Explore the caves and go as deep as we can and gather as much info as we can and do as much damage as we can.
I like the way Miriam thinks. At least some of the cave will have torchlight. Orcs may have dark vision, but you cannot truly work without light. It's not like 60 Orcs will come running at the first sign of trouble.

Heh, that would be bad.
If we're exploring, then Henry should come with us, and scout ahead with Natalia. We could always use more people, after all. Especially someone who can track. Other than the +1 bow, what weapons does he have again? (you can just say "sword" or "dagger," I just want to know the weapon types).
And he has a job to do. He'd rather follow you guys into the caves and kill orcs, but he is actually taking his first quest serious.
I meant that Henry's not going to come with us and we want Henry to come with us and this won't go anywhere.
You know, just finding Henry and scouting out the orcs was our job too, right? Maybe he's got a point.
But killing the orcs isn't our primary goal, we just want to go in deeper and find out more...Unfortunately I'm not sure if Natalia's going to be able to get that across. Damn, she needs a charisma boost, and quickly.

Disagree. We want to kill as many orcs as we can .....
It's not a matter of if the orcs attack, but when. Even if every member of their race is not evil. They as a race are murderous and expansionists. The have already attacked and killed members of Linwood. This is a war for the survival of frontier towns.
I still really, really don't like the "Let's go kill em all!" attitude. I don't want to do it, if you press me I'm probably not going to do it, and to be honest I'm not going to like a game where there's no chance for diplomacy and the "good" thing by the "heroes" is going to be wholesale slaughter just because orcs have "Often Chaotic Evil" written on their page in the Monster Manual (the ogres are different; we're preventing people from becoming lunch).
Zman, just to be clear, this annoyance isn't directed at you.

combined the possibility that there are manipulated by an evil person. We got to send the message "Stay away from the good races settlements"

We tried diplomacy with the orcs. We got spit out and our mothers called names worse than imaginable.
Those were attacking orcs, now we're going into their homes. We're going into their homes with the intention of killing everyone and I'm extremely uncomfortable with that idea.
Natalia and I are on the same page--I'm not doing this. She's not going in for the explicit purpose of marching into someone's town and killing everyone when they're not about to attack. If it's defense, that's something else, but they're not attacking! You're going into someone's home, there's going to be civilians there. This does not sit right with me.
They are attacking, they have been performing lethal raids with the express purpose or eradicating the humans in this area, ie attempting to starve them, attempting to destroy their main source of income, and finally simple killing. It is war.
Diplomacy has failed here already. The orcs do not want peace, they want the humans dead and gone, and that is before you factor in the possibly of them being manipulated into it.
I still really don't like the idea of complete slaughter. It makes us no better than them and you're not just killing fighters, but civilians. Elderly, women, children, they're not going to fight. Natalia wants the threat neutralized too but she doesn't want to take part in a massacre. And I don't want to either. The manipulation probably makes it worse.

Who has said anything about killing noncombatants? No one that I am aware of. Where did you get that idea?

If we're walking into a village and attacking, it's all but a certainty.
Like I said, I'm not mad at you, I'm mad at the system. Look, Zman, I don't find the idea of "Just kill them all and let the gods sort them out!" fun. At all, for most of the same reasons that the Giant wrote Start of Darkness in the first place. In the future, can we please have more options available besides, "They're evil, kill 'em all!"
I think one of Natalia's goals now, in addition to her machines, is finding--or making--a place that's the opposite of Hillsfar, where anyone can live as long as they don't cause trouble.
I don't believe Natalia is staying true to character, or at least true to how she has been played to date.
She has taken pleasure in killing.
Her preferred method of killing revolves around striking opponents when they cannot defend themselves in the most lethal of spots. She dislikes a fair fight.
She is very keen to cause the most damage as possible with traps, which by nature do not discriminate between fighters and nonfighters.
She has used some pretty vile threats.
She has shown no such mercy for the choker, an intellignt creature who's home was invaded and was defending itself and was wholesale slaughtered and turned into calamari.
It's an odd time for Natalia to develop such a consciounce especially for a race of murdering rapists and thieves. Granted not all orcs are evil, but it is in their base nature to be. It is the exceptions which are non evil, not the norm.

I'll be honest, a lot of this is me just really, really not liking this particular idea--if they were attacking that would be a bit different.
But Natalia's never really liked it--particularly when it's humanoids.
Like I said, I'll be back in a few hours. I'm sorry about this. I just...I really don't like this part of the alignment system.
I have to point out that Mithril doesn't want to go into the caves for two reasons. She is uncomfortable with killing and even though she has she is dislikes that fact in herself. Also she wants to avoid caves like crazy. She knows logically that there will not be another choker, but the memory is still very fresh and instinct wins over logic.
