Linwood is safe as long as the soldiers are there. We do have a deadline, but it could be a way to save them- remember the story about the staff killing orcs

That's my opinion, too. Giving them something to worry about from behind is probably even more of an advantage than us being in the town. And checking out the cave!
But how long would it take to explore the caves? And if we're fighting a crapton of orcs, then we've got to be at full strength after leaving the caves--that's two eight-hour rest cycles there.
I think we delve into the cave as far as we can in a day, then go back to Linwood. If the soldiers are leaving (because of some hooded machinations) we stay to defend.
No matter what, cave delving will get us XP, and is Natalia's only chance to disarm traps! (she might even get to disable and use them later)
I say we put it to a vote. I propose that Zman not vote since he knows too much
I really don't think we can get much farther into the cave today; we're out of rages and nearly out of spells. And I do not want to do two rest cycles; that's too much time.
It is- we're hoping he has other weapons like it (the implication is that he's a powerful artificer who builds things that kill orcs).
Not specifically to kill Orcs, merely hat it was used for such a purpose and basically overkill.

Only one way to find out, by exploring.

Personally I'm in favour of it, but it's up to the rest of the group.
Remember, they opted to not attack th town due to the Hulberg soldiers, that has not changed and they have been weakened further.

You will never always be at full strength. A rule of thumb is be prepared for three encounters a day. Fact is, we can be at full health with some spells and consumable left. We are in good shape relatively speaking.

Remember, Linwood is 1.5 days away. No a half day.
The soldiers will do what they're ordered to, completely independent of anything we request. Also we can't go all the way down the cave, but I think it is a good idea to go further. We want to be away from the entrance, I think. Like Z-Man said, we're not that badly off, even if we are low on spells. We probably can't do the whole thing, but we could do some of it.
*Sigh* Ugh, and now I've got to gamble with the UMD. Somebody get Natalia something to boost her Charisma, fast.
Seriously, why are you freaking ou over this?! You will successfully activate the wand 40% of the time. So what, you might waste a couple of charges, not a big deal.
I know, it's just going to be an annoyance, especially if we're pressed for time. Besides, there's all sorts of roleplaying fun with a charisma-boosted Nuts.

Oh- shiny and Mithril should bring up the rear, since we're more limited in our utility right now and and are on the squishier side. Miriam needs to be ready to heal anyone in front who gets attacked, esp Natalia, and Valen and Kurt of course need to kill things.

How is NKMVSM for an order?

Valen will go wherever you want him, and I think Admirals suggested Order is pretty good.
