.)
Soooo a heavy sheild base damage is 1d8? So this would make it 3d6?

BTW I am filling the role of tank just to let you guys know
I don't see why it wouldn't. A spiked bashing shield should deal 1 die size larger than a regular bashing shield, or else what's the purpose of spikes on a shield? I'd get the DM to weigh in though.
Edit: Just from an optimization standpoint, I don't see this as imbalanced either. If the shield is a +1 Bashing shield and the spikes are, say, +2 Spikes, you've got a +2 weapon dealing 2d6+2 (Average 9) damage when it hits. Contrast a +3 longsword which deals 1d8+3 (Average 7.5) damage per hit, but is more accurate and has a 19-20 crit range, and it's really not that much stronger. The real advantage of using the shield is if you have Improved Shield Bash, you still get your shield bonus to AC. If you have a spare feat for Improved Shield Bash this is a good investment.

Re: Game of the Evils [Recuiting Players and a GM]
OK one more question :P this is a RAW v. RAI...
I want to apply the enchantment Fleshgrinding to a throwing axe. The axe is a light martial melee weapon which makes it qualify for the enchantment. Yes it the axe is a melee weapon but it can also be thrown.
@DM would you allow a throwing axe with fleshgrinding that works even when thrown?

For blazinghand/DM:
Spoiler
Carolla was approached one day by an Imp, calling himself Portize, who promised to put his skills to good use. Portize led Carolla to his master, Josep, where the promise was made good on. Carolla followed Josep and Portize through countless battles, across vast distances, doing the good work, watching their backs, and filling holes in the ground. The team complimented itself nicely, and Josep never tried to get in Carolla's way...in fact he was most helpful to have around. Jokes often circulated amongst the hoardes they marched with that it was unclear which was the sorcerer's familiar, the imp or undead.

Re: Game of the Evils [Recuiting Players and a GM]
My character is a tank-like with good saves and a bad AC for now (AC 19 :S )
BUt it'll improve both his defending ability and his damage dealing capacity, also the ability to cast lots of buffs and use smites will be good at combat. He'll have a little helaing magic but don't expect Jamal to be a healer, since he's focused on war and destruction.
I was reading the previous posts and saw a paladin of tyranny somewhere. Is he in the game too? If yes, he could be a friend or companion of Jamal (since I'm a cleric of the god of Tyranny), so let me know.

He was the OP, and he's finishing up his sheet.

Re: Game of the Evils [Recuiting Players and a GM]
So it has been a hectic day here at work. finally got some down time I think tomorrow is going to be worse. But we will see.
Fleshgrinding after throwing is a yes but if you do it and miss it will still grind into whatever it hits.
Also new interest is closed. I am willing to play with all who have expressed interest as of now. It might be a little bit more than I wanted but that is fine. When do you want to game start? Thursday, Friday?
Of course there will be more than fey since you will also be interacting with the mortal realm.

I'm right here. I'm alive just slowly getting character done. (equipment, spells, and fluff is all I got left) I'm just a busy highschool senior, so I'm a little slower this year at getting characters built.
Sure I'm up for working out a back story. I'm more of the AC tank. saves are so so right now. But will get better as we level up.
Linky link for Richard Sheildhand (name may change) (character almost complete)
My backstory ideas (just ideas for me they can be changed
Spoiler
Arena fighter who decided it was time to serve his god in greater things than the petty glory of the ring, though it braught him much wealth and fame. Maybe you can be the one who pressuaded me to move on with my life and pass on the title to another (younger) fighter.
Or something like that. I suck at backstories

Re: Game of the Evils [Recuiting Players and a GM]
Sumaiel, still buying gear and writing the backstory.
I'm figuring I need to create a new deity or worship a concept. Basically he/she (haven't decided a gender/sex) is devoted to trickery and misery, basically just being cruel to mortals. Almost the epitome of an unseelie fey.
Re: Game of the Evils [Recruitment CLOSED, GM FOUND]
Have your deity be Queen Mab (Queen of air and darkness) It would work really well. If you are curious I am going to be using a lot of the Dresden files for the Fey. They have been my favorite version of Fey I have read so far. Neither court is Good but the Seelie are the lesser of two evils. The courts of course are perfect opposites.
People without direct connection will have their reasons for working with the fey. If anyone needs any help with background I am more than willing to help.
Re: Game of the Evils [Recruitment CLOSED, GM FOUND]
@Powergamer
Spoiler
I think the idea of you being a former gladiator is interesting and the idea of Jamal persuading you to help him in his holy quest is quite good too. I would add that Jamal himself taught the unholy path for SumaielRichard (my own name) and promised that, should he die in this quest, Hextor would send him to Hell where he would fight enemies for eternity: a perfect heaven for your character.
Jamal is ready and I think we could start tomorow or even tonight.

Re: Game of the Evils [Recruitment CLOSED, GM FOUND]
My background before meeting you is done already, posted in my first post.
Jamal's Full Background:
Spoiler
He's son of noble man from a kingdom who enjoyed slavery and tyranny, till his father and his kingdom were overrun by legions of knights of Heironeous, so he had to fled the kingdom, leaving lots of his beloved ones to die.
Jamal become a very devout and dedicated cleric of Hextor and he dreams in becoming his personal champion through war and tyranny. He's a muscled man past thirty with a great heavy flail and a dark spiked full plate who dedicateshimself to war and destruction, along with evil and law.
He traveled far and wide the continent looking for the anciant relic of his deity: the dreadful Gauntlets of the Bloodlord, but so far all hints he found about the location of this relic are obscure and not so much helping.
In the last place he visited, the gladiatorial city called the Thunder Shell, he found a renown gladiator who would be very useful as companion, and after buying his freedom he persuaded the gladiator Richard Shieldhands to help him in his unholy quest and taught him the way of Hextor, promising him an afterlife full of battle and bloodshed.
In his quest for his deity relic, he's looking for more villains and an army to help him overrun the kingdoms with destruction and exact revenge upon the church of Heironeous and, if he could, Heironeous itself.
