Notes on Ring of Sending:

This magic item consists of a ruby (into which the spell is infused) set in a rotary setting on a gold ring. You activate the ring (a swift action) by rotating it half a turn to the right, from “off” to “transmit home” (this setting causes it to automatically send to a certain room in the capital) or half a turn to the left (which allows you to specify the target like a regular Sending). The ruby will flash a couple of times, then start glowing brightly. After it starts glowing, the next 25 words the wearer speaks will be the ones recorded and Sent. The ring’s own power is only usable once per day, but you can also use it to cast Sending by giving up any fifth-level sorcerer/wizard spell or fourth-level Cleric spell.

@hoverfrog: Yes, as a non-crown princess the Spymistress probably should be referred to as "Your Highness." This is only because she's the direct child of a king, though. Her own children would be dukes or duchesses, and addressed as "Your Grace."

Out of character, no.

In character Von Pinn is greedy and extremely sensitive of her place in the group. She sees herself as the most powerful and the one who deserves the most prestigious position and responsibility. Therefore she will loudly demand the honour of being the contact with the spymistress and take the ring. She views it as her right. If anyone takes it first or overrules her she will plot and mutter against this person, eventually building up to abandoning them to a messy death just at the point where they require her aid. Well, she is evil.

OOC no. I hope hoverfrog character's desires of murder can be contained within the game. BTW, have we been working together for long?

IC if the ring is a delicate piece of jewelry Flowdy will think that nobody can appreciate the ring as much as him. But will not fight for it. Although if someone shows sudden interest and insists in using/owning it without giving a proper explanation Flowdy will be suspicious towards his intentions.

If we know each other for long and Flowdy knows how Von Pinn is, he will not hold a grudge of any kind against her for being as evil as always. But probably will make fun of it somehow. Like "You want to become our contant? Holy Gods, I preffer a homin pigeon! Much more reliable creatures."

It's not hard for me to imagine that a young-female-evil-cleric and an old-male-good-wizard will have that kind of party relationship.

Of course, only if hoverfrog agrees, It's hard to show the "it's just a joke" face over the internet.

Actually that sounds like fun. Obviously Von Pinn would dearly love to murder the soft hearted old fool who is always interfering with her plans and saying things that she doesn't really understand. If only he hadn't he's proven useful occasionally as a distraction or those rare times when he provides some little nugget of information that helps.

So, two good characters, ironically both arcane casters, a neutral character, and an evil character, ironically a divine caster. This should be interesting.

Marius doesn't really care who gets the ring, as long as the job gets done. He's more concerned about protecting the miners from whatever has them spooked than he is about getting the mines back in operation anyway, which might put him at odds with the Wulfenbach babysitter Von Pinn. He probably gets along well with Flowdy, and likely butts heads with Von Pinn regularly. Assuming they've been working together for any length of time.

I'd say that Flowdy, Von Pinn, and Marius have probably trained together and completed a few minor missions, but this is their first major mission. So they know each other, but they haven't yet been under stress together.

If they are sent out to the mine immediatly, an elder druid with a Commune with Nature spell could have pointed me out that way so I could be there before them or after them. Or just plain you all meet at the crossroad in front of the mine.

Personal preference .... I would say be there some 10-30 minutes before them.

If you meet them at Starkspear, you'll miss the first encounter, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Ok, DualShadow, here's what I'm thinking. Ogodei has made it up to the correct area, but doesn't have any further clues, so he's hanging out about halfway between Frostcove and Starkspear looking for clues. He stumbles across Encounter Number 1 right as it stumbles across the rest of the party.
