"Just stand behind big sister Wylia and she'll make sure everything is okay."
Wylia is marked with the blue hair and eyes that are her birthright as a pure blooded Azurite. Despite this, she refuses to hide her heritage, and keeps her hair fairly long for a soldier, as it nearly falls past her shoulders. As she isn't really a soldier by choice, she has no helmet and has to make due with whatever she can find to tie back her hair as a result. She usually uses some sort of headband or string.
A pure blooded Azurite by birth, Wylia has had the misfortune of growing up in an orphanage located in Emnor. She knows little of her parents or family, other than that she was found abandoned in a city as an infant after an attack by Emnor forces pushed the Azurite army back. An orphanage for children separated from their parents during the war took her in despite her heritage.
Her childhood was a mixed bag of good and bad. While the caretakers at the orphanage were very kind and supportive of her, regardless of her blood, the people of the city were very harsh on her, thanks to her appearance. And while some of the orphans didn't care, as she grew older many of them joined the townsfolk in harassing her. Still, she had a few good friends and the caretakers were like family, so Wylia received the support she needed to grow up well.
Still, the city was not a safe place. Thanks to its unfortunate location on Crown, it was often attacked by Azurite forces, who would sometimes manage to breach the city defenses and slaughter civilians indiscriminately. While the city was never lost since it was taken back by Emnor initially, it certainly grew smaller as people died or moved away to flee the war. The orphans had nowhere to go though, so the orphanage stayed, and as she came of age, Wylia took up a spear and began protecting them as well. She had nowhere to go, and they were like family.
But naturally, a pure blooded Azurite girl in armor with a spear would be seen as an Azurite soldier, so Wylia was forced to keep herself inside the orphanage during attacks. It was like being stuck between a rock and a hard place, and Wylia had no doubt that some of the Emnor soldiers would destroy the entire orphanage if they knew it was hiding an 'Azurite soldier'. But if she left, there would be no one to ensure their safety.
Wylia is a courageous young woman with a big heart. She has devoted her life thus far to protecting the people who are like family to her, and she can't help but want to assist children in need, as she was one such girl once upon a time. Wylia's life has been pretty rough, and she has developed a bit of a stubborn streak and a thick skin to help her deal with the difficult treatment she received as a child.
Apologies for the double post. I have posted some information on some important NPCs. I need to write up two more clerical leaders (Light of the First, Humanism), but other than that I am nearly done on this aspect.
Herpestidae, I've decided to accept your naming and will edit it in next time.
Lastly with regard to royal court rumours I await Freigal's ideas before I start brainstorming stuff .
It is possible that I will be launching this this weekend.
Awesome FE sprites done by Penguinator
Huh, I always could have sworn Water_and_Wind was male, but played female characters like me. But I can't seem to find anything that confirms my viewpoint.
Eh, either way.
I believe it was established in the sprite request thread, but I could be wrong. Usershadow, when around, however, has always played females. (Think it like Fe-mal-es, like tamales, and that last sentence in a Groucho Marx accent. Why I did, I never will know.)
