Well, Deadly's here to help you get rid of them... with a vengeance! Create a new bookmark in your browser and copy the code below as the link/url of said bookmark. Name it something helpful, like "Spoilers B GONE!" or whatever. Then whenever you view a thread here on GitP you just hit the bookmark and BAM! no more spoilers.

You won't even see the boxes, just the bare innards in all their gory glory.

It also makes sure that no image is wider than 600px, to avoid stretching pages, and will attempt to "intelligently" remove repeated images except avatars. Neat, huh? Sadly that last part means stuff like pony emotes may get lost but the forum doesn't make it easy for me to single out images in quotes as I'd have liked... that's an open problem, I guess.

Tested in Firefox, Chrome and Opera. Should work in any modern browser, but you never know with these things.

Last Saturday's D&D game had the most amusing boss battle--
The PCs were transporting the "mcguffin girl" to another town when it started raining gators. And as the players started chasing off the gators, a pegasus arrived, riding a large mechanical dragon. Yup, first battle with the pegasus inventor "Lucky Dreams"

The mechanical dragon had claw and bite attacks. Lucky's main weapon was a cannon that shot nets. I am surprised how effective nets are in D&D!
Still, the PCs defeated the dragon easily enough, but Lucky flew away. Lives for a round two later. Heehee...

I find it amusing the PCs don't want to play in an MLP style RPG, but totally dig MLP encounters in D&D.

Agreed. Though he almost certainly would be executed.

Unlikely. Unicorns were recognized as being pure, good, entitys who used magic, so the soldiers wouldn't be given orders to shoot. Likely given orders to capture which wouldn't work well but they wouldn't try and kill her.

If there was a meeting the Princesses would likely impress the Spanish royals with their power and glory. However I don't think the Spanish have anything to offer the ponies so I don't imagine negotiations would go much further then don't bother us and we won't create hurricanes to cripple you.

The answer is obvious. Columbus and his crew take one look at the ponies and griffens, swear to never touch another drop of alcohol in their life and sail back home immediately. I know how these things work.

Maybe then the freaking Rum won't be gone.

Also, I never heard about Unicorns being able to use Magic. Just because something had healing properties doesn't mean it could use magic... then again, such stories have existed for longer than I have, so my knowledge is definitely lacking.

Still, I'm sure they'd be freaked out a bit by the teleport, and even more so by the talkng, so that theory can't be completely rulled out. Not to mention I doubt there'd be any virgins on the boat for them to have consiered the unicorn being to meet. I feel like it's a relatively safe bet for someone to yell out "IT'S SATAN!" or something like that, whatever they yelled out back then. Probably more sophistocated than the insults used today by people that don't understand something.

We have no idea how typical Gilda may be, but she did challenge Rainbow Dash - the fastest mare in the air - to wing races.

Also, they can rest on clouds. I know those are more common over land than ocean, but I daresay they could find something from time to time.

Anyways you've run this scenario a lot of ways here's the answer for most all of them.

Ponies are sentient beings of similar minds to humans. They are perhaps generally nicer but excepting maybe being herbivores they are don't have terribly bizarre ethics or incomprehensible alien turns of thought. Both species think in a lot of the same terms. Likewise humans while maybe less nice on average are often overstated in terms of bastardry.

If there's a difference it will be one of degrees. For most of human history you would have the Ponies in a position of strength given their tech and personal prowess that only the modern era reverses, so probably more like Europe and China then Europe and America. With the ponies being if anything the dominant party for some time, but with no real reason to take interest in distant Europe. Until tech reverses the trend, if it reverses the trend.

Even the implications of magic so huge for us now before the late 19th century or so (no earlier then the industrial revolution) they probably roll right off people of the past and become a simple fact of the world. The history of science as it likes to see itself is fairly recent, Issac Newton was an alchemist for example. Pegasi can fly, well so can birds somehow, for example.

No, it means we don't have actual magical trinkets. I'm sure people back then would have been annoyed at cartoon ponies too (at least some of them). But if ponies actually existed and were trading unique and powerful items with the rest of the world, I'm pretty sure that nobody would want to be left out of that, so they'd get involved in some way even if they didn't really like the ponies. Therefore a doctrine like "the entire race and everything they make are creatures of evil!" wouldn't last long in the face of its members missing out on the cool magical doodads.

If you don't mind me so saying, the only things I saw the ponies trading in show were mainly food ad potions... I don't see the "unique and powerful items" thing. And even so, it seems like there'd sooner be a war to claim the items rather than just a trade, if you ask the pessimist in me anyway.

Plus, talking horses. Even if they didn't look MLP Style, we hardly accepted each other with different color skin; ponies not only have different color skin, but are also horses.

Humanity as a whole has not become any less stupid in the last ten thousand years, even if it has become better educated...

Totally not pony related, but I just wanted to gawp, as Obsidian's kickstarter for Project Eternity (i.e. a new BG/Torment-style isometric party RPG) just concluded, a hair short of $4 million dollars ($3.986 million). Particularly impressive since the last million dollars or so came in the last four days, half of that in the last day! I have - for once - very high hopes for Eternity.

Humans would lose a war against ponies really really badly back then. Weather control and shielding spells = win. Actually just weather control. We would struggle to counter that with modern tech, back then we wouldn't have a chance. Unicorn magic is just adding insult to injury.

He is awesome, though if he hadn't had Q as a voice actor, he might not have been paid so much attention.

It makes it a non-issue really. I can't see the ponies being merciless to their enemies and humanity would learn the lesson fast. From there the humans would likely adopt more ponylike ideals and overall society would improve faster.
