Makes it final, no flaws. I don't mind if the characters take one, puts the feat progression more in line with Pthfinder. I've always hated how lean on feats you get when trying to take some PrCs, even lower powered ones you would take if it wasnt for the horrible feat tax. But, I also hate how some people take certain feats and stack certain abilities which can get pretty crazy.
No Flaws it is.
How about you can take one if you want but you have to approve? I'm neutral on the subject; I just like leaving it open.
The charmed Orc is more than happy to share what he knows, "Plan yes, but Hooded One tell Big Leader to wait...wait till Shiny Shields from big city leave."
Uh-oh. What are the orcs planning? More importantly, how did they know?
That's at least conditional good news. It means that if we can keep the soldiers there, Linwood's out of danger.
But I think you're right that the Hooded One is planning something, like an attack against Hulburg so bad that the soldiers will get called back. I really do wish we could turn the tables on him.
They could know from parties watching the city or possibly from scrying (I'm sure it's within the hooded guy's capability).

Well, thanks to OOC knowledge we know that 5th level spells are beyond him.
It's only a dozen soldiers, so they may not want for much...
Damn, how do we turn this around?
In any case, I'll...Probably be crying in an hour and a half when I get my orgo exam back. But I'll try to think of something! I don't think we can rely on ogres anymore.
The longer it takes them to attack, the more time there is to prepare the village. Even if the soldiers leave, the extra time might make all the difference, even if we end up blushing for a while.
I had the other day, 4 attacks and rolled Crit confirms on all 4. My highest roll... an 8 out of 8 rolls.
Happens to everyone, look at Shiny's charming against th Ogres.
I know, it's still annoying. Damn, why must I go through 6 levels of Rogue where my only perk is 4 extra skill points (I already get Sneak Attack progression through Daring Outlaw) for Skill Mastery?

You only need 4 levels for evasion. Then 3 levels of Swashbuckler. Where are you getting 6 levels from?
I don't get Skill Mastery until my 10th Rogue level.
If you feel that the extra six levels of rogue is worth it, go for it. I'd rather take improved evasion at level ten, or Slippery Mind, or Opportunist, or crippling strike. Basically, Skill Master is the last one Id take. And aid probably go for prestige classes instead.
Could always pick up Wizardry and go Arcane Trickster....
4 Levels Rogue, 3 levels Swashbuckler, 5 Levels Wizard, 8 Levels Arcane a trickster. Casting 7th level spells at Caster Level 13(17 with Practiced Spellcaster). Think of all the buffs...making yourself invisible, silence, etc...

Well, I have several levels to think about it. And I'd got for Skill Mastery because then I wouldn't have to worry about failing those checks anymore. Improved Evasion...I think at that point my reflex save is going to be sky-high anyway.
And eh, that's too many classes. Rogue/Swashbuckler/One of the two trapsmith prestige classes is enough.

Well, your Reflex save may get high, but you can always fail.
See edit to last post for a proposed build, though it wonder fit your ideas. But you could then make magical traps yourself. And with the right spells you'd be lethal in combat, plus almost undetectable.

That's the problem; it wouldn't fit her concept. Natalia wasn't allowed near a spellbook no matter how much she wanted to learn magic because everyone was terrified of Nuts with magic. So instead Natalia turned to traps and machines and found her calling there. She doesn't just want to make traps; she's like a proto-mechanical engineer.

She has access to a spellbook and a teacher now... You don't need the Trapsmith prestige class to be a Trapsmith, and don't forget the wealth of skill points Natalia will always have enou skill points for craft and knowledges due to being human and an 18 Int.

And this way she also has an excuse to stick around Mithril, who will provide the magic for the traps?

And Naralia bei an inquisitive investigator will want to know how the Magic works, she'll start diagramming it, writing basic equations, until she thinks she can do it herself. It will be a tool for the gorl that wasnt allowed to tough such things. A Magicanical Engineer. Then she'll be able to creat the best traps, without anyone else.
It would also kill her sneak attack progression. That too, Athedia.
Not really, my proposed build still has 8d6 total sneak attack by lvl20. Plus with her spells, she'd be sneak attacking more, hitting more, and ultimately more versatile. Plus, I'm pretty sure Trapsmith kills your sneak attack too. So no total loss.
Actually, with Trapsmith 3 I only lose 1d6 sneak attack. And if I go arcane trickster I'm losing a lot of BaB too. I think you can go Roguebuckler or Arcane Trickster, but not both.

How about the spell Wraithstrike? Or eventually transformation? Grease? Ect... Or any if the other crazy buffs that will make your lost BAB seem pretty insignificant. Having a handful of spells available to guarantee critical strikes?
Your total BAB would be +12, only losing three BAB off of Straight Rogue, and +4 off of your proposed build.
It may not be an autowin, but for the investment you can do what a "rogue buckler" and "arcane trickster" do, just not quite as well as either, but you have a huge amount of flexibility. If you are talking about combat prowess, I have no doubt that build will beat out Trapsmith in offense, defense, and versatility.
The real question is would you like your character to go that route, would you enjoy RPing it? If not, don't do it. If so, it is still an effective build to consider. Remember, I'm not trying to force you into a build at all, just expressing something I thought would be an interesting avenue for Natalia. She certainly has the Int for it!
