History

The underdogs of this season, the Iron Giants have no professional experience whatsoever.

They started in a small and obscure town as a Blood Bowl club. From a fan club, it slowly transformed into an amateur Blood Bowl team, complete with a grizzled coach, John Smith.

Slowly but surely, they rose through the ranks, easily dominating the amateur scene in their district.

Then one of the players had a bright idea, "Why not try for the cup?" Everyone jumped on the bandwagon to much protestation from John Smith.

So here they stand, ready to take part in the first game of the season.

IIRC, they're normal player cost + 40,000, then a further cost for any extra skills you want to give them (check the rulebook for full details). Against MKB you won't be able to afford one in any case given the inducement money at stake: you're probably better saving your treasury and buying a permanent blitzer next week.

That's a pretty intimidating star player lineup. Hiring Helmut Wulf shows an alarming lack of faith in the sisterhood from Die Valkyrie, though.

Rowe Oulle (#7) will take Block.

Once again the catchers are expected to do their best to carry the game to Die Valkyrie. Hopefully the line of scrimmage can stand up against the chainsaw onslaught without special training.

You can use treasury reserves to supplement the inducement cash so you have enough to buy something. IMO it's not usually worth doing except in critical matches, although in this case you'd only need to shell out 10,000 or so.

No bets this week. I was tempted by the Quest, until I remembered their treeman is absent.
