LoL, yeah, that's the word I was looking for. Anyone ever had a weird day where they forgot how to spell "of" or "when/where/why/who/what" cause they are spelled kinda weird and you're just having a brain f- ... ?
Many times.

Yeah, seems like a good result.

Errrr... 50 gp? That's getting kind of steep isn't it?
Oh well, I was never very good with figuring out what lackeys were for since I like to do things myself.

Some of these guys are probably certified thief player class skill level if they've actually had any success in their line of work. They'd be right along side us, but that sounds really unsafe to me personally. Imagine what they might skim off the top leaving the rest of us unknowing...
But still, we can't much afford them. I think it'd be a waste of money, mostly.
We should finish more officially dividing up the rest of the loot soon, shouldn't we? I just remembered there's a few things that haven't ended up transfered from party loot to character sheets yet.
Dagger (Magic) for Mycah? (one or two /3)
Magic Slingshot for Alanna, I think we'd agreed.
Then there's the potions and holy water flasks.
Nathros or Brandon could have the strengthen/heroism potion... probably Nathros cause he already has a wicked bonus to damage and to hit. It'd be good for a boss fight.
And Nathros supposedly still is holding that 86g he looted in the caves.
Plus we've got 231g 5s possibly party loot, unless there's someone who hasn't got their cut yet.
Maybe our characters could handle that in the morning.
Though it's changed over the centuries, originally thee/thou/etc. was the less formal way of speaking and "you" was really the formal way.
Crazy/interesting, hey?
(Ugh, that "hey" was so Canadian. )

Yep interesting indeed. Now I can really make my Elf unlikable!

Well, well... it looks like I hit someone's funny bone. *cough* MMM *cough*
Oh and Brandon, please forgive the deliberate misunderstanding of tights. I just couldn't resist putting that response in.

Ummm Roland, I just noticed that all the links for the characters in the current OoC, except for the PC on haitus, all link to Brandon's character sheet.
I know that this isn't a big problem since we can just scroll down and find them. But for ease of access it was confusing at first.
Just a heads up.

This is just a heads-up that I might miss a day here and there. We're getting to that bit in practicing for our school musical where we're having six-hour rehearsals -- and my school wi-fi has GitP blocked. I should be more free after we close on the 19th. Then, of course, December will happen and the madrigals will have a performance basically every day. TT1 knows what I'm talking about.

I've fixed it now.

Okay, thanks for the heads up.

Next week our middle school show (with my younger daughter) rolls into full run-throughs and dress rehearsals for the the big night (Nov 16-17). They're doing Guys & Dolls. I do set design/construction every year. Did Annie, Disney's Mulan and Alice in Wonderland before this one.
The high school show starts up right after New Years. My older daughter is going to audition for that one. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer this year. A light-hearted break after doing Les Miserables, Phantom of the Opera and Aida the last three years. I do set construction through the spring from that show too. Busy, busy, busy...
By the way, I just re-found this thread. I knew Roland made it, then forgot to link it anywhere, or subscribe to it. I was wondering why I never saw any OOC posts the last week or so. Dummy.

Ah it's alright Mycah, we all make little mistakes like that.
P.S. I can really only refer to people by their stage names/character names right off the bat. So... sorry if I keep forgetting/don't use your username!

1. We're doing "Curtains," which is very fun, but more racy than the other two musicals I've done with the high school ("Hairspray" and "West Side Story").
2. I know what you mean, Hatami… er, TT1!

Well have fun! Meanwhile I'm in Savior Of The World and we are performing November through December. However, I will still be able to post but it will be at a slightly slower pace.
Although I get the feeling that that might help to keep me from being accused of spamming.
P.S. You guys using live animals again? If so, will they be cooked rare, medium, or extra-crispy? Yes, I know that you're alluding to 'Don't Drink the Water'

Hm does anyone know if there are messenger birds? I don't know if Artanis' master would get it but it's worth a shot.
But if that doesn't work out, he could go to that library Talsarios was at.

You'd have to have brought a bird from the location you wish it to return to.
Otherwise, you have to send someone and a bird with a message all the way to your master, then your master could just attatch a note and the bird would fly back.
In AD&D (Advanced Dungeons and Dragons) a homing pigeon costs 100sp.
That said, I still don't know if they're in Roland's/Karameikos' setting.
Aww, I didn't think it'd be a SHIP we'd be losing for the Guild to get their hideout... Rats.
Also, I don't want to forget... Ash needs to definitely talk to her uncle and/or the authorities before this happens. They might know a thing or two about the River Rose like who owns it and what not. Though, there'd be a problem with the loot being divided according to plan if authorities got involved with the attack.
It's good to be smart with these kinds of things.
DM call needed!
How wide is the river - can either Magic Missile (150' range) or Sleep (240' range) hit the ship reliably from the bank?
By the map in my old Expert set, the river is 1000 yards wide at its widest, but is just 300 yards wide on either side of the little island in the river.
Is this map correct? And if it is, is our target ship close enough to the docks or bank to hit with those spells - bearing in mind that in this version of D&D ranges for spells and ranged weapons translate to yard when outdoors! (Just in case the less old school players thought I'd gone crazy there.)
The ship is anchored in the river a bit south of the dock area, which takes up much of the south/central shoreline. It is in range of Sleep. Magic missile would be close from either the shoreline or Fogor Isle.

Assuming Nathros did not with hold the 86g he looted and pocketed that one time, here's what I propose we do with our treasure, so that who carries it all is accounted for. If we have things we need to leave somewhere safe while we do our boating trip, I think our characters should just leave them in a secure room at Bost's manor.
Mycah : Holy Water x2, magic daggers x3 (we have lots, he can throw one maybe, who else can use/would want them?), 45g7c.
Nathros : Potion of Strength/Heroism, 45g7c.
Brandon : Healing Potion, 45g7c.
Talsarios : Potion of Control Undead, 45g7c.
Alanna : Holy Water x1, Magic Slingshot, 45g7c.
Artanis : Holy Water x1, 45g7c.
Ash : 45g7c.
Remainder of 1 copper (if there is such a thing, I forget), and a sack of dried juniper berries.
That 231g is assumed to be undivided of group loot, but if that was to belong to somebody, then we shouldn't all be splitting it, but it should be accounted for properly then.
---
Also, Roland, what kind of ship would you discribe the Fangs' vessel to be? A caravel style perhaps?

A small caravel would be a decent description. Two shortish masts, small quarterdeck, and no forecastle, and likely a small draft (only one lower deck) to make it more river-worthy.

Alright, thanks. That helps a lot to picture it better. Should be slightly easier than I originally thought to get the Fangs grouped up for the sleep spell.
I will update the treasure list accordingly, just tell me when you take the stuff... assuming we're following Ash's plan of distribution. I'll update it to show that I have taken my 'share' as it were.
P.S. does this gold count for XP?

Nathros would want one, as daggers are excellent back up weapons; I am not sure what the grappling rules are like in BECMI, but in AD&D you would be mad not to be carrying a dagger.
