@Henry: I know, I know. But think about this, he is not just any human you might run across the universe. Carlyle a valuable asset of the great Castle Xanatov and thus a part of Her Ladyship's own personal fortune. Killing Carlyle can be interpreted as literally shooting at her ship. That is my strongest shield, aside from my faith.
Besides, aside from a round one "shoot first, ask questions later" situation, that could just as well kill any of us for that matter, the Astropath has his own assets, like Delude and Terrify.
As a last resource, Master Blackthrone can always push a power for the sole purpose of perils of the warp and incur great vengeance upon his wrong-doers, sometimes even after critical damage.

Well, all psykers are, to some interpretation, mutants. But again, not by the book.

Oh, and I forgot to ask, was there any change in your perception of feral troops, Maugan? I'd like to know for future reference, since if the ruling stands that armament is dependent on homeworld, it makes every choice but modern untenable.

I know that some Feral worlders have the capacity to learn proper firearms, but the vast bulk of them don't, and there really wouldn't be a bunch of Feral World mercenaries hanging out on Footfall. They are, after all, Feral.
(Catachan is a Death World, not a Feral world. Significant difference.)
That said. Anyone want to do anything else here, or would you like to depart for Damaris?

I think Winthrow might want to do a focused augury before we set out, but once we have some closure in the IC thread, I personally am all for heading out now. Perhaps we'll encounter a freighter being assaulted by orks and swoop in for the rescue -- and perhaps a little 'and now you belong to me' thereafter!

I was going to attempt to scan the other vessels for a chance to gain allies, but in the interest of brevity we could simplify it by saying that our efforts failed to provide any useful intelligence.
I realized too late that I had not picked any skill suitable for scan so Victris currently is a scan officer that cannot properly operate his equipment. hoping to correct this as soon as possible.
Up to Maug if you can. Considering it hasn't had any impact on the game so far, and that you hadn't realized, I hope he'll be willing to let you switch it around.

Hopefully. I have to sleep now in any case. If we go for trying to find allies the RP should take us a minimum of another day, I'm not sure it's worth it. Simplest explanation is to sum it up as "Victris's efforts with the augurs ultimately proved unsuccesful."
Humm, though mid-week huh?
Let me give something that you guys can argue about and talk.
I have been playing this. The battlecruiser is displaying marvelously.

Right? Dawn of War is sort of fun (if not for the overwhelming Space Marine influence), and the resource system was interesting. The population caps were a little low, but it was supposed to emulate the tabletop so that makes sense. But a Battlefleet Gothic game would be -- incoming pun -- stellar.

Right, there we go. Sorry for the delay - it's been a pain in the arse of a week. I decided to move things along a bit to compensate. Welcome to Damaris.

And if they let you play Chaos, it'd be heretically good.

Hey dawg, I heard you play dawn of war? So I have here a mod to get you closer to codex so you can tabletop while you play atop a table. EDIT: Found a trailer.
The mod is very good, includes stuff like other aspect warriors for eldar, different disciplines for IG, SM and CSM, awesome-looking gear for SM and CSM and best of all yet: The rules are those of the tabletop.
There are still some bugs, like killa kans and deff dreadz having double armor for some reason (really, its beyond comical, they DONT DIE), but its overall a sound game.
And here is the mod for Battlefleet Gothic for Forces of Corruption.

Oh look, our very first diplomatic incident. I feel so proud.
Seriously, when folks are expecting an invasion, rocking up in orbit with a Battlecruiser that has all it's weapons primed and ready to fire is really easy to misinterpret.

If no one else in orbit has their weapons prepared, I will board their ships and slaughter their crews for their incompetence. There are orks coming here. If you want to wait until they're within 20 VUs to start the weapon rituals to get ready for combat, then you do not deserve the planet which you seek to defend.
