IC - The Floors, 1 floor per sheet - Also, don't forget that there's a chat on the far right of the sheet, if you see "# other viewers".
Well, here's the OOC thread. For the sake of keeping the original post, here it is spoilered.
Spoiler
Arugal is a metropolis built near The Cavern. Adventurers from all over come to test their merit in The Cavern, so Arugal has become a center of trade. At its center is a pure white stand which is though to be part of the dungeon; that area is called The Beacon.
Nobody has been able to come out of The Cavern, seeing as it actually traps anyone who enters. There are rumors about some sort of portal that can take people to and from The Cavern, but nobody knows if it's true at this point. When you first approach the Cavern, its entrance is just a purple blob. But when you touch it, it sucks you right in, never letting you out again as far as people know.
If you have any questions about this two places, just ask.
Big 16:
Spoiler
1. What game system are you running (D&D, Call of Cthulu, Palladium, GURPS, etc.), and if applicable what edition (Original, Classic, Revised, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 10th, etc.)?
* D&D 3.5e
2. What 'type' or variant of game will it be (i.e. "Shadow Chasers" or "Agents of Psi" for d20 Modern)? What is the setting for the game (eg. historic period, published or homebrewed campaign setting, alternate reality, modern world, etc.)?
* Homebrew campaign world. The Cavern for the most part.
3. How many Players are you looking for? Will you be taking alternates, and if so, how many?
* 3-6 players, with 2 alternates
4. What's the gaming medium (OOTS, chat, e-mail etc.)?
* OOTS
5. What is the characters' starting status (i.e. experience level)?
* Level 1
6. How much gold or other starting funds will the characters begin with?
* Standard roll or average, whichever is higher.
7. Are there any particular character classes, professions, orders, etc. that you want... or do not want? What are your rules on 'prestige' and/or homebrewed classes?
* Other than the SRD classes, you must ask for them.
* Prestige classes are fine, if it makes sense.
* Homebrew classes are on a case by case basis.
8. What races, subraces, species, etc. are allowed for your game? Will you allow homebrewed races or species? 'Prestige' races or species?
* I'd rather you stick to the SRD races, but ask for any others; I might allow them.
9. By what method should Players generate their attributes/ability scores and Hit Points?
* 5d6b3 or 30 point buy, choose after you see the rolls.
* Health is max at first and then roll or average, whichever is better. Average health is rounded down (2 for d4, 3 for d6, 4 for d8, 5 for d10, 6 for d12)
10. Does your game use alignment? What are your restrictions, if so?
* Anything that works with the group.
11. Do you allow multi-classing, or have any particular rules in regards to it?
* Everyone's first class doesn't count for multiclassing.
12. Will you be doing all of the die rolling during the course of the game? Will die rolls be altered, or left to the honor system? If players can make die rolls, which ones do they make, how should they make the rolls, and how should they report them?
* Normal. Roll on the board. I'll roll just as you do.
13. Are there any homebrewed or optional/variant rules that your Players should know about? If so, list and explain them, or provide relevant links to learn about these new rules.
* Some, but I can't remember them.
14. Is a character background required? If so, how big? Are you looking for anything in particular (i.e. the backgrounds all ending up with the characters in the same city)?
* Look at the Other section.
15. Does your game involve a lot of hack & slash, puzzle solving, roleplaying, or a combination of the above?
* I will be trying to give a combination, but fighting will be what happens most.
16. Are your Players restricted to particular rulebooks and supplements, or will you be allowing access to non-standard material? What sources can Players use for their characters?
* Everything except Dragon Mag is potentially allowed. Anything not in the SRD must be asked for.
Other:
Spoiler
* 1 or 2 fears your character has, if there's a reason or its irrational, and what happens when he faces the fear. It doesn't need to be a major fear, just something simple works. It can be as common as getting hit to as rare as ghosts.
* In regards to backgrounds. While unneeded, they help.
* Include a personality, this is important.
* 1 or more goals. Things your character wants to accomplish. This can simply be why he/she's going into the Cavern, but this goal has to be included.
* Might come up with more as the day goes by, unsure.
* If you have a list of things you want to ask for, you can ask here or add me on Skype (Linguz1) and I'll answer.

I'm looking for players that can post at least once a day, preferably more.
Everyone that's in, please pick a color. I pick bold to be the color of every NPC out there, with a certain format so you know who's talking. An example:
"[Barkeep] You want a mug of ale?"
Either the character's symbol will be shown or the character's full name (be it a true name or a title).
Stepping out of the shadows for just a brief moment, the black-scaled, dark clothed kobold quickly grabs an ale, just to disappear into the croud a second later.
We'll go with SeaGreen. Should work for a reptilian guy with black dragon heritage (a cup of swampwater anyone?)

Got it and got it. Added a color column to the table and put in them. By the way, thank you for not sticking with lime.
And since I edited the post when I remembered the chat function of Gdocs:
There is a chatting function with Gdocs. It is accessed by clicking on a button that shows when there are other viewers. Here's an image in a spoiler showing the button:

You will all show up as anonymous because it's how it works. I will show up as Linguz2.
Yeah, lime would've been a tiny bit brutal I thought about bolded SeaGreen, since it's on the lighter side of colours and might be hard to read, but I'll just go with that for now and add the bolded if needed.
Also, chat don't want to work for me. Might be because I upload a rather big bunch of videos at the moment and everything seems to be hit by a slow spell ;) (And the pic doesn't work for me :/)
As long as we aren't in a hurry, Ipsen will scout ahead, explore new tunnels/rooms/caverns/etc, search for traps and then come back to get the rest of the party (and hide behind the guys with big swords and armor).
If he has to take the lead (for example, if you guys don't want to wait until that bloody kobold is done with his stuff), he'll try stay ahead of the group, because he'll be harder to spot if he's alone (no light, no noisy guys in heavy armor, etc.). He won't like being in front, but what can you do ;)
Tyrick fumbles with his coins to try to purchase an ale, dropping them as he does so. After spending a good deal of time trying to pick them up, and accidentally reaching under a woman's skirt to grab the last one, he finally returns to the barkeep and pays for his ale.
He stumbles through the crowd on his way back to the table, spilling some ale along the way saying "Excuse me, so sorry, please forgive me" as he knocks into various patrons.
His words came off as a rather Sienna type of speech he thought, whatever that meant? He shrugged.

"Barkeep, do you have any olives?" Var hadn't eaten olives in an age it seemed. There used to be olive trees in the commune where he grew up, Also some water please. Then he turns to look at the occupants of the bar. Why did I come to a bar? he thought to himself, I don't drink.
What's the purple square on your map? I assume it's the entrance but it never hurts to ask questions with obvious answers just in case the obvious answer is the wrong one.
I'm going to be in a rural area for the next 2 days... I should be able to get on the forum from my phone, but I'm sure that the map & character sheet won't be accessible. Since I'm the last one to post have posted IC I'm thinking this won't be a big problem...
By the way, sorry for not updating more often. I'm going to start bringing the map to school with me, seeing as I apparently have more than enough time here. A question:
Do you want me to roll initiative for everyone or just for enemies and you roll the initiative yourself? And what about saving throws?
I'm running a game now and one thing I've noticed is that players like to have control of their characters in combat but aren't much bothered outside of it. So I'd like to roll my own initiative and saves but obviously if I don't know I need to make a save then not knowing or rolling makes no difference.
The same goes for skill checks. If we all need to roll a spot check then it's probably better to set up a Dice Roller thread and roll on that (so you can show us if there is an argument) and then tell us the result but if a character announces that they are going to search then we should obviously roll for the character IC.
In addition I've also found from the Voldur game that waiting for initiative order can cause incredible delays. It's better to announce the start of a round, summarise the last round and have everyone declare their actions as they return to the forum. The DM then puts these actions in order and adds NPC actions at the end.
For example in my Isle of the Small Folk game this was an announcement of a new round:
Quote:
Round 3 Summary
The halflings close to melee range hurling their spears as they go.
Devka drew close but the stupid crab was distracted as the last moment. If you like you can move to follow him.
Graorin shot across the sands to join the battle with the horse, Val, running beside him.
Athedru revelled in his successful shot but was unable to repeat it.
Old Claws has taken 10 damage. It appears unfazed by its wounds.
Round 4
All three spearmen are engaged in fierce combat with the giant crab, jabbing and shouting at it. In return Old Claws is waving it's massive pincers about trying to grab the small creatures and crush them to death.
I'd like to roll my own initiative and saves but obviously if I don't know I need to make a save then not knowing or rolling makes no difference.
The same goes for skill checks. If we all need to roll a spot check then it's probably better to set up a Dice Roller thread and roll on that (so you can show us if there is an argument) and then tell us the result but if a character announces that they are going to search then we should obviously roll for the character IC.
This. Especially for spot/listen checks it always made sense for me that the DM makes the roll in secret, so you won't know that you missed a spot check. Or at least not until you eat 12 attacks from the shadowhydra that just ambushed you
I kinda like the idea of everyone taking actions and the DM sorts out the order, since it'll speed up everything - but in some situations, it will be important to know what happened before you take your actions. If Freddy McFighter just died to the AoO of an invisible foe, it might change the whole strategy for the battle, etc.
As I said in the first post of the recruiting thread, I will be rolling in the game with you (for most of the rolls). To speed things up, I'll also be rolling initiatives, but it'll be plain to see. . Everyone will take actions which can include If clauses, then I'll summarize what happens. As an example...
"George attacks the goblin in front of him, unless the goblin attacks and incapacitates John. If that is the case, George casts Cure Light Wounds on John."
The format you do it in does not matter, as long as it's plain to see.
Try upgrading to a browser that doesn't come with every windows system. Chrome is my preferred choice. I remember that they dropped service to a certain IE version and below.
